1 Purpose 1.1

The Winchester Executive Committee is Responsible for: 1.1.1

Safeguarding and furthering the educational and welfare interests of the Union members at Winchester

1.1.2

Reporting any cross-campus or larger issues to other relevant Union Committees

1.1.3

Providing a forum for discussion about the development of all aspects of the Students’ Union at Winchester

1.2 The Committee shall be chaired by the VP Winchester and Sites 1.3 The Committee shall operate under the general rules governing standing committees as outlined in Standing Order 3, Section 1 of the Constitution.

Voluntary Positions Created by this Committee 2.2.1 1st Year Officer (Winchester) 2.2.1.1 Represents 1st year students on Winchester Executive Committee 2.2.1.2 Liaise with course-representatives to work on issues that affect 1st year students 2.2.2

2nd Year Officer (Winchester) 2.2.2.1 Represents 2nd year students on Winchester Executive Committee 2.2.2.2 Liaise with course-representatives to work on issues that affect 2nd year students

3rd Year Officer (Winchester 2.2.3.1 Represents 3rd year students on Winchester Executive Committee 2.2.3.2 Liaise with course-representatives to work on issues that affect 3rd years 2.2.4 Curation Officer 2.2.4.1 Shall oversee the sourcing, maintenance and presentation of art work within the Union 2.2.4.2 Ensure that the work programme presented is varied and reflects the wants of students 2.2.3

Design and Social Media Officer 2.2.5.1 Chair Design and Social Media Committee 2.2.5.2 Co-ordinate design team volunteers in production of publicity 2.2.6 Events Officer 2.2.6.1 Support students in setting up events 2.2.6.2 Represent the views of students in relation to events on the Winchester Executive Committee 2.2.7 International Officer 2.2.7.1 Represent International Students based primarily at Winchester School of Art and Winchester Hospital 2.2.7.2 Liaise with SUSU International Officer on issues affecting the wider International population 2.2.8 Postgraduate Officer 2.2.8.1 Represent Postgraduate (research and taught) students based primarily at Winchester School of Art and Winchester Hospital 2.2.8.2 Liaise with SUSU postgraduate officers on issues affecting the wider postgraduate student population 2.2.9 RAG Officer (Winchester) 2.2.9.1 Represent RAG at Winchester 2.2.9.2 Provide good quality fundraising opportunities to Winchester Students


Winchester Executive Committee By Law 2.2.10 Student Group Officer 2.2.10.1 Represent student groups affiliated to SUSU based at Winchester 2.2.10.2 Report student group activity 2.2.11 Officer without Portfolio 2.2.11.1 Represent general student population based primarily at Winchester School of Art 2.2.11.2 Liaise with appropriate Winchester Executive officer on events, campaigns, and issues affecting the Winchester student population

3 Sub Committees 3.1 3.2 3.3

The Winchester Executive Committee may create Sub-Committees in to assist in achieving its aims. Sub-Committees should be chaired by an officer of Winchester Executive Committee Sub-Committees purposes, aims and memberships should be agreed by Winchester Executive Committee to be incorporated within this by-law

4 Meetings 4.1

Timings 4.1.1 Meetings shall ordinarily be held at least twice per semester 4.1.2 The Chair shall, with appropriate support, ensure agendas and papers are circulated at least 3 clear days in advance of meetings

4.2

Election of Voluntary Officers or other representatives 4.2.1 Voluntary Officers or other representatives shall be elected by campus ballot

4.2.2 The VP Winchester and Sites (or nominee) shall be the Returning officer for these voluntary officer elections

4.2.3 At the first meeting of the academic year, the committee shall elect

representatives to other standing committees as appropriate. It shall be the responsibility of the chair to liaise with other standing committees to ensure these vacancies are known.
