Sunday Best is an up and coming, UK based online store, stocking A mixture of collectable and bespoke vintage garments, which have been hand picked by the founders, to suit their particular taste and direction. The pieces will be of the highest quality, vintage but with a modern contemporary feel, perfect for calling your Sunday Best.

The audience for Sunday Best will be both men and women aged 20 - 30. This person may have an interest in vintage clothing and owning bespoke, unique and rare cloths that have been carefully selected. They will have an appreciation of quality when in comes to fashion and owning clothes that stand the test of time.

As Sunday Best are a start up business they will be in need of design across many fashion collateral such as: Look book, swing tags, receipts of purchase, labels, packaging, website and of course a Logo for this brand. BRIEF FOUR

The purpose of Sunday Best is to up cycle old clothes that class a ‘vintage’ and of the highest quality. They aim to only sell clothing that has an element of high quality and luxury to it. Within this brief I will have to represent this. It will be my job to give this company an identity so that began as a business.

Sunday Best will be an online company, that will sell their products via the medium of the internet. They will have the online shop and work from a location such as where house where they will collate all the produce. It will be an independently run business so things like packaging up an order will all be done by hand. BRIEF FOUR

As Sunday Best is a brand that is centred around vintage clothing I want the logo to have connections / similarities to vintage clothes labels. The brand takes vintage clothes and add a contemporary twist, and this is what I want the logo to do.

I want to represents the quality and longevity of the vintage clothing. A lot of the time today clothes fall apart or don’t have that same level of craftsmanship as clothing from yeastier year. Stitching in clothing is a way to telling the quality and this is something I want to experiment with. BRIEF FOUR

I have decided to research into graphic design within fashion to gain a better understanding into what collateral I need to produce. I have been looking at simplistic design within the retail sector as I feel this bodes a level of sophistication that I want to achieve through my branding of Sunday Best.

I have been experimenting with different kinds of sewing and stitches as I want to find a way I can incorporate this concept of a stitch into the branding. I really like the aesthetic and I think the concept of a stitch representing the quality of the clothes works well. BRIEF FOUR

PATTERN:

I chose to use Half Cut as a typeface as it is a contemporary modern typeface. This will complement the concept of the vintage high quality clothing that has a contemporary feel. It is a simple sans serif font that will complement the simple aesthetic of the timeless cloths.

For the logo I have developed a system where each clothing line is represented by a different stitch. The stitches can be used as a symbol that can represent the clothes line in a simplistic way.

Using the different stitches I have derived a pattern that could be used to represent the whole range of clothing. It features the stitch for menswear, womens wear, kids wear and accessories. When the pattern uses the stitches collectively it showcases the design as stitches clearly. BRIEF FOUR

RECEIPT :

The business card features the different variations of the logo with the stitch aesthetic. On the back the information is kept simplistic with a link to the website and a short description about Sunday Best so that people are aware of what it is.

Sunday Best is an online store and so there is no real shop for human interaction, to maintain a personable level for Sunday Best the receipt would be hand written on a sunday best receipt pad. There is a receipt pad for each line of Sunday Best so that the receipts are clear. BRIEF FOUR

LOOK BOOK: The look book features clothing from womens wear, menswear, kids wear and the accessories line rather than splitting the lines into four books. By having all the lines in one book it allows people to look through all the range which will be beneficial as although it may not be for that individual person they may see something for someone else.

WEBSITE: Sunday Best will run via an online shop. The website will be divided into sections of menswear, womens wear, kids wear and accessories. By splitting the site into specific areas it will make it more simplistic and user friendly which is something that is important at Sunday Best. BRIEF FOUR
