During the Lenten season this year, St. Dominic Parish parishioners were presented the opportunity to volunteer at Habitat for Humanity on June 9. Thirty-one parishioners worked that day, putting up sheet rock, painting and doing other finish work to homes on South Marshall St. in Hartford. Twenty parishioners also made food for snacks and lunch to feed workers and crew leaders. The St. Dominic School fifth-grade class wanted to get involved, so the students decided to bake cookies for the crew and make thank you cards for those who volunteered to work at Habitat that day.
