Three putting is the bane of most golfers but when they think about their three putts they often focus on the missed second putt. From outside of 20 feet three putts happen because the first putt was left too far from the hole. To get a better handle on two putting from long distances focus solely on the pace of your putts instead of the line. By all means read the putt and aim to the high point of the hole but focus intently on rolling the ball the proper pace so that it comes to a stop hole high. It could be two feet left or right but if it has the correct pace you will then have a simple two foot putt. A good way to practice this is to stand in the middle of the putting green while rolling some balls to the edge of the green. Without the hole to worry about you will focus on the pace required to get your ball from Point A to Point B. Carry this feel onto the course and you’re bound to have better pace and way less putts. REVIEWS Prompt and friendly service. Very professional and caring. Highly recommended! - Louis G. 8/15/2016 Overall Excellent Dental Experience. I was a little unsure at first about having two procedures done in the same day, but Dr Fallah and Dr Mesia, and their assistants Abbey and Sandra, coordinated their work efforts very efficiently. At one point both doctors were discussing my treatment with me at the same time, which really made me feel like I had a team of experts working on my problem. I had not been to a dentist in years, so I was somewhat apprehensive about going to the dentist. They made me feel very comfortable, and explained the costs involved with the different procedures I was having done. I would highly recommend Apex Dental to anyone. - Warren G. 9/8/2016 Very Professional and thorough. Very comfortable and inviting reception area and very helpful receptionist. The exam was comprehensive and the explanation very clear as to the next steps to be taken. Looking forward to my next appointment to discuss treatment plan and future preventive dental care. I would definitely recommend Apex Dental to all my friends and family members. - Jose G. 9/7/2016

ver the past few years, we have all seen Wesley Chapel truly begin to grow and flourish as a suburban community. For those who are new moving here, the neighborhoods of the area are constantly growing and expanding, adding more beautiful homes to our town. Being that we live in The Sunshine State, however, a major component of many of the homes in Wesley Chapel is a backyard pool. And to maintain a beautiful home, it is imperative to maintain a beautiful pool. Luckily, Backyard Pool Supplies has our

community covered! Starting out in 2011 as an online resource for delivering pool supplies to Wesley Chapel and New Tampa residents, owners Charlene and Dennis Kutzan decided to open a physical store at the Cypress Shopping Center after numerous requests from their customers. This location opened in April 2016, and offers an array of supplies needed for regular pool maintenance, including chemicals, equipment and expert advice. Charlene and Dennis left their corporate jobs and started their swimming pool business in 2008. They later expanded by acquiring what is known today as A-Quality Pool Service, a sister company to Backyard Pool Supplies, which provides Page 12

regular pool maintenance, repairs and equipment upgrades. Backyard Pool Supplies is the perfect retail store for do-it-yourself home owners looking for another choice to purchase parts and chemicals at affordable prices. So whether you are looking to work on your pool yourself, or looking for some help doing so, Backyard Pool Supplies is your one-stop shop. residents with any situation that may arise with their backyard pool. They are happy to help anyone solve the mystery of what’s going on behind issues they might be having, and will make recommendations based only on what is needed for the current situation. “Common issues that arise are leaks at pumps, staining, equipment failures and water chemistry balance issues, etc. and our philosophy is that a solid preventative maintenance program will go a long way in extending the life of your investment.” Charlene and Dennis encourage DIY pool owners to stay on top of regular cleaning, inspection of equipment, and replacements as necessary. Doing so can result in a longer life for the pool and related equipment, and can prevent owners from having to spend lots of money on large repairs and issues. If all of this sounds like a lot of work, don’t be too concerned - Charlene and Dennis have a full staff of trained and knowledgeable employees who are ready to help customers any way they can, so you know your backyard pool will be in good hands! So whether you need a new filter element, a variable speed pump or a new heater , Backyard Pool Supplies is your community resource for keeping swimming pools clean, clear and operating efficiently! Strange Thanksgiving

Traditions From Grandamericanadventures.com

Every Thanksgiving, the president pardons a turkey. Yes, you did read that correctly – the president of the United States of America takes time out of his day to grant a pardon to a large bird. This unusual and rather charming tradition began in 1947, when the National Turkey Federation presented the president (Harry Truman) with three turkeys – two dressed and one alive. He sent back the alive one, saying he’d ‘just let it grow’, and the tradition was born. Interestingly, the ritual of actually pardoning the spared turkey didn’t begin until 1989, with President George H W Bush.

Turducken Feasting is an integral part of any Thanksgiving celebration – but that in itself has brought about some strange traditions, one of which is the turducken. This is a turkey stuffed with a duck, which has itself been stuffed with a chicken. This penchant for packing as much meat as possible into a single dish has proved particularly popular in recent years, but it is hard to deny it is somewhat strange – even if you do deem it delicious!

Donating to charity is part of Thanksgiving, but the Las Vegas Turkey Trot is a little more unusual. Offering a variety of circuits (from 1 km to 12 km) for runners and walkers, it gives energetic Americans the chance to burn off their turkey feasts while raising money for charity at the same time.

Zion National Park For most Americans, Thanksgiving means a day at home with the family – and that means many attractions temporarily close their doors. Bucking both of these trends, the annual Thanksgiving Buffet in Zion National Park, Utah is certainly rather unusual. What’s more, not only does the park offer visitors the chance to enjoy a spectacular all-day buffet, but there are guided hikes available to help you walk off your feast.

Dale Forry, DLF Professional Painting Serves Wesley Chapel, Tampa, Lutz, Land O’ Lakes, Brandon and Odessa 813-949-9073 info@dlfpainting.com www.dlfpainting.com

lthough it is the first thing people often notice when they look at a home, how much have you really thought about the paint that gives your house its unique color? Most homeowners either simply chose a color when first building their home, or moved into a home with the color already in place, but many never stop to think about the quality of this paint or what they may need to do to maintain its vibrance. When I met with Dale Forry of DLF Painting, he clued me in on something I had no idea about- most building companies use a grade of paint that only has a life of 4 to 5 years before it starts to

years. Starting out by painting apartments for his neighbors, he quickly began to build a reputation among the community for his quality work. After some time, he expanded to residential and commercial properties, building his staff along the way and taking on projects all over the Pasco and Hillsborough area. Having owned several businesses during the decade prior, Dale says that he felt it was time to find his niche market and stick to it. For the last 18 years, DLF Painting has received an A Rating on Angie’s List, as well as receiving 16 Super Service Awards, which only 5% of the website’s members receive. Dale assures customers that he only

paint with anything lower quality, as he believes in the longevity of a project rather than using a cheap product that will have to be painted over in just a few years. Using the right type of paint is very important; the DLF Team collaborates with customers to help them choose the best paint color and type to match the look they want, so that the end result can be everything they dreamed it would be, as their primary concern is that you are happy with your home or business. In addition to painting services, Dale and his team also offer pressure washing, floor and deck coating, stucco and drywall repair, and light carpentry such as wood

fade. If you factor this in with the cost of having your interior and exterior repainted so often, you come out with quite a large expense- not to mention how difficult it can be to find a reputable painter who has ample experience in the industry. Luckily, DLF Painting has all of these bases covered and more. Dale has been living in Wesley Chapel since he was 5 years old, when the town was nothing more than a long road surrounded by cattle fields. He has watched Wesley Chapel grow and has grown his business with it over the last 25

hires painters who he knows will conform to his high standards, as DLF Painting is founded on the belief that customers should receive the highest quality service for their money. Because of this, the lowest grade paint DLF Painting offers is Sherwin Williams Superpaint, which is available for both interior and exterior paint jobs and can last up to 25 years before fading. Even in the case that something were to happen to the paint, Dale offers a 10 year labor warranty during which he will send someone to fix any issues. He refuses to

replacement. Many of the deals on DLF Painting’s Angie’s List listing include these services combined with a paint job so that your home or business can get all the touch ups it needs to stay looking beautiful. Be sure to check out their advertisement as well - this month’s special is 95 cents per square foot of wall space (depending on what grade of paint is used). So if you are looking to brighten up your walls with a fresh new color, now is a great time to look into DLF Painting. They guarantee quality results! •

Postal Customer The Community Magazine for Tampa Palms Area Residents

Dear Neighbor, Hi, I’m Lisa Crawford, concerned mom and 20 year resident of Tampa Palms. We’ve known the Harrisons since 1997 when we were neighbors in Wellington. Shawn has served Tampa Palms since 1996. As Chairman of our CDD, Shawn helped achieve our very first balanced budget. When he was our Tampa City Councilman he helped us get parks, bike paths, our Community Center, fought against overcrowding and made sure we had new roads and sidewalks as New Tampa grew. When we needed speed limit signs to slow down traffic at Chiles Elementary, he delivered.

Shawn Harrison, CDD Chairman

As our State Representative, he sponsored bills to protect the families of fallen police officers and service members. He was the Legislator of the Year in 2012 for the Fraternal Order of Police and in 2016 for the Florida Assisted Living Federation for his help with senior protection. He votes his conscience and crossed party lines to support families in need with Common Sense Medicaid Expansion. Shawn and his family live here, work here, and send their kids to school here. In short, he’s a good guy. Regardless of your political party, please join me in supporting a long-time resident and supporter of Tampa Palms, Shawn Harrison, for the State House of Representatives, District 63. Sincerely,

Lisa Crawford

Shawn Harrison, Ta mpa City Councilman
