1 Purpose 1.1

The RAG Committee is Responsible for: 1.1.1

The organisation, co-ordination and supervision of all activities taking place as part of RAG

1.1.2

Encouraging Union members, as individuals or as groups, to fundraise for a diverse range of charities

1.1.3

Co-ordinating with all Union departments and societies on any matter relating to charity fundraising

1.1.4

Keeping up to date with all potential and actual SUSU charity fundraising activities

1.1.5

Applying best practices from the charity field to RAG activities and practices

1.1.6

Maintaining positive and active working relationships with local and national charities and RAGs

1.1.7

Assisting University members or bodies with charity fundraising

1.1.8

Ensuring a broad range of charities are supported but that no charity is supported that brings RAG, SUSU or the University into disrepute or major disrepute

1.2 The Committee shall be chaired by the RAG Officer 1.3 The Committee shall operate under the general rules governing standing committees as outlined in Standing Order 3, Section 1 of the Constitution.

Corporate Sponsorship Officer 2.2.3.1 Seeks sponsorship from business both annually and for specific events 2.2.3.2 Works with Publicity Officer to ensure sponsors get advertised 2.2.4 Your RAG Challenge Officer 2.2.4.1 Encourages student groups to fundraise 2.2.4.2 Monitors how much student groups have raised and tallies against ‘Your RAG Challenge’ 2.2.5 Raids Officer 2.2.5.1 Organises the RAG Raids that occur throughout the year 2.2.5.2 Acquires permit and volunteers for such activity 2.2.6

3 Sub Committees


RAG Committee Standing Committee By Law 3.1

The RAG Committee has created the following sub Committees;

3.2 JCR-Sub Committee 3.2.1 The Purpose of the JCR Sub-Committee shall be to discuss and share fundraising ideas, consider collaborative events and JCR fundraising opportunities

3.2.2 The JCR Sub-Committee shall consist of;

Events Sub-Committee

3.3.1 The Purpose of the Events Sub-Committee shall be to discuss and organise

current and upcoming RAG events. Organise events independently from RAG Committee, and report activity to RAG Committee

3.3.2 The Events Sub-Committee shall consist of; 3.3.2.1 Events Co-ordinator [Chair] 3.3.2.2

The committees shall be run according to guidelines provided in Standing Order 1, Section 5 of the Constitution.

3.5

The Sub-Committees shall meet every 3 weeks

4 Meetings 4.1

Timings 4.1.1 Meetings shall ordinarily be held at least twice per semester 4.1.2 Sub-Committees shall submit minutes to the subsequent RAG Committee 4.1.3 The Chair shall, with appropriate support, shall ensure agendas and papers are circulated at least 3 clear days in advance of meetings


RAG Committee Standing Committee By Law 4.2

Election of Voluntary Officers or other representatives 4.2.1 Voluntary Officers or other representatives shall be elected by show of hands as guided by Standing Order 6 of the Constitution

4.2.2 Terms of office for Voluntary officers or other representatives shall last one year from the date which they are elected

4.2.3 It shall be the responsibility of RAG Committee to promote the election of voluntary officers or other representatives

4.2.4 At the first meeting of the academic year, the committee shall elect

representatives to other standing committees as appropriate. It shall be the responsibility of the chair to liaise with other standing committees to ensure these vacancies are known.
