The old Victorian sewage pumping station will be open to the public on July 15 (10:30am-4pm) with a day full of historical talks and craft workshops especially designed for families. The Woodlands Farm Trust invites families to learn all about the First World War and how it affected farming, especially in the Welling area. Mini mudlarks babies group Museum of London Docklands is offering a free one-hour workshop for babies and their parents (or carers) designed to help the babies learn in the museum environment. There is exclusive time in the Mudlarks Gallery at the end of the session. Suitable for children aged 6 months to pre-walking. Tickets are free but must be reserved in advance. Eltham Palace’s open air theatre The UK’s premier all-male theatre company, The Lord Chamberlain’s Men, will be performing at Eltham Palace on July 11 (7:30pm). The Shakespeare play will be an open-air production, and viewers can bring chairs and blankets – and a picnic to enjoy – while sitting on the grass.
