Rosenberg navigated the 5mile course in a blistering time of 26:27, outdoing the second-place finisher, Plantsville’s Jim Rosenberger, by one minute and 15 seconds. Meanwhile, Florian need-

“I came in hoping to win,” said Rosenberg, 22. Florian, 20, had high hopes as well. “One of my friends holds the course record for this,” he said. “I was going out to break that.” The Apple Festival races drew some 1,400 participants and a large crowd of onlookers.
