PEACE IS OURS, FOR SURE
By RICKI FULLER
On the very same day Jesus Christ arose alive from the crucifixion death-tomb, He appeared to ten of His closest disciples who were privately meeting together Scripture indicates they met in a closed/locked room so as not to be discovered by the Jews whom they feared would punish them due to their allegiance to Jesus Whether they met due to fear of reprisals, or because of their perceived need to strategize next steps, it is clear those disciples were together in-and-on purpose
Prior to His having been crucified, Jesus told the disciples that they would have peace in the world even after his departure from earth His assurance to them regarding that peace was encased in His promise to endow them with The Holy Spirit as found in the Fourteenth and Sixteenth Chapters of the Book of John
(“But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things And He will help you remember everything that I have told you Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge ]” John 14:26-27 AMP)
(“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding ]” John 16:33 AMP)
(“That Sunday evening the disciples were meeting behind locked doors because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders Suddenly, Jesus was standing
there among them! “Peace be with you,” he said. As he spoke, he showed them the wounds in his hands and his side They were filled with joy when they saw the Lord! Again he said, “Peace be with you As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you ” Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven. If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”” John 20:19-23 NLT)
From that time, and going forward, the disciples did as Jesus instructed them in Matthew 28:19-20 (“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age ” NLT)
And, due to them obeying Christ, all who are baptized according to Acts 2:38 have His Spirit, Peace, and Salvation!
We’re Overcomers with Peace For Sure!
