Tell the Truth

Last week, we talked about ‘letting it go.’ So, this week let’s look at digging into the truth of the power of letting go of the hurts/pains that have caused us to live uneasy and/or diseased lives. Let’s start with meditating on a prayer entitled “Carry Me Through” written by Marie Chapian. We’ll look for GOD’s gold treasures that help us be real with GOD and with ourselves to the point we seek/ask/trust GOD in all our troubling emotional states: “Today, Jesus, I won’t get upset You’re right at my side with more than enough patience to carry me through Oh Lord, silence my emotional tsunami and give me peace! I feel like the runner who’s trained and sacrificed, and at the race of a lifetime, her opponent takes off like a bullet and crosses the finish line first Ouch Jesus, when someone else nabs the trophy I thought truly was mine, give me grace in my heart to appreciate their success Save me from jealousy and self-pity. And save me from self-condemnation: I should have done or why can’t I have--? Thank you for your gracious spirit always leading and teaching me to be the generous mind and heart of God. I have all I need in you. Thank you for showing me that loss/hurt/pain can simply mean a new beginning.” (“The Lord is ne to all who call on him, to all who call on hi in truth He fulfills the desire of those wh fear him; he also hears their cry and save them” Psalm 145:18-19)

With as much confidence/faith as you/we can muster, we have the opportunity/right to seek GOD for clarity about, and freedom from, our hurts/burdens.

Take a look at the words in Donald Lawrence’s song “Deliver Me”: “He leads me beside still waters, He restoreth my soul, When you become a believer, Your spirit is made right, And sometimes, the soul doesn't get to notice It has a hole in it, Due to things that's happened in the past, Hurt, abuse, molestation; But we wanna tell you, That God wants to heal the hole in your soul, Some people's actions are not because their spirit is wrong, But it's because the past has left a hole in their soul; May this wisdom help you get over your past, And remind you that God wants to heal the hole in your soul; Lord Deliver me, 'Cause all I seem to do is hurt me; God rescued me from myself, from my overthinking; Let the Lord know, He wants to restore your soul, He said If my people, who are called by my name, Will pray, Seek my face, turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from Heaven; The things that hurt you in the past won't control your future; Starting now, this is a new day, This is your exodus, you are officially released.”

Thankfully tell GOD and yourself the Truth. You’ll be forgiven and freed with new beginnings!
