W E E K L Y W O R D Fear Defeated
By RICKI FULLERJust as the Apostle Paul prayed for Timothy, Father GOD, I believe You encourage Your people today to pray for one another on a regular basis For example, in Chapter One of II Timothy, it is written that Paul encouraged Timothy (his son in the Gospel) to stirup/recognize/remember the godly examples he experienced in the lives of his mother and grandmother
In heeding Paul’s admonition, Timothy would definitely become a mature leader in Christ’s Kingdom by serving His people with the gift GOD gave to him That gift from GOD, with which he would carry out the wishes of GOD and of Paul, is a fearless/confident, powerful, loving, and self-controlled mind.
Today, astute and obedient disciples/followers of Christ are encouraged to exercise those same GOD-given mental and physical gifts of courage, power, love, and self-control Of a surety, without faith/confidence our service to Christ and to His people (and to our Christ-siblings) is useless Such uselessness is similar to that of the fearful servant who hid his master’s talent/money in the ground (Matthew 25:25)
So, how do we stir-up courage and confidence to live in and serve in Christ’s light? Here again, Paul gave succinct and concise directions to his audience which are written in the Fifth Chapter of First Thessalonians Paul advised the members of the church of Christ in Thessalonica that they all ‘are’ children of the light , and that they were chosen by GOD to be saved through the Lord Jesus Christ The Christians (then and now) were/are advised to actively and consistently encourage each other, and to build one another up
Paul continued his advice as follows: Rejoice always; Give Thanks in all circumstances , Test everything that is said, hold on to what is good; Stay Away from every kind of evil; Pray without ceasing.
In regards to prayer, Jesus gave His disciples a sample prayer which the world tags as The Lord’s Prayer, and is found in Matthew 6:9-13 Here are His words that can defeat fear in His followers’ lives: “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name Your kingdom come Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever Amen ” Also, in the latter verses of I Thessalonians Chapter Five, Paul concludes with a blessing and admonition to Christ’s Disciples Let’s pray and encourage one another in like fashion as did Paul: “Now may the GOD of peace make you/us holy in every way, and may your/our whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you/us ”
Beloveds, we are already powerful because of our Redeeming Lord Jesus Christ! Believe and live it, NOW!

“So God created mankind in his own image”
