|< < 1 2 3 4 5 ... 577 578 579 > >| 24 Nov 2016 A bespoke membership app for the Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO) is being created with TFI Group leading the development following a full tender process.  ABPCO’s strategy day in Belfast earlier this year gave the association’s board the opportunity to discuss the thoughts and feedback of its membership from the annual engagement survey. One of the key points raised was that members desired further value when it came to engaging, connecting and sharing with other members.  It was this feedback that prompted discussion about an app that would innovate and offer the opportunity to form a closer connection between members with the sharing of expertise, research and content. The app will also promote the association’s news and events as well as promoting to non-members.  “The app was something that was heavily discussed at the strategy meeting earlier this year and created a lot of excitement amongst us all,” explained Nicole Leida, joint-chair of ABPCO. “Every year we use a survey to gather feedback and opinion from members and it was clear that there was a real desire for further opportunities to share, connect and engage with peers. Not only will the app allow members to do this but it will also give us another tool to promote the association as a whole. The tender process was hard fought but we are delighted to be working with TFI Group on a bespoke mobile application that we believe will really add further value to ABPCO’s membership.”  Some of the main features of the app will be a community chat wall, a calendar of association events, member profiles, feedback questionnaires and a direct messaging facility plus much more to be revealed. ABPCO and TFI Group is hopeful that the app could be ready for download and membership use by the association’s member conference and AGM in January 2017.  “We are very excited to be working on creating something quite special for ABPCO and its members,” commented Adam Said, Account Manager at TFI Group. “The focus of the app is on simplicity, to be intuitive and promote ease of use whilst offering all the tools members need to help them connect with their peers. The app is going to be unique to ABPCO giving the association a real advantage when it comes to not only promoting itself but the work and successes of its members too. It’s an exciting project and one we are very proud to be leading on.”

Conference Partners wins Best Conference by an Agency Conference Organiser at the ABPCO Excellence Awards 2016 It is with great pride that Conference Partners is delighted to announce that it was awarded the 'Best Conference by an Agency Conference Organiser' at the ABPCO Excellence Awards 2016. The announcement was made during the ABPCO Chairmen's Lunch & Excellence Awards in Manchester Central before an audience of 80 association professionals on Friday, 9th December 2016. Conference Partners was shortlisted to present their submission on the delivery of one of Europe's leading science conferences, the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) 2016 and was awarded based on the event's lasting impact and attendee votes secured on the day. In partnership with the University of Manchester, Manchester City Council supported by Marketing Manchester, local government, the European Commission and many commercial organisations, Conference Partners successfully delivered ESOF 2016 in Manchester Central between 23 and 27 July. The UK has a world renowned reputation for scientific endeavour, medical discoveries, innovative technologies and an entrepreneurial spirit and this was the first time that ESOF was held in a UK city, attracting 3,542 delegates from 80 countries, 800 international speakers and 64 exhibitors. For 4 days, this global gathering of Nobel laureates, leading researchers, policy makers, business leaders, international media and general public enjoyed a rich platform for debate and exchange of ideas on a variety of topical issues. The conference featured keynote addresses delivered by renowned Manchester physicist, presenter and author, Professor Brian Cox, UK national treasure, Sir David Attenborough and a live video link with Tim Peake, a UK astronaut. Conference Partner's Managing Director, Nicola McGrane said: "The ABPCO Excellence Awards celebrates the demonstration of excellence and leadership in association conference and event organisation, so it is a genuine honour for Conference Partners to receive this accolade. We believe ESOF 2016 topped its forerunners based on exceptional planning, management and implementation but most of all, its impact in terms of delegate satisfaction, cost-effectiveness and legacy to the city of Manchester. The most rewarding element for Conference Partners was the successful collaboration between the city stakeholders, industry, academia and the professional suppliers who helped us to deliver the event and the collective talent that worked together to create ESOF 2016, the most successful conference in the history of the EuroScience Open Forums".

Overall the quality of the show is incredible, particularly the exhibitors and stand staff - they clearly want to do business. In contrast to other shows I have attended, there is a far greater depth of knowledge, a desire to talk and develop relationships for all involved.
