Combining shadow puppetry and physical comedy, this is the story of a baby echidna BANQUET named “Spike”, who is stolen from his nest ROOM and hatches from his egg far away from home. A young girl befriends him as she plays alone in the bush, trying to escape bullies. He has no spikes yet and she doesn’t know what kind of creature he is, and accidently puts him in dangerous situations as she tries to find his home – in the nest of other animals. REDEVELOPMENT

Adelaide Festival Centre is delighted to be part of the redevelopment of the Riverbank precinct – a once-in-ageneration opportunity for South Australia. The Festival Centre works comprise the most significant capital infrastructure project undertaken since our doors opened in 1973. We’re looking forward to the results which include new northern access, refreshed foyers and bars, an arts playground for families and a technical upgrade for our aging sound, lighting and staging infrastructure. The Festival Centre redevelopment will commence from mid-2016. From this time there may be changes in the way that you access the Adelaide Festival Centre. We will communicate any changes to all of our ticket holders for example, ticket buyers will receive our Your Visit email a week prior to the show and a follow up text message the day prior or day of the show. CHILD SUPERVISION Something on Saturday is designed to be a shared experience between children and their families. All children must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for supervising their child to ensure a safe and secure environment for all.

PARENTING FACILITIES

There’s a parenting room in Festival Theatre Foyer, baby change facilities in disabled toilets and lots of room for pram parking at Adelaide Festival Centre events. Adelaide Festival Centre is a breast-feeding friendly organisation and welcomes babies to be breastfed in any public area of our premises.


CAR PARKING

The Festival Centre car park will close at the end of June 2016 so we have joined forces with Wilson Parking to offer all ticket holders a deal at Wilson Parking Adelaide Central car park on North Terrace. Patrons will receive a promotional code prior to each show, which offers a significant discount at Adelaide Central car park when booked via the Wilson Book a Bay website or app: bookabay.com.au Other Wilson car parks in the vicinity are Wilson Hindley St and Wilson Adelaide Oval - please see map above. Please note that the discount applies to Wilson Parking Adelaide Central on North Terrace only.

SNACKS Visit the Elder Park Kiosk or Foyer bars for drinks, tasty treats and healthy options. The Festival Theatre cafĂŠ is open for Festival Theatre performances (prior to the redevelopment).
