Finance: The £72,765 received from the Overlord fund has been dealt with as follows; £10,000 donated to the Spirit of Normandy Trust; £50,000 deposited in an interest bearing bond and £12765 held in the National account to cover expenses incurred in maintaining the Association until the 70th anniversary in 2014. Whitehall date of the annual parade and service is Sunday 26th June no doubt the Branch will send a party and lay a wreath on the Cenotaph. It's a good day out and will be planned accordingly. Names to Kitty. As a matter of interest the date in 2012 (Olympic year) is Sunday 24th June 2012. Don't get the dates mixed up.

Armed Forces Week: Is from Monday 20th to Sunday 26th June. On Monday the 20th there will be a Flag raising ceremony at 10.30am. On Tuesday 21st June there will be an exhibition in the Forum and the Branch will take part in this. On Sunday 26th June there will be a Drumhead Service on the Forum plain at 11am followed by a Parade through the City centre Windsor Castle Royal Tattoo: We were asked to investigate the possibility of taking a Branch party to this event Diamond Holidays are operating a 2 day event commencing Thursday 12th May with an overnight stay from £109 per person. This would mean boarding the coach at all Saints Green from 6a.m the coach probably starting from Gt Yarmouth or Lowestoft at that time. Proceeding to Windsor. Entry to the showground is from 3pm The Tattoo commences at 8.30pm after which the coach takes you to your Hotel situated either at Berkshire or Hampshire for an overnight stay After breakfast the coach takes you to London for free time finally leaving for home at 4pm. Considering that you would have to find somewhere to park your car or use the Park & Ride and the long hours, the committee decided that it would be too stressful for members and therefore will not take it on. If you still want to go, information is available from the EDP and EEN. Subscriptions: Subscriptions for 2011 are now due, costs are £5 per person, £10 per couple. If you do not have a 2011 membership card it means that your subscriptions are due. Please send cheques, made payable to “NVA Norwich Branch” to The Assistant Secretary, Sarah McAllister, 12 Millside, Stalham, Norfolk, NR12 9PA. Your 2011 card will then be sent to you with the next edition of the Normandy Star or Normandy Star News, unless you enclose a stamped and addressed envelope with your remittance.
