SERC also offer Higher Level Apprenticeships at Levels 4 & 5 which ensure you can avail of a workforce with advanced technical skills now and in the future to help improve productivity and retention of staff. Knowledge Transfer Partnerships Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) can improve your business’s competitiveness and productivity by providing you with a SERC Graduate to work on a specific project for between 12 and 36 months. Taking part in a KTP can help you to develop your business by helping you get the academic expertise that you don’t have in-house. This expertise can help your business perform better and become more competitive and productive. SERC can work with you to agree on a strategic project, while our lecturer will mentor the graduate throughout the duration of employment, ensuring they bring expertise and innovation to the project. As KTP is part funded up to two thirds of the costs of employing the graduate are funded by Innovate UK.

Student Placements Most of our students have a placement incorporated into their College courses, across a wide range of business sectors. Our students can be placed in your business for up to two years and can add value with their skills and knowledge, innovation and fresh approach. SERC staff responsible for co-ordinating student placements, will work in partnership with you to maximise this opportunity for both parties, whilst providing support and advice throughout the duration of the placement.

Apprenticeships SERC offers fully funded Apprenticeships across a wide range of sectors helping businesses harness fresh new talent or offer progression to existing employees. This is an excellent way to equip your workforce with professional skills training and qualifications, whilst they are earning a wage. SERC also offer Higher Level Apprenticeships at Level 4 & 5 which ensure you can avail of a workforce with advanced technical skills now and in the future to help improve productivity and retention of staff. Apprenticeship programmes provide quality training combined with employment, in partnership between Employer, SERC and Apprentice. Opportunities are available for new employees or an existing employee in a new job role.

Student Industry Projects With over 35,000 enrolments, SERC have a huge skills base which your business can access when you need it. If you need a problem solved or support to help with a specific project our students have the skills and knowledge to get your business results.
