Principals Report Dancers Perform at Chifley College Dunheved
Our Cultural dance Group performed at Chifley College Dunheved on Tuesday of this week for the High School’s Multicultural day. To say they brought the house down would be an understatement. As our children took to the performance space and begin their dancing, the crowd were cheering and clapping. Mrs Riberio, the Principal of Chifley College Dunheved spoke with me about how impressed she was with our school’s contribution. Well done dancers and thank you to Mrs McKenzie, Mrs Rankine, Mrs Guy, Mrs Terry, Mrs Leatupue and Mrs Letaulia for your support of our children.

Executive Director Award
When a staff member receives a special award it is a great honour for the recipient and our school. At a ceremony in Epping last week Mrs Luzaic, our Deputy Principal Instructional Leader received the Executive Director’s award for significant contributions to Public Schools. Mrs Luzaic was the chosen award winner for the whole of the Cambridge Park network and we warmly congratulate her as she has been recognised for the outstanding work she does that has such a positive impact on our staff, children and community.

In Week 8 of this term our school held its annual performing arts night at the Colyton High School Hall. This was an amazing night that showcased the talents of our children. It was wonderful to see so many of our school community attending to enjoy the show. Well done to Lawrence and Sienna who did an outstanding job as comperes for the night. I would like to thank our P&C and parent helpers who came to run the BBQ, canteen and coffee van. I would also like to thank Miss Ventura and Mrs Rankine who organised the evening as well as all staff and parents who helped in getting our children ready for their performances. Congratulations Laga and Anastasia
Huge congratulations and well done to Laga and Anastasia for their achievements in league. Anastasia was selected to play in the Sydney West Girls Touch Football team and the Sydney West Rugby 7s team. Laga was selected for the Sydney West Boys Touch Football team and the Sydney West Open Boys Rugby League team. These outstanding achievements are due to the dedication and commitment to sport that Laga and Anastasia always demonstrate. Well done.

Cardboard Arcade
Well done to the Stage 3 classes for another successful cardboard arcade day. Last week our students from Stage 3 showcased their problem solving skills and creativity as they designed and built cardboard arcade games that were shared with all the children in the school. They demonstrated that learning can be challenging and a lot of fun. Thank you to all of the Stage 3 teachers for the impactful work you have been doing with your children.

Key Dates

26-30 OCT

School Arrival Time
I have noticed a number of children arriving at school well before 8:30 in the morning. No staff are on duty at school before 8:30, so there is a potential safety issue if your child enters the school before that time. There is also no need for parents to come into the school before 8:30 in the morning as the school office is not open before that time. If you have to go to work and need your child supervised, there is an Out Of School Hours (OOSH) service that is run on site by YMCA. For bookings & enrolments at the St Marys YMCA OOSH call the YMCA Childcare Team on 1300 009 679 or St Marys YMCA OOSH on 0419271662.
Children are not supervised on the school site before 8:30am unless they are attending the YMCA OOSH service. Next Term
Next term will begin on Monday October 14. In Weeks 1 and 2 we will be running Swim School for those children from Year 2 and up who have paid and have brought in a note. In Week 3, from October 28 to October 30 many of our children will be away at the Primary camp. In Week 4 on Wednesday November the 6th we will be having our whole school Multicultural Day. We are looking forward to these events next term and I hope over the next two weeks all of our staff and children have a safe and enjoyable holiday. Robert Linas
 Principal, St Marys Public School.
