At 12 years old, Roddy is an old boy, and it is tragic when an old dog is abandoned as he was. All we are looking for is a long-term foster home for Roddy, so that he can spend sometime in a home environment, instead of a kennel. He doesn’t demand much and is very easy to look after. Could you be his long-term foster carer. Please contact Yvonne on 630 422 563 if you want to meet Roddy. Diesel is a lovely black cat, and one of many black cats in the APAH Cattery. Sadly very few black cats are chosen for adoption and given a chance at a loving home. Can you give a lovely black cat the chance of a happy home life? To arrange to visit the APAH Cattery, please contact Yvonne on 630 422 563.

Thank you

Smile Charity Group enjoyed a resounding success with their latest offering of an originally scripted mini Pantomime. This was performed at The Hotel Marina, in Benidorm on Boxing Day, with further performances at The Marjal Camp Site, The Club – Quesada, and El Alto La Dolores Restaurant. Tickets were completely sold out well before each night, and audiences described the production as “excellent entertainment”; “it was so much fun” and “when are you doing the next one?”. Of course, this small group of individuals, perform primarily to raise money for various charities. As a result of this ‘mini tour’, they were able to raise over 700 euros for Elche Children’s Home, 530 euros for the Benijófar Crisis Appeal, and another 500 euros for Altea Children’s Home. A great achievement, you’ll agree!

In November 2013, APAH Animal Rescue Charity suffered a huge shock, when Buena Adamson; a very special lady, who was a volunteer in their shop in San Miguel de Salinas died suddenly. Everyone was stunned, especially her devoted husband and sister; Jim and Pat; who is also a volunteer in the shop. Buena’s family travelled over from the UK and were joined by many of APAH’s volunteers at her funeral service in San Pedro. There, it was announced that a collection would be taken, and it was the family’s wish to donate it to APAH. Donations to the collection have been coming in ever since, from many of the neighbours and friends which Jim and Buena made during the time she lived in San Miguel. Last Thursday APAH was humbled and delighted to accept 475 euros. It is a wonderful amount, which was born out of tragedy, but APAH wants to assure everyone who wanted to honour Buena’s memory by donating, that every single euro will be spent on the dogs and cats in APAH’s care.
