Uncommon Art Brings in the New Year in Oldsmar

our artist members of Uncommon Art have joined together to bring their artistic creations to Oldsmar area residents and visitors beginning January 3rd at the Oldsmar City Hall, 100 State Street West. A Reception will be held on Tuesday, January 15th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with refreshments. The Uncommon Art artists will be present to meet and discuss their works which will hang in the two full floors of the City Hall. These talented women have long histories as artists and they teach at area art centers, colleges and in their studios. Karen Baker is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America and the Pastel Society of Tampa Bay, Florida. She has studied with many noted painters including Wolf Kahn and today is on the faculty of both the Dunedin Fine Art Center, Dunedin, and the Morean Art Center, St. Petersburg. Karen’s pastel paintings are highly textural and expressive of her ongoing dialogue with Nature. Elizabeth Faubert is an artist photographer and a Dunedin community activist with the Dunedin Library and the Community Garden. Elizabeth finds artistic inspiration in all things and has produced a whimsical photographic series of animals reading books. As her aunts reside in Oldsmar, Elizabeth has also photographed local scenes of the town which will be on view. C.W.Petit has been an artist for 57 years and paints predominately in pastels, acrylic, and watercolor. Her art reflects her life long passions for land, including Florida botanicals, , animals and children. Her portraits are beautifully achieved by using graphite and colored pencils. She is currently creating turtle designs for the Clearwater Marine Aquariums Turtle Guardian Program and she teaches at the Dunedin Hale Center in Dunedin. Theodosia A. G. Tamborlane (Theo)’s focus is abstract and semi-abstract oil and acrylic paintings. She uses dynamic colors and combines gestural movements with geometric lines and forms in a deliberative yet free spirited process. Since 2008 her works have been in 130 exhibitions in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida in galleries, museums, corporate settings and public buildings. Theo serves as Chairwoman for the Uncommon Arts Group and can be contacted for questions or to make reservations for future Uncommon Art exhibitions at facilities and/or offices. Tamborlane@aol.com Artwork will be for sale at reasonable prices from January 3rd through February 27th, 2019, during City Hall office hours from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and at the evening Reception on January 15th.

choose something different than what I intended? Keep in mind that life is always changing. That is what is so exciting on the Planet Earth…the adventures of opposites. I call my life, Journey of Possibilities. What will you call your Journey of Life? Now you might be asking, why is she talking about this? Well, your gut sends 9 messages to your brain while your brain sends 1 message to your gut. So, your thoughts do affect your gut! If your colon is full of those wonderful yummy treats from the holidays, you might want to start the new year off with a colon cleansing. Colon hydrotherapy can make you feel lighter and think more clearly. At least that is what my clients say! What do you think? Instead of carrying around all that weight on your shoulders it can be in your gut. If your core is not good or your muscle tone is not strong, that extra sewage can add to your back pressure. Believe it, your colon is a muscle that expands, contracts and is as long as you are tall (some people can have longer). So, what is not coming out that you are carrying around? I have had many people complaining of back pressure and it is so much better after the session. Recently I had a client 86 years old, with gloomy eyes and walking with a cane. After her session, she not only walked out with her cane she did a little “jig” down the hall way. You could see the glitter in her eyes. What a gift! You might want to consider cleaning out your colon and have a little “jig” in your life! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me, suzanne@ renewlifewellness.com. Instantly Transform the Energy of Your Space

BY BARBARA CULKIN OF STYLING WITH INTENTION _________________________________________

o you feel your space needs a revitalizing breath of fresh air? Imagine living stylishly organized, energized and clutter free. Before doing any makeover or re-decorating project, the first step is to clear clutter. You may be hesitant about this step and think it’s an overwhelming project to tackle! But the main point is to start small. Take baby steps to get clean, clear and organized. Clear the space to have your place flow freely. Remember, nature abhors a vacuum. Remove one thing and something new comes in. When ready for change, it’s a priority to clear out the old to make way for the new- especially at the start of a fresh new year! Below are tips to stir up the energy in your space: uScrub the walls, the door, the floor or whatever makes your space feel clean! uClean the windows and open them up as well! Let in fresh air to stir up stale energy. uClean the front door well. If it needs a new paint job or if it’s chipping, give it a fresh coat of paint ASAP. This simple quick and easy fix will make a huge difference in your home’s appearance. uStir up the energy by moving around at least 9 things in your space that have been in the same place for months. Pictures on the wall, frames, appliances, magnets on your refrigerator- whatever you feel urged to move!

uClear out closet clutter! How many of us keep shoes or outfits we haven’t worn in ages in our closets? Sneakers from high school (yep, that was me), that dress that brings back memories, those pair of pants we keep hoping to wear again someday and so forth! If you haven’t worn it in over a year or more, or it doesn’t fit properly- it’s time to say goodbye! You can give to a friend or family member, donate to a clothing drive, or a consignment shop. You’ll feel good and have good karma too! uClear clutter from under the bed. This attracts excess baggage in your life. If you don’t need it, move it out of there. The space under the bed should be clear for the energy to flow freely. uIf you have a pet, make sure to clean up all pet hair from under and behind the furniture and of your entire space as well. uPlants are excellent energy enhancers! Plant some flowers, buy some plants or Feng Shui in your garden! If you feel you don’t have a ‘green thumb’, buy some lowmaintenance plants for your space indoors. uSpace clearing is also an excellent way to clean the energy of your space. If your place doesn’t feel good or you have trouble sleeping, you may want to do a space clearing. They can be very elaborate or simple. As long as your place feels good! Here are a few simple tips for space clearing: uPlace a bowl of sea salt in each corner of the room, apartment, or office- whichever room you are clearing. After a week or so, remove the sea salt. uYou can burn sage in your space. This is a good cleanser, although some people really dislike the smell! If that’s the case, you can buy a sage spray that’s lightly scented and very pleasant! Also, burning some cleansing, lightly scented candles or incense are a terrific choice as well. Remember-start simple and have fun doing it! Both you and your space will feel renewed and refreshed! By stirring up the energy of your space, you’ll open doors for new beginnings in your life. Dancing with your dreams in 2019!

ooking back on 2018, what do you know and see? What was most significant about last year? What would you like to let go of and release? What goals and changes did you accomplish? Imagine that all that you are carrying in your mind, body and spirit is being released about 2018. Are you are ready for a new beginning? The less you hold on to from the past the more you will spring forward! Closing out the past year is a review to reflect and release 2018 and have maximum energy in 2019! Dance outside the lines means stepping out of your box of boundaries and getting out of your way! As a child, were you taught to paint the sky blue, the grass green and trees with leaves? While painting or coloring did you follow directions, stay inside the lines, and avoid coloring outside the lines? Imagine stepping out of your own box and into the beyond and a new you! Draw a line down the center of your paper, Word document or phone device. List your responses for 2018 on the left and goals and possibilities for 2019 on the right. 1. List of all the things that you are grateful for in 2018. As you write, open and be in your heart. Feel and fill your heart with appreciation and gratitude. 2. What stories would you like to release in 2018? You may want to let go of your stories from the past, experiences, patterns, pain, thoughts, feelings, emotions, anger, abandonment, sadness, fear, & rage, unhealthy habits, memories, relationships. 3. How Spirit and Power Plant Nutrients Can Transform Your Health

By Alberto Villoldo, PhD Medical anthropologist Alberto Villoldo has studied the shamanic healing practices of the Amazon and Andes for more than 25 years. He is the founder of the Four Winds Society, which trains modern shamans in the practice of energy medicine. He directs the Center for Energy Medicine in Chile, where he investigates and practices the neuroscience of enlightenment. 14

Q: Is it really possible to grow a new body? A: Yes. You have already grown a body once before. To grow a new body all you have to do is break into password protected regions of your DNA to switch on these same codes. Surgeons have long known that you can remove 80 percent of a person’s liver, and it will grow back within two months. And the liver isn’t the only organ in the body that can regenerate itself. Your heart is 15 to 20 years old, your bones are about 2 years old, your lungs and skin are around 2 to 4 weeks old, and your intestines have changed all their cells within the last 3 days. Ageing is what happens when your body loses its ability to regenerate itself, when healthy cells no longer replace sick and dying ones. So, imagine what might happen if you direct your body to grow only healthy, vibrant new cells. This book will inform you exactly how to do that.

Q: Why is Neuroplasticity important to grow a new body? A: Neuroplasticity is a relatively new discovery for science, and it matches what sages have known for millennia about how the world molds and shapes the brain. Not so long ago we believed that the brain could not repair itself or grow new brain cells. Today we know that in response to an injury, or as a result of an epiphany or personal realization, individual neurons can change and even large-scale transformation of the brain—known as cortical remapping—can occur. Today we know how you can trigger the production of neural stem cells that repair and upgrade the brain. I learned that it’s not just the brain that manufactures stem cells. Every organ in the body produces them, but we must learn how to turn on the genetic switches that will trigger repair and regeneration. Pluripotent stem cells will allow you to grow a new body that’s healthier and more resilient. I call this One Spirit Medicine because it requires the power of Spirit for renewing the body. Diet, vitamins, supplements, and superfoods alone will not do it. Q: What does “Oneness” mean? A: Oneness is a state of awareness where life and death flow seamlessly into each other, and where we reside in infinity. It is the awareness of a reality where our separateness from creation and each other is an illusion—a trick of the mind. We truly are One. You cannot experience Oneness just by chanting Om or repeating a prayer. You need the brain chemistry that supports it. You can do this with the help of neuro-nutrients that help the pineal gland produce DMT, or dimethyltryptamine, a compound that has been referred to as “the spirit molecule.”

Q: Why is One Spirit medicine important to the average person? A: Nature selects for the longevity of the species and not the individual, investing all of its resources in reproduction. After our reproductive years we are useless to the species—human growth hormone production and free radical scavenging systems shut down, among others. Our bodies’ self-repair systems have been compromised by the toxic Western diet. One Spirit Medicine details ancient methods for detoxifying the brain and body, while clearing and repairing our Luminous Energy Field. We learn the keys to prevention and longevity practiced by the shamans of old: Superfoods that switch these systems back on again, repair mitochondria and unlock password-protected regions in DNA that activate the Sirt1 longevity genes.

Q: What is a Luminous Body or Luminous Energy Field? Does everybody have one? A: Yes, everyone has a Luminous Energy Field (LEF). The Luminous Energy Body/Field is an invisible matrix that informs the anatomy of the body. It contains a template of how we live, how we age, and how we might die. When there is no imprint for disease in the LEF, recovery from illness happens quickly. By the same token, imprints for diseases can depress the immune system, and prolong recovery time during an illness. The good news is: When we erase the negative imprint that caused the onset of illness, the immune system can rapidly eradicate disease. The Luminous Energy Field is a reservoir of vital force—a sea of living energy as indispensable to our health as the oxygen and nutrients carried by the bloodstream. When the vital reserves in the LEF are depleted through illness, environmental pollutants or stress, we suffer disease. We can safeguard our health and vitality and extend our active, healthy years by replenishing this essential fuel. Q: What about chakras? How do they fit in? A: The chakras are the organs of the Luminous Energy Field. They are wheels of energy created by the endocrine glands where the meet the nervous system. The chakras inform our neurophysiology, affecting our moods and influencing our emotional and physical well-being. The chakras connect to endocrine glands that regulate all of human behavior. In parts of South America, the chakras are known as ojos de luz, or eyes of light. We receive impressions of the world through our chakras, perceiving love in our heart; sexuality, fear, and danger in our belly (second chakra); and insight in our brow chakra (sixth). In a disagreeable situation, our second chakra can go into spasm and we may feel a knot in our stomach. From the unmistakable experience of sensing feelings through the heart center, we come to associate love with the heart, or refer to sadness as heartache. Every living being has chakras—even crickets, deer, snakes and trees.

We are not slaves to our genetics. One Spirit Medicine teaches us how we can get our health span to equal our life span.

Q: How would someone know if they need “energy healing”? A: When you have a condition that does not respond to modern medical methods, or you cannot find the cause of the disease, you can consider energy medicine. Signs of an energetic imbalance can range from physical to emotional distress or discomfort.

Q: What else does One Spirit Medicine teach us? A: We can begin to grow a new body in one week with super nutrients and energy medicine—a body that heals, ages and dies differently. But that’s not all: • Ninety percent of our DNA belongs to the microbes that live within us. If the colony is broken, disease happens—we can repair the colony with super probiotics. Microbes are our best friends. • Nine out of ten Americans have broken brains. It is possible to upgrade our brain to create psychosomatic health.

Q: What is an Illumination? What are the potential benefits, and is it appropriate for everyone? A: The Illumination process, the core foundational healing practice of the Light Body School, is the technique used to clear imprints from a person’s Luminous Energy Field. As the LEF informs the physical body, a shift in the LEF will manifest in the physical reality.

• Spirituality is the byproduct of a healed and upgraded brain, not meditation. • Shamans were the first neuroscientists. • You can’t dream your world into being until you wake up from the nightmare. Self-help doesn’t help. Q: Isn’t spirituality completely different from scientific fact? A: Science is relatively new while spirituality is very ancient. I discovered that what the spiritual traditions did was put an archaic language to what we describe today as neuroscience. However, what they refer to as “enlightenment” is optimal brain function—the ability to create psychosomatic health. Many people however associate the term “enlightenment” with organized religion when in reality it’s available to all people of any belief.

Q: Why did you leave a more traditional medical background to a more spiritual path? A: As a medical anthropologist, I was curious about other healing systems around the world. Modern medicine, which is wonderful for healing trauma (such as injuries from an automobile accident) is terrible for healing chronic conditions. At a laboratory at San Francisco State University that I directed we were studying how we create psychosomatic disease and whether we could create psychosomatic health. I realized that to find the answer I had to go study with the experts who were in true primitive societies without technology—all they had was the mind’s ability to heal the body.

Body-Mind Miracles through Hypnotherapy It

has become ever-more common knowledge that the mind has a profound influence over the body. People are becoming more and more optimistic that the mind can become a part of their overall healing process and that miraculous healings can become possible when traditional medical care falls short. The real issue with mind-body healing is that changes in the mind need to manifest in the body and we need to see measurable results. Healing the heart and mind is beautiful, yet if the change is not observed physically, then a person suffering from some type of physical ailment misses the full benefits of the treatment.

body. When the mind shifts from fear to love, then the body tends to respond quite positively. When a person is led from the fight-or-flight mode of being and into a restdigest-and-heal way of functioning, then the body automatically finds homeostasis within itself and with its environment. Because the mind can change instantly, the corresponding physical shifts can occur instantly. Hypnosis provides a gateway to tap into the deep inner mind, where

Can Hypnotherapy help to bridge the gap within mind-body healing? The simple answer is yes. There are powerful studies and techniques that arise out of the field of Psychoneurophysiology that prove to us the importance of using the mind in complementary care. What we find with the use of hypnosis is that changes can occur within the subconscious mind and through skillful technique these change can manifest into the physical body with a higher level of probability. For instance, when treating Irritable Bowel Syndrome, we can help the mind to be more at peace and the heart to be more at ease, yet we must also see change in the symptoms of IBS or the healing is not complete. Well-tested hypnotic techniques have indeed shown that IBS symptoms can be reduced or eliminated when healing and pain management techniques are applied within the overall strategy. This applies to psychosomatic illness, yet it also applies to conditions that are not caused by the mind, but that the mind can help to heal or at least bring relief to.

Can a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist bring miracles to medical settings or work with complementary-minded physicians? Yes! Most state laws simply require that a physician provides a referral, prescription, supervision or direction to use hypnotherapy as a complementary medical modality. A well-trained hypnotherapist with State-Licensed Diplomas is in an exceptional place to do what most physicians simply do not have the time to do. Hypnotherapists often take many hours with their clients to empower them to heal their mind and to heal their bodies. When this is done in a integrative manner, then everyone is made better off. Physicians see longer lasting and more holistic change, patients feel more whole and empowered, and the hypnotherapist feels the rewarding feeling of knowing that he or she made a tremendous difference in another person’s life. The human body is capable of miraculous healing and when the mindbody connection is truly understood, then we all stand to live happier, more empowered and overall healthier lives. ___________________________________ Matthew Brownstein, CCHt is the founder of the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy and is the President of the International Association of Interpersonal Hypnotherapists. He has been in clinical practice for over 20 years and opened the first hypnotherapy school to be licensed by the Department of Education’s Commission for Independent Education in 2007. Matthew is a published author in the fields of hypnotherapy, spirituality and mind-body healing. Classes in Clinical Hypnotherapy Certification start on a regular basis in Tampa, Florida and Alexandria, Virginia with Matthew as the lead instructor.

What is the role of miracles in mind-body healing and hypnosis? A miracle is not necessarily a shift in the body. A miracle can be seen as a shift in the mind that has a ripple effect within the

the change needs to occur, and allows for these miraculous shifts to happen in more strategic and systematic ways. Miracles, in this context, are no longer mere guesswork, yet relate to proven methodologies that create power and positive change.

One with Spirit 2019-Expansion!

re you ready to experience expansion? You must do the inner work to transmute all lower vibrational thinking, clear the monkey mind and raise the vibration to love and Oneness or Unity Consciousness. It is a continuum, and as you practice, you attain more. This is the journey to change your life to experience Oneness, feel healthier and happier and have more high vibrational experiences and relationships. In order to be the “good tree” that bears “good fruit” that’s mentioned in the Bible, it requires Oneness with Spirit 100% of the time, in thought and action. “I AM that I AM” is the highest state- Oneness with Spirit, Source. It’s the full restoration of Human with Spirit, “The I AM.” Just begin where you’re at. Practice neutral mind thinking. Try to be the observer in every moment, especially in challenging moments. Mind mastery helps us achieve the goal of Oneness. See yourself as the observer, witnessing everything in each present moment without reacting. Breathe consciously, practice the pause when anything is challenging, stressful or negativity is arising. Keep breathing deeply and observe, listen and let go of all mental ego generated reactive thinking. As you clear your mind, connect to Spirit through your Central Energy Channel. Ask Spirit for guidance, knowledge, wisdom, understanding, perspective, guided thinking and action- what to know, say and do and the divinely guided sequence and timing. The goal is to keep the peace, create harmony and bring forth truth and understanding. You will experience the achievement of higher vibrational experiences and higher outcomes by having Oneness with Spirit. A daily practice of prayer and meditation is essential, one to several times a day. Ask questions for Spirit guidance on everything and all aspects of living, including health, physical,

mental, emotional, relational, work, life purpose, service, etc. Follow through on any intuitive messages you get as soon as possible. Then, you will receive more intuitive Spirit guidance. Observe for the synchronicities appearing. They are Spirit led orchestration, to let you know that assistance and connections are happening for you on your soul’s journey for expansion. As this Oneness with Spirit becomes a way of living, you will experience the expansion in all areas of your life and it will lead to a life filled with the fruits of the Spirit. ___________________________________ Carolyn Puckett is an Expert Myofascial Release Therapist, Quantum Energy Healer, Spiritual Response Therapy Practitioner, Kundalini Yoga Teacher, Teacher of Meditation, Breathwork and Alchemy. www.BlissMyofascialRelease.com. Health Tips The

links between psychological stress and physical illness are well proven: When you are under stress your body produces adrenaline, cortisol, and other stress hormones that can impair its ability to fight off disease and lead to cardiovascular and other disease. “You owe it to yourself to find ways to reduce stress in your life for your own mental, emotional, and physical health,” Dr. Nelson says. Dr. Nelson has trained thousands of healing practitioners worldwide and is recognized as an authority on how “trapped” emotions – unresolved feelings from negative and traumatic life experiences – affect mental, physical, and emotional health. Some tips he recommends for reducing stress in your life include: Recognize the source: “Stress is nothing but an imbalance of energy, partly conscious and partly subconscious. The energy that you spend focusing on negativity and fear is directly proportional to your stress level,” Dr. Nelson says. “Possibly even more powerful than these are energetic imbalances such as trapped emotions – the remnants of trauma that have become stuck in the body, leading us to

unconsciously choose certain feelings, thoughts, and expectations.” Find peace through forgiveness: “If there’s someone who has hurt you or wronged you in some way, and you haven’t forgiven them, your stress level will inevitably be greater than it should. On the other hand, when we learn to let go and forgive others, we experience greater peace, calm, hope, gratitude, and joy – all of which can improve our physical health as well as our emotional outlook.” Make intelligent and balanced decisions: “You are the pilot of your own course in life. When you find yourself automatically being guided toward the emotion of anger, for example, wait a few seconds and ask yourself if it would better serve you to change course. The ability to choose more positive emotions is something

all of us have, but it’s like a muscle that needs regular exercise in order to serve us best.” Release emotional baggage: Learning energy healing techniques can “lower your stress level by quickly getting straight to the underlying causes of negative emotional choices and nagging, negative thoughts,” Dr. Nelson says. In live, on-air demonstrations he shares how to identify and release trapped emotions (free instructions are available at www.EmotionCodeGift. com.) “Removing these underlying causes of stress will help your physical body to heal and function optimally, providing you with more energy to fulfill your commitments, meet your deadlines, and create a state of acceptance and forgiveness on a daily basis,” Dr. Nelson says. __________________________________ About Dr. Nelson: Veteran Holistic Physician Dr. Bradley Nelson is one of the world’s foremost experts in the emerging fields of Bioenergetic Medicine and Energy Psychology. Don’t Let Your BS Hold You Back in 2019 “Life is a blackboard upon which we consciously or unconsciously write those messages which govern us. We hold the chalk and the eraser in our hand but are ignorant of this fact. What we now experience we need not continue to experience but the hand which holds the eraser must do its neutralizing work.” ~ Dr. Ernest Holmes What will be new about you in 2019 as you enter into the New Year? We hold the power to create a new experience in life by first understanding that while we can’t change the past, we can choose not to recreate it by dragging it into the future. To that I say, it’s all BS! Of course, by “BS”, I mean our Belief System. You have to be willing to identify and remove old beliefs that too often subtly undermine your success and replace them with new beliefs that support your vision of a new you in the new year. When an old behavior pops up stop what you are doing and challenge it. Call it out and expose it to the light of the new you...and then make another choice that honors your highest intention for 2019. If need be, enlist the support of a mentor, counselor or trusted friend to be your cheerleader— to help you stay on point. Don’t concern yourself with how this will happen; once you are clear on the what, the universe has a way of guiding you in taking the appropriate actions required to manifest the how. Realize that in this process you have just taken hold of the chalk and the eraser.

Happy New You!

Organic Skin Care®

Luxurious, Professional, All Natural Skin Care

any of us are concerned with putting our best face forward when it comes to skin care, but desire a natural solution for maintaining the health of our skin. Sarajane Ward, founder of Plush Organic Skin Care, first started delving into the world of Botanics with this in mind. “As someone with sensitive skin, I got tired of buying products in the store or in a day spa that were not truly organic” she stated; “I wanted to use the same natural ingredients used by women of various cultures and ethnic backgrounds to achieve natural skin care and age defying results”. For the past 20 years, she has been studying aesthetic care and natural skin healing, as well as visiting different parts of the world to research ingredients and methods. Three years ago, Sarajane decided to begin selling her products under her business, Plush Organic Skin Care. Plush Organic specializes in creating blends for dry and sensitive skin, and provides products for both the face and body. These products are used by professional estheticians and day spas for their clients, but they are also available for purchase by individuals. Sarajane is a resident of Gainesville, Florida, where she works from a home surrounded by nature. She is originally from England, and is a musician and songwriter. “It’s my nature to create, and I want to bring happiness and fun to others” she says, which shows through both her work in aesthetics and as half of a musical duo which she and her husband travel as. Plush Organic Skin Care products are made from one hundred percent organic ingredients, harvested by certified organic growers in the US as well as in the UK and Australia. Additionally, they do not contain chemical emulsifiers, carcinogens, gluten, or pesticides, and are never tested on animals. For someone who is conscious about what they put on their skin, this sets the company apart from many other skin care lines on the market today. And for Sarajane, this is one of the most important aspects to keeping your skin healthy and glowing throughout your life. By living a healthy lifestyle and using her own products, she strives to be living proof of the extensive natural skin care knowledge that goes into every single organic skin care creation, and represent that a timeless, ageless look is attainable.

2019 Year of Results

he New Year is 2019 which is a number three year (2+0+1+9 = 12; 1+2=3). We have had successive years of 2017 (2+0+1+7 = 10; 1+0=1) and 2018 (2+0+1+8= 11), both years having the block bursting energy of the 1. 11 is a Master number and can be symbolized as 11/2 (1+1=2) although in Numerology it is usually always shown as 11. The number 1 is known for potential extreme fire and intensive masculine energy. We have seen 11 is the destroyer in many ways (remember 911) because it signifies ultra-new beginning energieswith the 1 energy going into another 1 energy this energy last year multiplying and being explosive we have seen what a world looks like with constant and new turmoil at many levels. The three year is a culmination or coming into manifestation (a birthing) of those things which proceed it, typically the product of the 1 and the 2. It is seen as the birth from the 1 (masculine) and the 2 (normally seen as recessive energy) but now we have the scenario of the

interaction as AI begins to imitate humans, with its potential ability to surpass our mental capabilities. Finance: Wall Street and the world monetary system will continue the past couple of years of robust growth with certain factors being brought forward which could wreak havoc with the status quo. In short terms a bear market seems inevitable, but with AI in the mix more and more, the potential is unlimited as to where it could go. Corporations rule the world through the monetary system so bumps not in favor with moneymaking will be addressed; the only question is how fast the reactions will be to avoid extreme corrections. Social issues: Disease and medicine will be radically altered both by tech invention and innovation; however those in charge of insurance (corporations) will continue moving to assert creative and monetary control. AI will move into this arena and increasingly

manifestation of two years of increasingly harsh energies from 1 and 11. These 1 and 11 energies will continue to manifest this year as this year will see the presentation of those things which have been in development for the past two years.

it is being used to replace human medical professionals. The fact that computers can now do much of what humans can do and are increasingly being programmed to do, as well as figure out and innovate, will have a tremendous impact. This means diseases, drugs, and pharmaceutical corporations are going to continue their advances to meet these types of challenges. What is being lost is the human factor as vaccines and other drugs are not being fully tested and prepared adequately for human use. Technology: as we advance our tech abilities, that which has been in development will continue its massive and ever increasing advances. Driverless cars, service workers, stores without clerks, factories and warehouses using robotic devices to the utmost, will replace those who are not highly educated or able to adapt to this new way of doing business. The smart home will be tweaked, but only if there are enough people resisting the electromagnetic effects on the human body- by insisting the “smart” appliances either be removed or improved. In short, there is a rebirth, a newness that is coming in. While much of the old is still with us, the potential energy of the three – that is the manifestation of that which came before – is a strong and yearlong force to be reckoned with. Change is our choice, and we have the power within ourselves and in a community manner of resisting and guiding all things towards a humane solution. Working to improve ourselves on the material level as well as the spiritual level is the only way to successfully meet and learn from the potential lessons of this upcoming year.

We may potentially see the following:

Politically: internationally, the constant evolvement of the Brexit issues, the Middle Eastern violence, the ever increasing involvement in the Pacific arena where this country and China appear to be headed for showdown- militarily as well as financially. More turmoil and violence in Europe and potentially Africa and South America. New regimes and population resistance to increasing efforts at globalism and oppressive dictatorships. Yemen will continue to be the pawn of the Saudis, ISIS and groups dedicated two extreme Islamist ideologies. Politically: on the domestic front, the increasing tempo between political parties. Internal movements opposed to higher ideals and dedicated to the “old” ways of thought. In other words far right growth and opposition to heavy handed left/liberal political thought. Three is also about communication, and domestically technology will continue to move forward due to the financial incentives of 5G as well as AI. AI, with its long time development and largely being brought forward to the public in the past two years will continue to dominate and lay the framework for a potential new world, both facilitating human welfare and at the same time establishing insidious control. Part TWO of a three part series about online dating…

here are many kinds of dating sites for many different demographics. FarmersOnly.com for folks who know how to milk a cow and muck out a barn, JDate for people seeking a Jewish partner, Tinder for young people looking to hook up TONIGHT, BlackPeopleMeet.com, Grindr for men seeking men… and many others. As a 44 year old middle-class guy I discovered that Match.com was the best fit for my stage in life. There are a ton of single people on Match from this area, and users pay a small monthly fee to interact with other singles. Charging a fee eliminates the people who are not serious, or can’t afford $22 a month! I made sure my profile was coherently written and free from egregious grammar errors. From discussions with several women I discovered that men who can’t write are quickly eliminated from consideration, so are guys with fishing pictures, shirtless gym selfies and pictures of their Corvette. However, I understand that pictures with your favorite Holstein gets you lots of attention on FarmersOnly.com! I tried to design my Match profile in such a way that I came across as an attractive human being with a job who was not harboring Ted Bundy proclivities on the side. After all, the major problem with online dating is the safety issue for women, and since I have 2 adult daughters I worry about this from a father’s perspective. Bill Cosby looked harmless when he was hawking Pudding Pops but he turned out to be a monster, who saw that coming? In this regard I applaud all the brave women who have the courage to get out there and date online. There are basic ways to be safe; meet someone publically, look them up online, etc… but there will eventually be a point when you are alone with a new boyfriend, and you want to make sure he is a good guy you can trust. So how does one go from looking at an anonymous profile to sharing a glass of wine at a nice restaurant? I would send her a message (through Match) and ask her if we could have a phone conversation. Apparently there are folks who will text each other forever and never go on a date! The goal is to actually meet, so if I was able to finagle a conversation with someone I could figure out if our personalities were a match before we met. These conversations were really revealing. I had a phone call with a woman who had stunning pics on Match, she was lovely, no doubt… but I could tell our personalities

PHONE: 813-501-4894

did not mesh. I told her so over the phone: “You are a beautiful woman, but we are not a match, I can tell from this conversation.” Then there were the times when the conversation was great… but when I met her she looked NOTHING like her profile pics. This is a common problem with online dating. People use decade old pics from when they were thinner, had less wrinkles, less wear and tear on the old chassis. I tried to use recent pics (last 2 months) on my profile. For a few months I went on several dates per WEEK, perhaps trying to prove something to myself… and making the mistake of quantity over quality. I’m old-fashioned in that I believe the guy should pick up the tab if he invites a woman out. Dating started to get expensive. I discovered that being the FIRST to date someone after their marriage has just ended is a waste of time. It takes time to process a divorce, I dated a lovely woman who had been in a 15 year marriage with an abusive spouse, she had a ton of unresolved issues that she had not dealt with yet. My heart went out to her, I was the first guy she kissed since the end of her marriage, but the shadow of her past abuse darkened everything between us. A little bit of therapy is not a bad thing, especially if you just ended a marriage. And this is when I realized that I was being a knucklehead. I was not ready for another relationship, especially after ending a 20 year marriage. I took a realistic assessment of my own life and decided to shut down my Match profile for a few months. I manage a sales team for a solar company, so I invested my time in working with my team. I started teaching a Debt Free class at my church. I took my daughter hiking in the Rocky Mountains and we had a great time together. I even finished writing my third book. There are times when dating online makes sense, and there are times when that time is better spent working on other goals… next month (in the last part of this series) you’ll read about my date with an international criminal who was smuggling blood diamonds… Email me if you have had a crazy dating experience: Ben Alexander Ben@TampaBaySolar.com

July 23 – August 22

AQUARIUS Ideas become more visceral and vocal this year. Listen intently to the buzz within for it is trying to harken both preparation and expansion for coming times. Solidify partnerships, cut loose the dead weight, purge your environment and spend more time in solitude in the morning. This is for solidifying ideas and depending the vision.

Decide what you want for 2019. Then, make the efforts to slowly but surely rise up and conquer with a loving heart and trust in your process. It is obvious to you now what you need to either let go of or restructure, particularly in the area of relationships. As you clear out what has now grown boring or stagnant, fresh new wa-ter will come into bless your life. And, yes, it is all worth it.

It is time to review all agreements, partnerships, investments and resources You are to prepare to begin a slow but steady climb to new peaks within your life. Believe it or not, age is just a number. Let nothing deter you or distract you. Your best motivator is you and your inner feeling that a new time has come. Make the most of it !

To keep your mane curly and your roar at full volume you need to consider at least one bucket list goal this year. Travel is the frontrunner so if you have been yearning to go somewhere get to it. Form the vision, trust in the resources available and start packing. The flow is there and you can meet surprising new people and op-portunities. This is a time to think a bit bigger and amp up the joy!

October 23 to November 21 So, now that things are a bit quieter it is time to settle down and reflect on goals. It is all about making new waves in the sense of what you can offer. This will demand different choices as well as setting your inner bar of what is important to you a bit more higher. Slow but steady progress over this year is the ideal balance. You have grown much so strut your stuff a little.

August 23 to September 22

Nov. 22nd – Dec. 21st

Solidify the feeling that the cosmos is what supplies you is top of the list Once this idea is firmly anchored have fun with 2019 in deepening your creative abilities and entertaining new ideas. There needs to be some fresh new energy garnered to keep the bloom on the rose for 2019. Keep it simple yet identify those areas in need of improvement. Move forward one step at a time and trust your process-always.

A new level of blossoming within you is set to take place over 2019. This means you need to turn your attention inward and consider new challenges. Pick two goals and focus. The time has come to generate a larger sense of wholeness as well as joy in all that you do. Make wiser choices relative to diet, exercise and body care. Downsize—this will give you fresh new space to create in every area.

Spiritual ASTROLOGY forecast for

JANUARY — We start off the year with a burst of energy as enthusiastic Mars moves into its own sign of Aries on New Year’s Day. Dream big and courageously for your resolutions! The solar eclipse in Capricorn cements your discipline. Uranus going direct gets old thought patterns out of the way and keeps them gone! With Venus and Jupiter linking up in Sagittarius, think before you spend. Maybe even look into tithing or other prosperity practices to open channels of abundance.

JULY — Mercury turns retrograde close to Mars and connecting with Uranus. This month is definitely an exercise in patience and compassionate understanding! Mercury is communication and Mars can be irritation or jumping to conclusions. Uranus can also be edgy. So, meditate before you speak or act! Egos are stirred up for everyone. People are a bit raw and wounded, so it’s nice to cultivate forgiveness toward everyone in your life. By month’s end you’ll be thanked for your gracious spirit!

FEBRUARY — All the planets are direct this month, so you can really have clear focus and successful actions with your goals. Venus in Capricorn steadies finances and relationships. Be sure to express gratitude for what you have in those areas to generate even more opportunities! Mercury is in Pisces, so meditate extra and work toward forgiveness to expand your heart and mind. You’ll be able to be peaceful and poised, yet able to spiring ahead when the time is right.

AUGUST — It’s a warm month weather-wise, but it’s also a warm month emotionally. With many planets in Leo, people are extra loving, generous and supportive. Venus, the planet of love, helps relationships begin very romantically, or makes romance rekindle in current partnerships. Jupiter turns retrograde, bringing spiritual reflection. Notice how you are walking your talk. Praise yourself and others often. Focus on gratitude and watch even more good stuff pour into your life. Finances that have been promised can be received now, too!

MARCH — Uranus moves into Taurus for the next seven years, bringing revolution to love and passion, as well as self-care. Especially with Mercury retrograde this month, meditate on your health and wellness goals. You can think deeper now and remember times when you felt good in these areas. Also ponder the highest possibilities for partnerships and how you can attain those levels of connection. Financial breakthroughs can happen as well. Get inspired by concepts about spiritual prosperity! APRIL — Mars in Gemini asks you to focus on clear communication. Be courageous and kindly speak your opinions and desires to others. Also, make the effort to listen to your heart and open that channel of intuition! With many planets in adventurous Aries, change up your meditation or yoga practice. You’ll reinvigorate your spiritual path. Take stock on your New Year’s resolutions as Jupiter and Pluto turn retrograde. Don’t be self-critical, just have gentle assessment and then make loving shifts. MAY — Saturn turns retrograde, which can create critical thinking. Luckily, many planets, including the Sun are in gentle, loving Taurus. In meditation and throughout the day, praise yourself for the efforts and progress you’re making. Be uplifting to others who are hard on themselves. It’s also a good time to explore healthy eating that is also sumptuous and tasty. Nutritious doesn’t have to mean bland! Create a dedicated area in your house for meditation or spiritual reflection. Make it a soothing, inviting space, so you’ll be tempted to spend time there each day. JUNE — Many planets are in the sign of Cancer this month, including Mars, which is where how your energy is directed. Lots of healing can happen around family and deep-seated emotional problems. Eating issues can also be addressed, especially when linked to depression or repressed anger. Meditate on compassion for family members and remember their personal struggles. Do the same for work colleagues. The attitude of “we’re all in it together” opens your heart and fills you with vitality!

SEPTEMBER — Mars, the planet of action, is in Virgo. Put attention toward your health. Can you clean up your diet? Or perhaps de-clutter your home so you feel more relaxed. Junk piled up creates unconscious tension! Meditate on being kind to yourself. Let your thoughts be life-affirming and optimistic. Saturn moves direct and lifts stress off relationships, whether family, work or romantic. Plenty of planets, including loving Venus, are in Libra, which is all about connecting from the heart. New bonds can begin. Even if partnered, ponder what you do want and don’t focus so much on what you don’t. OCTOBER — This month deepens your relationships. Pluto, the planet of investigation, turns retrograde, asking you to solve inner “issues” that interfere with harmony in partnerships. You can heal ways you’re at war with yourself, especially when it comes to addictions — with substances or even thought patterns. Finances flourish due to your honest internal stock-taking. Meditate on important decisions and commit to one course of action. Don’t torture yourself with “what ifs”. Just start moving ahead and adapt your path if you need to. NOVEMBER — Mercury turns retrograde in Scorpio, helping you think deeply about spirituality, commitments, life goals and finances. The power of belief is strong, so examine limiting concepts that block your fulfillment. Likewise, opening your mind and holding those expanded ideas and emotions create avenues for your dreams to manifest! Relationships improve by meditating on the positive and negative aspects of the partnership. Strive to be able to confront issues and work together toward improvement as a team. DECEMBER — Continuing last month’s theme, Mars moves into Scorpio, so there’s lots of energy to bravely focus on goals in a consistent way that brings results! Even better, Jupiter (abundance and good luck) enters Capricorn (finances and integrity) for a twelve month stay! Financial gains are obvious, but also relationship become more authentic. Career advances happen easily. Meditate on your heart and on who you are at your core. Life will unfold in all areas in a way that is dependable and comforting!

he New Year is typically a time for resolutions and a clean slate, with many people setting New Years’ Resolutions. I am one of those people, and looking back on years gone past, it is interesting to see the recurring failed and upheld goals each year. Rewind 6 years and what I was aiming to achieve is worlds apart from what I am aiming to achieve now. While a big transformation of mine has been my appearance, perhaps a bigger transformation is my mental progression and strength. I would argue that both the physical and mental growth have been interdependent, with the relationship between the two infiltrating all aspects of my life. Contrary to popular belief, 6 years ago was probably the first time I ever stepped foot in a gym. I had always been interested in sport and played tennis to a good standard throughout my youth. I can’t say at any point in my teens or very early-twenties did I make exercise a priority (in fact, one of my school reports in P.E. said I spent more time applying make-up than I did participating!) However, after seeing some very unflattering photos of myself on holiday, I decided that the university diet of alcohol and cheesy fries had come to the end of its life. I regained my interest in fitness by participating in three local half marathons and loved the adrenalin boost (as well as the novelty of being able to cast my water bottle aside like they do in the Olympics!), but my love of the gym really began by giving my boyfriend at the time my credit card to sign me up for a membership. I knew without that conviction, it would remain an open tab on my Internet browser. Forever being frugal, I was not about to pay for a monthly membership that I didn’t use, so I started going to group fitness classes. I found these so rewarding; seeing week on week progression along with the social aspect of meeting other like-minded people was a real positive influence. Over time, as well as becoming physically fitter, I noticed improvements in my posture too – causing me to ‘grow’ about an inch (and finally be taller than my Mom, a check mark on the bucket list I never thought I would be able to apply!) Though some of these classes used weights, they weren’t ‘proper weights’ (think lurid colored dumbbells that look like cat toys!) and I didn’t dare step foot in the weight room among all that testosterone. It took one of my friends competing in a bikini bodybuilding show (I had always previously thought bodybuilding was

You Cannot Grow Physically without Growing

for gigantic, masculine physiques), that I was persuaded to try the weights room. Only under strict supervision from a personal trainer did I ever enter there, but he persevered with me and taught me the basics. I became hooked; the feeling of the weights was so different to what I had encountered in the classes and I wanted more. He began writing me a training and nutrition program and taught me how to deadlift. A year or so later, I emigrated to the US and decided to challenge myself by signing up for a fitness photoshoot. I was put on a strict meal, cardio and exercise plan for about 20 weeks and dropped around 25lbs. It was a testing journey; much more mentally than physically. It taught me true grit and showed me just JANUARY 2019

how resilient and determined (stubborn you might even say!) I am. My calories got very low and my cardio got to be around 90 minutes a day near the end, but my adherence felt empowering. The day of the photoshoot was incredible; I felt self-satisfaction about my body that I had never felt before. The feeling of elation was fleeting as the weeks after were probably more mentally tough than the whole 20 week prep; I had no ‘exit strategy’; no plan for afterwards and felt so lost. I entered a horrible cycle of bingeing and starving myself and gained back around 20lbs of my lost weight very quickly. I felt like a complete failure. After hitting rock bottom, I hired another coach and began personal training sessions here in Tampa Bay Wellness

the US. That structure was exactly what I needed – less so for the accountability, more so for the actual guidance. I found that my training sessions were more intense; I was able to push through pain and never gave up. That initial prep where I had trained when I just wanted to cry really brought out the fighter in me, along with the feeling of never wanting to let myself down again. Working out at this point had solidified to be an integral aspect of my identity. Feeling such passion for health and fitness, I decided to start a blog and an Instagram, in the hopes of networking and finding like-minded people. It was one of the best simple decisions I have ever made. It has allowed me to share my everyday ‘fitness’ self with PHONE: 813-501-4894

those who want to hear/see about it and it has opened me up to a wealth of opportunities and introduced me to some of my closest friends. One of the opportunities was the offer to receive full coaching sponsorship in 2017. My training and nutrition were prescribed and I was coached through 2 bikini bodybuilding competitions, something I had always set on doing since I saw my friend compete in one several years prior. While I enjoyed the process, and was so much more mentally ready for

it having done the photoshoot before, it really just wasn’t for me. I found seeing my strength decrease so frustrating and could never really feel comfortable posing (anyone who knows me knows that strutting around in a bikini is just not my personality). I also came off stage expecting to feel invigorated and inspired, and I just left both shows with feelings of emptiness (and not just from hunger!) Having learnt the hard way before, I reverse dieted out of my shows (the process of slowly adding calories back in rather than going from 1,200kcal a day to 2,000 overnight) and actually dropped bodyweight. This time I kept the weight off (in fact, I currently am about 3lbs lighter than I was on stage). What I found I had enjoyed about bodybuilding was the competitive aspect…so I decided to pursue powerlifting. I went to watch a couple of friends compete in the latter half of 2017 and I just found the whole environment so uplifting. I wanted a piece of it. When my sponsorship ended, I decided to coach myself. Having been coached for many years on both training and nutrition, I felt I had a sufficient grasp to be able to take it on. I also signed up for my first powerlifting competition in February of this year….and loved it. I stood out as a complete rookie; from not having any of the gear to not knowing what was going on most of the time, but it didn’t matter. Competitors and judges alike were just so supportive and I found the environment invigorating and inspirational. I was part of a sport where world record holders were cheering me on to lift my ‘miniscule-in-comparison’ weights. It wasn’t until September of this year that I competed again; this time with a friend in Minneapolis. We both ended up winning the whole competition and one of the proudest moments of my life was my third deadlift; lifting 286.6lbs (2.5x my body weight). In November, I competed in my 3rd competition and won my weight class, qualifying nationally. I now have a new coach as I feel I need expertise far beyond my own to help me progress in the gym, but I still write my own nutrition plan (I may be small, but I put away a lot of food!) Even a year ago, I couldn’t possibly have imagined reaching this point in my fitness journey. My success this year is not in isolation; it is an accumulation of previous endeavors, good and bad, mental and physical. A new year is the perfect time for goal setting, but it is also a perfect time to realize that you can go far beyond any goal you have in mind. Onwards and very definitely upwards.

|| THEME It’s that time of year again, health and weight resolutions||are being made and we all look forward to transformative results.

Health is the basis of all our life’s activities. If we cannot feel good, and suffer from health challenges, our physical being, as well as our mental and emotional outlook suffers. Most of the time we formulate ambitious New Year’s plans of action. While action is crucial, it is important to establish a solid foundation for our plans. One simple but frequently overlooked aspect is the preparation before we start exercising – such as stretching. In the western medical and physical training paradigm, stretching affords many benefits. When done properly, the benefits include, ”warming” up the muscles through increased circulation, better joint movement, increased muscle coordination, and less tension. No matter what age, it is critical that we do all we can to nourish and protect our bodies. Static stretching, i.e. slow stretching in place with no movement, can help followed by slow movement specific to the particular exercise one plans to do. This may seem simple, but the fact is, that even high-caliber athletes follow this routine. You do not have to be an elite athlete to benefit from warming up, but one example from track and field, are 800 meter (half-mile) runners who are been known to warm up and jog two miles or more just prior to a race. This may seem to be excessive, but by the time they reach the starting line, they are are totally warmed up and ready for the demands of the race. So you can see that a simple stretching routine can help prevent injury and ensure one’s exercise be a positive experience. Western athletic / exercise stretching is a good start for almost any type of sport; however, most of our sports require expenditure of energy. This “external” expenditure draws energy from the body. Eastern medical and martial arts are a way to augment our exercise and health resolutions through building our internal energy. These exercises utilize the energy pathways inside of us to build overall health and well-being. Once this happens, we build our internal energy, and can achieve weight loss, fitness and play sports with vigor, happiness and joy. Internal energy can provide one with energy to accomplish life’s activities without having to expend a lot of our energy. A couple of the eastern methods which build our energy are yoga and qigong. Benefits from yoga include but are not limited to: improved flexibility, strength, and posture, tone body muscles, better all-round fitness, weight loss, increased energy, reduced stress, breathe better, be happier and become more mindful. These are obtained through stretching, breathing, chanting, and mindset. They can be combined with the western calisthenics and athletic warm up exercises. The five Tibetan rites are one of the many types of yoga renowned to help energize internal abilities as well as physical. Qigong, sometimes referred to as Chinese yoga can also benefit in similar manner as yoga. While it is confused with tai chi, it is not the exact same at all. Tai chi is usually practiced in a slow and gentle and doesn’t leave you breathless, it addresses the key components of fitness — muscle strength, flexibility, balance, and, to a lesser degree, aerobic conditioning. There are different types of qigong but it has similar benefits : loosens muscles and builds power, strengthens organs, improves cardio vascular and pulmonary function, strengthens nerves, prevents joint, ligament and bone damage, speeds recovery from illness and injury, builds athletic power, eases stress and facilitates emotional health, and benefits the aged and those with sedentary life styles. This, too, as with yoga could be combined with regular stretching or even substituted for it. Key to stretching, no matter what route you take, is to be gentle, slow, relaxed and breathe gently. Proper stretching may seem too simple, but it is, as shown above, a very important start to each workout. One fitness guru said that if one is stiff and cannot function or move easily, that is the next step to senescence. In fact, we actually do feel better once we warm up and move efficiently! Relax, stretch easily and enjoy!

Annuals/Bedding plants: Plants that can be added to the garden during the coolest months include dianthus, pansy, petunia, viola, and snapdragon. Bulbs: Crinum, agapanthus, and gloriosa lily bulbs can be planted now. Provide a layer of mulch to protect from cold temperatures. Camellias: Select and plant camellias this month. Visit local nurseries now for the best selection of colors and forms.

Cold protection: Be ready to cover tender plants to minimize damage and be sure covers extend all the way to the ground. Frost or freezes are likely this month and next. Irrigation: Irrigate lawns and landscape plants minimally. This is their dormant season. Shrubs and trees: Prune non-spring flowering shrubs and trees this month to improve form. Arbor Day: Celebrate Florida Arbor Day (the third Friday of January) by planting a tree in your yard or community. Crapemyrtle: Remove seed pods, crossing branches, and small twiggy growth to improve the appearance and form of the plant, if desired. Hard pruning is not required. Pests: Apply horticultural oil to citrus, shrubs, camellias, and deciduous fruit trees while plants are dormant to control scale.
