EARLY morning on Sept. 7, runners competed for a top spot on smooth ground in Lavaca. Senior Cole Richard placed first for boys, and Espinosa placed third for girls. Eight members received medals for finishing in the top ten. “Me and my boys ran a good race. The course was flat so it was a little easier. It was pretty fresh,” Richard said. “I was so excited to be done because I left it all out there on the course,” senior Kolten Speaks.
“In the two meets we’ve finished second and first. When the whole boys team runs, we’ll be okay,” cross country coach Brooks Witherspoon said.
