Wednesday 11 - Sunday 15 April Lucy Cash’s and Becky Edmunds’ Straybird present a thoughtfully curated programme of screenings, performance, debate and discussion. Sitting somewhere between a choreographed exhibition and an exhibited choreography, the curators delve into what really matters in the context of artists’ practices. What Matters follows the highly successful What If festival (2010).

Wednesday 16 May Three works explore how dance practices push performers to their limits. Daniel Linehan’s critically acclaimed solo Not About Everything combines physical effort and mesmerising language resulting in a highly charged and humorous work. Dog Kennel Hill Project’s The Devil & the Details is a provocative and absorbing deconstruction of the creative process. Lee Meir’s Translation Included is a witty, touching solo in which daily gestures are stripped down from their obvious functions and then recombined.

• Times vary – full programme available at • Siobhan Davies Studios, London, SE1 6ER • £15 day pass/£30 festival pass • Book: / 020 7247 2350

• 7.30pm • The Basement, Brighton, BN1 4AJ • £15 • Book: / 01273 709709

What Matters is presented by Independent Dance in association with Siobhan Davies Dance and South East Dance. Supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. Additional support from the International Journal of Screendance. Produced by Artsadmin with Straybird.

SADHANA: ELIXIR Saturday 5 May

Saturday 9 June

Subathra Subramaniam's company Sadhana will be touring new work Elixir throughout May. Using choreography, digital projection, original music and art installation, Elixir dives deep into our relationship with water in a world where its scarcity is an everincreasing problem. Performances are followed by a Café Scientifique where Quentin Cooper, presenter of BBC Radio 4’s Material World, chairs discussion between the artists, scientists and audience members.

A magical interactive experience aimed specifically at babies and children under five and their families. The Beetlebuns are shy creatures but great fun and full of surprises. Visit their planet, full of weird and wonderful things where crazy machines turn and magical trees blossom. Hop onto our carpet and watch how digital characters and objects start to react to your every move. • Performances at 10am, 11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm • South East Dance Studios, Kent, BR8 7LG • £5 (family discounts available) • Book: / 01322 618618
