Paris Immortal: Absolutions Selling points ______________________________________ About the book: Trey is getting used to his life. Vampires? Not a problem. Voices of the dead? Par for the course. It’s his own tumultuous past and the painful memories it contains that cause the most grief. When Trey’s friend Scott returns to his life, he can start trying to overcome even those problems.

Meanwhile,Trey’s immortal boss, the stunning Michel, has assumed his rightful position in Paris and is dealing with his own issues. The captivating Elise requires his aid, but her presence threatens to force a rift between his partner Gabriel and him, just as it had in their past.

Trey will learn the full extent of the mysterious powers that come with being a bridge between the living and the dead. But not all power is good, and even the best intentions can have disastrous consequences.

* The vampire/horror genre has a growing female market, which this series will appeal to greatly. *Genre readers are quick to latch on to series, and Roit is planning more books involving the same cast of characters. *Roit is active in the genre community; she knows her audience and how to connect with them.*Horror is a growing genre for Snowbooks, and a lot of our energy will be spent making these books a success. *Roit is active in soliciting phone and print interviews. We have engaged and briefed a PR firm to manage a campaign about the rise of interest in horror books and stories * Key characyers are gay, so some relevance for G&L ranges * Fundamentally, this is a sexy, charged, brilliant novel with appeal beyond its genre boundaries * Will be entered into all eligible prizes and proof copies available well in advance.

About the author: In love with books upon reading the first printed word as a child, S. Roit also loved “invisible friends” and the other world of her mind. Constantly told to stop talking to herself, and when not reading, in her room playing all the parts in her own skits, she had no trouble entertaining herself. She wrote a few poems, sang in a band and wrote lyrics, and enjoyed role-playing for hours on end. Often told she should publish, she began writing novels. She currently resides in Seattle, Washington with one husband, two cats, and the twenty or so people in her head she insists are real enough, with stories to tell. 05/04/2009 • £19.99• Library HB • pages 198mm x 129mm • ISBN 9781906727000

Burning Out * Like The Time Travellor’s Wife, a combination of holiday reading with a mildly supernatural twist *A classic summer reading novel * Author signing sessions available * Online review coverage planned * Our lead general fiction summer title with the focus, attention and budget to fit. * A reinvention of the classic ghost story: the main character is haunted by her past self *Entered into every eligible prize including Richard and Judy

About the author: Katherine May’s work stems from a fascination with ghost stories, and in her 2006 collection of short stories, Ghost & their Uses, she reimagined ghosts into new settings, often playing with the idea of a haunting in all its ambiguity and construction. Burning Out takes this idea one step further - the central character is haunted by a past self, an experience that offers her the same mirror on her life that a more traditional ghost might have done. 01/07/2009 • £7.99• B Format Pbk • 350 pages 198mm x 129mm • ISBN 9781906727390
