CANCER?

Written by Robert A. Eslinger, D.O., H.M.D.

ancer screening tests are invaluable tools that, if used properly, can give an early warning that a cancer has started growing in the body.

The problem with many of the conventional tools is the toxicity that comes along with them. Studies in England have shown conclusively that regular mammograms over time cause an increased incidence of cancer due to the radiation. Other tests, such as CAT scans, bone scans, X-rays and PET scans, all involve differing levels of radiation. It is even controversial as to weather a biopsy of a suspicious lump will contribute to the cancer spreading. What is a person to do? Fortunately there are some new tests and panels of tests that are increasingly available around the world and are able to detect cancer years before the clinical lump or bump stage of cancer has developed. The value of these tests is that finding the abnormal results early enough helps patients begin taking their health more seriously, motivating them to make necessary changes in diet, exercise, elimination of sugar and smoking, detoxification and immune support. When these simple strategies are started long before the detectable lump stage of cancer has developed, they permitted the cancer screening test abnormalities to revert back to safe, healthy levels. First, a simple blood test for a specific enzyme called “nagalase”, which is secreted by cancer cells, can be sent to a lab in Holland. An elevated level reveals a high suspicion for cancer somewhere in the body.

Second, a test called the “Oncoblot” is another blood test that is done in Indiana. It was developed by the former head of chemistry at Purdue University. It can not only determine if there is cancer present but it can also tell which organ it is growing in. A third approach is the use of what is called a “CaProfile”. It uses an extensive panel of conventional tests and established cancer markers to determine the chances of developing, or the actual presence of, many types of cancer. It is time to recognize that cancer can be detected in an early enough stage that the true healing power of the body can be harnessed and given the support it needs to eliminate the “disease” and restore health.
