Sixth graders hold the Julius Caesar debates As part of an interdisciplinary Language Arts/Social Science project, 6th grade students staged a series of debates in class on Thursday,

These two 6th graders debate whether or not Julius Caesar should be put to death. It was part of a lesson, led by Language Arts teacher Christina Vasilakos, in presenting a convincing argument. After the debate, students observing voted on who made the best presentation.

Social Science teacher Terra Henry asks students to vote for the winning debater. This debate team consisted of 7th grade students who had studied the unit the prior year in 6th grade. They served as “returning guest debaters,” who remembered the lesson well enough to convincingly argue for and against Caesar.
