THE FUTURE Here in Australia, we’re lucky. We lead the way in protecting our oceans, with marine parks and sanctuaries providing fish with the space to breed, giving threatened species a home and creating a powerful network of tourism assets. NSW has a proud history of protecting its marine life. Successive governments on all sides of politics have recognised the importance of marine parks and share a legacy that towns, communities and the environment benefits from today thanks to their foresight. However NSW now faces the prospect of being the only place in the world to be taking a backwards step on marine protection. Let’s keep our marine parks intact. Our marine wildlife, our communities and our economy depend on it.
