END OF SHOOT DAY

Location: Wilson County Fiddlers Grove Time: 8:07pm

BEHIND THE COLLECTION Our new shirt line has been months in the making. It seemed that over the past few years the remarks to design t-shirts became more and more prevalent. So, I started to keep a running list of ideas. I bet I have at least 50 pieces of paper with sketches and quickly written notes. Early this year, I pulled all those notes out and printed out pages worth of saved Pinterest design inspirations and got to work. This new shirt collection consists of 22 designs, with original hand illustrations from yours truly and those oh-so familiar southern sayings that are a staple of this brand. I created this lookbook to give a little behind the scenes of this new collection and the inspiration behind the designs. In addition, I wanted to share with you our photoshoot that happend on a summer Friday afternoon in Lebanon, Tennnessee. These shirts are incredibly soft and range from 100% cotton to the heathered options that are a mix of polyster and cotton. They wear well and only get softer with every wash. I’m once again, partnering with the awesome guys at Grand Palace Print Company in Nashville, Tennessee. This collection has been a labor of love and one I am very proud of. As always, thanks for following along on this journey with me. I hope you guys enjoy and wear these new shirts as much as I have!

COWBOYS & INDIANS I’ve always had a love for old western stories of cowboy and indians. My dad introduced me to Gunsmoke, True Grit and John Wayne at an early age. This Big Chief may not be as southern as my other designs, but I feel like the western lifestyle and the southern lifestyle overlap in many aspects. I somewhat compare it to how Nashville’s country music and South Texas’ western swing go hand in hand. I wanted to branch out and do something different, but that was still in line with our brand. Of all the shirts in this new collection, this one is my favorite.

A COLLABORATION I reached out to my dear friend, the talented Nashville lettering artist, Rosemary Radfurd, of Garden Key Company and asked if she would be interested in collaborating with me on this collection. I asked her to write out a few options of Nashville and Tennessee. She of course, nailed it on the head with the first round she sent me. This design has also been printed on a v neck and a tank option as well. You can view them all on our website. Also, give Rosemary a follow on her gorgeous Instagram @gardenkeyco.

LOST CREEK CATTLE COMPANY The inspiration for this shirt came from my family’s cattle and quarterhorses farm called Lost Creek Cattle Company. Lost Creek is the name of a very rural community where my dad was raised in middle Tennessee. The original design had “Lost Creek Cattle Co,” because that was the original name of the business, but once I added the horse illustration behind, the word “cattle” didn’t make any sense, so I changed it. We used to be a primarly cattle farm, but now we have switched and are more quarterhorses, hence why “cattle” is in the title. I added another horse silhouette in the middle instead of a cow silhouette and changed “Lebanon, Tennessee” to “Lost Creek Farms.” You can learn more about our farm and view all our quarterhorses on our website at lostcreekcattlecompany.com.

ABOUT THE MODEL I reached out to my sorority sister and friend, Bethany Jackson to be my shirt model. Bethany is true cheerleader for other creatives and was a champ to work with! I had a particular vision for this photoshoot and she never questioned my weird ideas or my fast-paced mood that afternoon. Bethany is a full time 5th grade teacher, but she is also a makeup artist in the summers and on weekends. Bethany is a graduated Middle Tennessee State University and the Academy of Make Up Arts in Nashville. Be sure to follow her on instagram @inspirethebrush to see all her latest works and to keep up with her blog, inspirethebrush.blogspot.com.
