COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT
What you need to know to RSVP for Lifestyle Events
1. Visit our Website: Visit www.egrandhampton.com to see upcoming events and click on the image of the event on the home page or on the event on the community calendar to bring you to that event’s page and click the “RSVP here” button. NOTE: Any event with a star next to it on the online community calendar needs an RSVP. 2. Know your log-in information: If you do not have one set up or need help, please email the website administrator at info@connecttoneighbors.com for assistance.
3. Check for age limits or restrictions: We have events for all ages so please make sure to check if the event is family friendly. Events that are just for adults will have an age limit listed on the event flyer or have the word “Adult” in the title.
4. Note if space is limited: Events may have limited space depending on the location and the nature of the event. Events that are held inside have a maximum number of attendees allowed because the clubhouse has a maximum capacity set by fire code standards. This maximum capacity is set and
followed to ensure the safety of our residents. 5. Check if the event is for Residents only: Make sure everyone in your party is a resident unless the event is open to the community or friends of residents. A few examples of events open to the community are the Fresh Markets and the Community Yard Sale. We look forward to seeing you at one of our many upcoming Grand Hampton events! Sincerely, Vicki Teter/Lifestyle Director Grand Hampton Grandhampton@melroselifestyle.com
Reminders for Driving in Grand Hampton
• Speed limit is 25 MPH. Please drive within the limit.
• Please come to a complete stop at Stop signs. • The vehicle in the traffic circle has the right of way, please yield.
• When parking in your driveway, please do not block sidewalk passage. Blocking sidewalks violates the Americans’ With Disabilities Act, a federal law, and causes an unsafe situation when pedestrians are forced to walk in the streets.
This is your neighborhood, so let’s keep it safe for you and your neighbors! Anyone walking / jogging in the dark should wear light clothes or reflective clothes, and carry a light of some sort for the safety of everyone. 8 • To Advertise Call: 813.501.4894

Lawn &
Garden
DECEMBER Plantings & Lawn Maintenance Plan to beautify your landscape with these tips for what to plant in DECEMBER and lawn maintenance measures! Excerpts are taken from http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu courtesy of University of Florida IFAS Extension.
What to Plant
Annuals/Bedding plants: To add color to the winter garden, plant masses of petunia, pansy, and snapdragon. Bulbs: Amaryllis is a popular plant for the holiday season. It can be forced to bloom now or planted outdoors for spring blooms. Herbs: Plant herbs that thrive in cool weather. Some examples include parsley, thyme, sage, dill, fennel, and cilantro. Vegetables: Reliable cool-season vegetables to plant this month include celery, cauliflower, lettuce, cabbage, and carrot.
What to Do
Poinsettias: Enjoy one of the most popular indoor holiday plants. Protect it from cold until spring, and then plant it in the garden for next year. Cold protection: Prepare now to protect tender plants should cold weather threaten. Houseplants: Inspect regularly for pests on indoor plants. Keep in mind that plant-specific temperature, light, and humidity are key to ensuring that indoor plants thrive. Soil test: Consider performing a soil test if plants do not perform as desired or if new plantings are planned.
