0 1 A R T I S T’ S R E S I D E N C E PROJECT BRIEF AIM: To design a single user residence for an artist. LOCATION: Shantinagar, Manipal, Udupi district, Karnataka. CLIMATE: warm and humid. ABOUT: the flat site is located on the top of a hill with a flattering view of the western ghats.

02 PERFORMING ARTS INSTITUTE PROJECT BRIEF AIM: To design a perfoming arts institute.

LOCATION: Jeppu road, Mangalore, Karnataka.

CLIMATE: warm and humid.

ABOUT: Located near the National Highway 66 and in close proximity to other educational institutions. The institute specialises in south Indian classical music, dance and drama.

Prefab wall panels of dimension 1.2m x 3m have been used.

INTERACTIVE SPACES

The academic block is the main building and activities revolve around it. Hence location its location at centre so that it is accessible for every kind of user.

Centralised access leading to a main node from where all blocks are accessible by subcirculation pathways.

Open informal Interactive areas located in between blocks to encourage outdoor performances and other activities like street play and riyaaz for singers.

Planning aims at creating an environment which teaches the gurukul way of life.

Landscape between buildings used as open ‘riyaz’ areas.

Classrooms can be held in courtyards too as shown above.

03 BOUTIQUE HOTEL PROJECT BRIEF AIM: To design a boutique hotel which will cater to both local and foreign tourists alike.

LOCATION: Car street, Mangalore, Karnataka.

CLIMATE: warm and humid.

ABOUT: Located in the heart of Mangalore, surrounded by 8 temples as well as multiple commercial complexes.

04 PLANETARIUM PROJECT BRIEF AIM: To design a planetarium and science museum.

LOCATION: Pune, Maharashtra

CLIMATE: Tropical wet and dry

ABOUT: A flat site located at the outskirts of Pune, but surrounded by various schools and a university.

• Ramped gallery which spirals around the sky theatre dome.

05 BOTTLE DESIGN FOR ELDERLY BOTTLE 1: THE INFUSER

• The twist allows you to hold the bottle with both hands. • Firm and comfortable grip. • Has a filter and infuser inside. • Hence very useful for the elderly.

BOTTLE 2: THE PILO

• Concept derived from the neck pillow. • Can be used as a bottle as well as a neck pillow.

BOTTLE 2: THE DOSE

• Inspired from the jug which is very commonly used in every Indian household. • The grip has been designed in such a way that it can be used from either side. • Container at the base of bottle with various compartments to keep pills in.
