Spanish Fever draws its name from Spanish Fever: Stories by the New Spanish Cartoonists, Fantagraphics’s 2016 adaptation of Panorama: La novela gráfica española hoy. Published in 2013 by Astiberri, Panorama is testimony to the resurgence of the Spanish comic in the twenty-first century, sparked by a graphic novel movement. Propelled by the establishment of the Premio Nacional del Cómic in 2007, this resurgence has brought about a diverse, unpredictable and fascinating new wave of Spanish comics. This publication features winners of the national prize in addition to rising stars and experimental artists, focusing on current trends in this golden decade of the Spanish comic. NEW YORK
