Arches National Park is home to around 2,000 arches. It is located in eastern  Utah.

Death Valley covers over 3.4 million acres. It is home to many mountains and  trails to hike and bike on.

Everglades National Park is home to an alligator farm and one quarter of the  original Everglades in southern Florida.

The First State National Historical Park is in Delaware. Delaware became the  first state on December 7, 1787.

This national park is home to over 13 lakes and has many mountains. 


H ​is for ​H​awaii ​V​olcanoes N​ational ​P​ark

Around 18 volcanoes are in this national park. Hiking is the most popular activity  in this Hawaiian park.

There are many mountains and rocks to see in this national park.

In this park there are many trails that you can hike. There are over 4 glaciers in  this Alaskan park.

This national park is in California. Four volcanoes and 150 miles of trails are in  this park. 


M ​is for ​M​ount​ R​ainier N​ational​ P​ark

Mount Rainier National Park is home to about 263,000 acres of wilderness  around Washington’s highest peak.

This park covers almost 1,000,000 acres and 70 miles of wild coastline. There are  many hiking trails that are great for  getting some exercise.

Many petrified tree trunks and fossils can be found throughout this park.  There are many visually attractive places  in this national park. 


Q ​is for ​Q​uillayute​ N​eedles N​ational​ W​ildlife​ R​efuge

This national wildlife refuge has 870 islands, rocks, and reefs. It stretches  over 100 miles of the Washington  coastline. 


R ​is for ​R​ocky​ M​ountain N​ational​ P​ark

Over 415 square miles are in this national park. There are many hiking trails  throughout the mountain terrain. 


S ​is for ​Se​ quoia​ N​ational P​ark

This park is filled with humongous sequoia trees and offers numerous  outdoor activities.

Thomas Edison’s house and laboratory are the main features of this historical park. 


U ​is for ​U​matilla​ N​ational W​ildlife​ R​efuge

This wildlife refuge was built in 1969 for wildlife habitat lost to flooding. It is  located in central Washington.

War In The Pacific National Historical Park is the only one in the national park  system that represents the bravery of  the people who were in the Pacific  Theater of WWii. 


X ​is for ​S​aint​ F​rancis​ X​avier R​oman​ C​atholic​ C​hurch

This roman catholic church is on the National Register of Historic Places. It  is in Mobile, Alabama. 


Y ​is for ​Y​osemite​ N​ational P​ark

Yosemite National Park is home to over 8 waterfalls. Hiking is a major activity  that you can do in California. 


Z ​is for ​Z​ion​ N​ational​ P​ark

There are many trails to hike on. You can find many canyons and rivers throughout  this park.   


S​ummary National Parks Across America is an A-Z  book about national parks in America.  Some letters were hard to find so I had  to add wildlife refuges and places on the  National Register of Historic Places. The  places that are on the National Register  of Historic Places and the National  Historical Parks have huge history behind  them. The wildlife refuges protect  animals from predators and makes sure  that they live a good life.
