Notices and Forthcoming Events Normandy 2010: A Branch party will return to Normandy from the 4th to the 8th June. Accommodation will be in the Best Hotel and the party will travel via the Channel Tunnel. The cost is £350 per person payable by installments; 3 payments of £100 each due on the 10th of each month commencing February with a final payment of £50 on the 10th May. The following information is now available. On the 5th June 3 Div UK will host an event in the Garden of Remembrance Caen from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. On the 6th June there will be a service in Cathedral at 10am and a service in Bayeux Cemetery at 11.30am.Both these events will be included in the itinerary. For any further enquiries, details etc contact Kitty Burge. It is proposed to subsidize the cost of each Veteran travelling to Normandy to a sum of £100 each from the Overlord Appeal. Names and addresses of Veterans travelling should be in the hands of the Overlord Appeal organizer by the 30th March. If you don't want your names forwarded please indicate when booking but you do realize that it may jeopardize the payment proffered. Imphal Barracks: The Commanding Officers is prepared to host the NVA on one special day in York in 2010 and each successive year. The Branch will take a party to York with an overnight stay, interested? See Kitty Burge. Overlord appeal: A “Commemoration and Thanksgiving Service for Liberation” is being organized by Harm and Hans Kuijper at St Walburgkirk, Zutphen, Holland on Thursday 6th May 2010. The programme includes a Parade, the Service and a full evening of entertainment. For those who are going to Holland at this time, it could be included in your programme of events. Seaside Special Cromer: It is proposed to organise a day's outing to Cromer in the Summer months to visit the Seaside Special Show on the Pier. The outing will be subsidized to the sum of £10 each person. Interested? See Kitty Burge. Collections: The collections program me for 2010 is now being compiled. Remember, it is the money from

collections which subsidizes social events. The Branch will continue with collections even if outsiders are used, especially for the street collection. If you wish to help see Sarah. Forthcoming collections for the period up to April 2010 are as follows; W M Morrisons, Lowestoft. Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th March 2010. W M Morrisons, Cromer, Friday 23rd April 2010. Rainbow Stores, Lowestoft, Saturday 24th April 2010. Monthly social meetings: Are held on the second Wednesday of each month at the Royal British Legion Centre, Aylsham Rd, Norwich, 11am for 11.30am start. Come along to meet and chat, tea and coffee provided and take part in the raffle (proceeds to Branch funds). Meetings to be held on Wednesday 10th March and Wednesday 14th April 2010. Subscriptions: If you have not yet paid your subscriptions for 2010, please do so A.S.A.P. to Sarah McAllister. Costs are £5 per person, £10 per couple.
