PLAN

SYNOPSIS

The present plan has the following Goals: •Do a flight from Seville (Spain) to Manila (Philippines) on visual navigation (a bird’s sight) •Commemorate a great aeronautical done by spanish pilots members of Elacano Patrol in 1926. •Commemorate a Century Spanish aviation. • Being ambassadors of an act of charity on Philippines Archipelago through a gesture of Solidarity “Solidarity Raid ”.


HISTORICAL PREVIOUS On 5 de april 1926, three Breguet XIX, with 450 CV Lorraine engines, toke off from Cuatro Vientos Airfield to Philippines Islands. The were piloted by captains Martínez Esteve, Loriga y Eduardo GonzálezGallarza, who carried as mechanicals Calvo, Pérez and Arozamena. On Stage El Cairo-Bagdad, Martínez Esteve’s aircraft, suffered a brokedown enginie so he had to land on the Desert.

After that on a short stage of Saigon-Vink-Hanio-Macao, only 2.100 kilometers, they suffered a some brakedown dued to they hit a mosquitoes cloud. Other incidents delayed the patrol, how whether was becoming bad due to monsoon season and they had to going on immediately , Loriga y González- Gallarza decided go on to Philippines on one aircraft, which was flown by two captains. Gallarza, carring to Loriga as navigator, flew from Macao to Aparri, on Luzón Island, on 11 May, and from Aparri they flew to Manila, where they landed on 13 May among crowd who was acclaiming them at they arrival. The aircraft had flown 18 stages on 16 days journeis, in 39 days, doing 106 hours and 15 minutes flying 17.000 kilómetres from Madrid.


CREW (1) DAVID NEIRA RODRIGUEZ Ponferrada, on 6 de October 1980. Spanish Air Force Captain. Stationed on Ala N潞 11. Mor贸n de la Frontera Air Base. Fighter Pilot He has more than 1000 hours flying on CASA C-101, Northrop F-5 and EUROFIGHTER Typhoon Aircrafts.


CREW (2) DIEGO MANUEL COCA MAZUELA Santa Fe, on 8 May 1976. Spanish Air Force Sargeant. Stationed on Ala N潞 11. Mor贸n de la Frontera Air Base. EUROFIGHTER Typhoon Flight Control System Mechanical. Air Transport Pilot and Flight Instructor. He has more than 300 hours flying single engine and polymotor Aircrafts.


CREW (3) JOSÉ MAQUEDA FRUTOS Dos Hermanas, on 6 December 1967. Spanish Air Force First Sargeant. Stationed on Ala Nº 11. Morón de la Frontera Air Base. Aircraft Mechanical. He has 14 years experience on Instruments, Electrical, Flight Control And Engines System on CN-235, C-295, EUROFIGHTER, C130 HERCULES and CASA C-101 aircrafts


AIRPLANE We have to get and airplane with similar characteristics to Breguet XIX, the aircraft where Patrulla Elcano did the flight (on top wing, fix landing gear and singles engine ) We have selected Cessna 172 Skyhawk airplane. Will be some changes in engine and we have to put another extra fuel tank.


THE ROUTE (1) 14.000 Km. a trough seas, oceans, deserts, jungles and 18 countries...


THE ROUTE (2) We have tried following the original route, but we have done an alternative route due to some political changes: Irak y Lybia. The best Dates will be between January and April 2012 The stages are the folowing ones: STAGE 1: SEVILLA-ALMERÍA
