Entry #12 FirstView Collection- November 16, 2013 I have chose to focus on J. Crew’s Spring/Summer 2014 Line. Although, it is not considered as a designer label, Marissa Webb and Jenna Lyons have done amazing things to this brand to reinvent it’s designs to compete with some of the top designers today. The spring/summer collection is a collection I haven’t been able to stop thinking about. Their presentation was full of consistent citrus’, whites, and crisp tailoring all with a touch of femininity. Mixing prints like stripes and floral is not surprising from the design team, but they make it look effortlessly chic. Another reason I chose to focus on J. Crew over other designers is become weirdly enough; J. Crew tends to set the trends for the many consumers, which I find amazing because the line is so accessible. The presentation pieces are priced high, but not in the designer category. It makes it that much more exciting to be able to go to the store and purchase everything that they saw. I loved the tailoring and the use of different fabrics ranging from silk to cotton. It mixes comfort, femininity, and poise all in one.
