Here at Smith’s Saddle Butte Ranch, we strive to bring you the best genetics. We focus on high marbling and ribeye bulls in our herd, so when they pass those traits down through their calves, you as producers, will be able to cash in on those profits. As producers we all know the higher grading cattle get paid premiums, and we want that to trickle back to your pocketbooks. We work hard to produce bulls that qualify for the Certified Angus Beef certification. In our catalog you will find 80% of the bulls meet the criteria to be labeled CAB! This is just one of the things that set us apart, only one in four animals in the entire angus breed meet the most challenging specifications to be awarded CAB and we are at 80%, it’s not just the bulls that we use, the foundation has been set with a rock solid set of cows also. Using our bulls will give you the opportunity to qualify for value-added programs when selling your calves.
The next thing that sets us apart is our uncompromised commitment to weaning weights with an average 205 weight of 690 lbs. Our cows age well and produce high weaning calves; many times you will find cows that are over ten years old still producing bulls that weigh well over 600 pounds.
Finally, we sell the top end bulls everything else has been culled out. We believe that if grass and water can’t raise a good bull then they should be cut, these are actual ranch raised bulls, therefore none of these bulls have been creep fed or raised on corn. After weaning they are put on a moderate ration and free choice of ground hay, giving you, as producers, quality bulls without the BS! They are not overfed to unrealistic 205 or 365 day weights, we have found that pushing them hard for those weights has led to bad feet and we want these bulls to be in your herd for years to come.

GUARANTEE
All bulls are fully guaranteed for loss of use in the first breeding season. If a bull is determined unusable, by a vet, the bull will be replaced if one is available, or credit will be given in the next year’s sale. We value and respect a good customer relationship. Please notify us as soon as possible to discuss arrangements.
BRAND INSPECTIONS
A brand inspector will be available Sale Day.
SEMEN TESTED
All bulls have completed a breeding soundness evaluation and will be tested later in the spring.
HERD HEALTH
All cattle have had a complete vaccination program from birth to weaning. A veterinarian will be on hand Sale Day to write health certificates for those requiring them.
DELIVERY & FEEDING ARRANGEMENTS
We are offering free delivery on all bulls within 300 miles. We are offering free keep on the bulls until April 15 pending weather. If you decide to take your bull home sale day, we will give you $100 off your bull.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
The cattle will sell under the standard terms and conditions as recommended by the American Angus Association.
