b. Definition i. Based on the Sanggunian’s thrust for this year which is “ENGAGED CITIZENSHIP (forming us to be responsible members of this nation) through EXTERNALIZATION (bringing us out of the LS campus) and POLICY MANAGEMENT”, we as Block Representatives are called upon to make our constituents feel our presence felt and our significance as a Sanggunian.

II.

ii. Two of the major responsibilities of Block Representatives (Based on the 2005 Constitution) are 1. To serve as the consultative arm of the Central Board. 2. To represent and actively communicate their constituents’ concerns to the Sanggunian. Big Picture a. From Rob Roque’s Email:

“Grand because we're setting an ambitious target: 80% of LS Students from 2nd to 4th/5th Year. The questionnaire contains specially designed questions that will eventually be used by the different committees of the Central Board to be able to push for policy changes to the administration. After the Grand Consultation (which begins on June 28 and ends on July 9), the data will be analyzed by the new Department for Research and Statistics to look for useful correlations.“

b. Our SOSS Sophomore Board’s target: 100% of the entire batch. No More. No Less. III.

Goals a. Priority is our own constituents (our blockmates) ONLY. b. For blocks without Block Representatives or OICs, have a Block Rep. or find an OIC to take charge for that block in the meantime.

IV.

Time Table June 29 to July 2: Representatives should know the exact number of their constituents and have distributed ALL survey forms to their respective blocks. July 5 and 6: At least 50% of the surveys should be returned to May Vizmonte or Jojo Dumrique even if not yet complete. This is for update purposes. Deadline is at 7pm at their respective pigeon holes. July 7 and 8: 100% of the survey forms SHOULD already be returned either to Jojo or May. July 9: Buffer day and collection. Deadline of submission of survey forms. 100% target MUST be reached by this time.

Things to do: - For the Block Representatives and OICs who weren’t able to attend the emergency meeting (Josh Lao, Paula Lantin, Stef Dy, Tim Alconga, Gelo Pojol, Jerenz Gonzales), have them talk to May Vizmonte to be oriented. -

Constantly remind them about the Time Table.

-

Find a solution to the unrepresented blocks as soon as possible.
