The Eindhoven region in the Netherlands is known for its design and innovative manufacturing industry. It is this creative hotspot from which Chameleon draws its inspiration and contributes to. Our products are delivered daily to more than 50 countries worldwide. The production has been taking place in our own production facilities in Geldrop in the Eindhoven region for 47 years. Chameleon quality

The core of the Chameleon range is formed by the whiteboard. A Chameleon whiteboard can be recognized for its quality, which is visible in four ways:

1. Durability: Chameleon whiteboards are 10 mm thick with a robust, water-repellent MDF core (FSC-certified, see sustainability).

2. Surface: Chameleon whiteboards feature high-quality magnetic ceramic steel, recognizable by a smooth surface without imperfections. We offer a lifetime warranty on writing and erasing on all ceramic steel surfaces. Below is an overview of our ceramic steel surface options.

3. Finish: Chameleon whiteboards are machine-cut and then hand-finished. We pay great attention to the finishing process.

What is Ceramic steel?

All Chameleon surfaces on this page feature a top layer of ceramic steel. This is an enamel layer that is comparable to glass in terms of hardness and smoothness. Thus, it is equally scratch-resistant and has the same long lifespan. Chameleon offers the following ceramic steel surfaces:

High Gloss

This is the best-selling whiteboard surface. The surface has a high gloss level, though not as high as glass whiteboards. The advantage of the glossy surface is that markings are perfectly visible on it. This makes it ideal for presentations and situations where reading from a distance is necessary, such as in schools.

Satin Tones

SatinTones is a ceramic steel surface with a matte appearance. The surface radiates calmness and is perfectly readable from all angles. Moreover, this surface is available in six subtle colour shades. SatinTones is a good alternative to glass whiteboards.

Chalk

Choosing a chalkboard has specific reasons. The main reason is that nuances can be applied with chalk by pressing harder or softer. The Chameleon chalkboard surface is, like the whiteboard surfaces, made with ceramic steel. As a result, Chameleon chalkboards are also perfectly erasable for life. The matte surfaces are available in green and grey.

Projection

This extremely matte surface shows no reflections at all. Projecting onto this board provides the best possible image quality from projectors. The board is writable, but erasing is significantly more challenging. However, using whiteboard spray when erasing will clean the board effectively.

Chameleon whiteboards are delivered with the TÜV certified Chameleon magnetic mounting system. Magnetic mounting is very easy, and we supply a specified assembly drawing with each custom Chameleon whiteboard wall we sell.

Chameleon quality

Chameleon Glassboards and Glass Walls feature extra clear, low-iron glass. As opposed to normal glass, these products do not have a green hue. As such, the 18 different glassboard colours will come out perfectly.

Colour usage is a powerful tool in interior design because it strongly influences the atmosphere and feel of a space. The 9 mm PET felt is used for the Sharp and Curve Walls and the 9 mm Single Layer Covering. The 18 mm PET felt (2 layers of 9 mm) is used for the Elements and the Creative Panels.

Material

Chameleon Acoustics is made of 100% recyclable polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a part of which is derived from recycled PET bottles. These materials are processed to create sound-dampening felt with a soft structure.

Thickness and dimensions

The thickness of the PET felt panels is 9 or 18 mm, and the maximum panel size is 120 x 240 cm.

Mounting

Chameleon Acoustics products are mounted on the wall in 3 different ways.

• Magnetic: quick, easy, and re-mountable. The panels (Elements) can be easily mounted and aligned relative to each other.

• With kit (not included): preferred for complete wall coverage (Walls and Coverings). The initial adhesion is flexible enough to allow the panels to be slightly adjusted during the final positioning.

The 25 mm PET felt is used for 25 mm Optimal.

Ecological footprint

Chameleon 25 mm Optimal consists of 100% recyclable PET felt, partly made from recycled materials. The material has a small ecological footprint because it is produced locally.

• Free of formaldehyde.

• ÖKO-TEX® standard 100 product class 1 certified (no harmful substances).

• European production with fibres manufactured in Europe.

The Chameleon 25 mm Optimal panels are mounted with adhesive (not included): the preferred choice for complete wall covering. The initial adhesion is flexible enough to allow the panels to be slightly adjusted during the final positioning of the panels.

Colours

Chameleon can apply almost any NCS, PMS, RAL, or other colour system—approximately—on the felt surface. With lighter colours, the felt structure remains visible on the surface, while it is less visible with darker colours. This way, the best-suited colour shade can be chosen for any interior. To select the right colour shade and experience the effect on the felt surface, we warmly invite you to visit the Chameleon Showroom in Geldrop. (Chameleon 25 mm Optimal is partially made from recycled materials. Small colour variations may occur between different batches.)

Full colour print

An acoustic panel with full colour (photo) print. Using sublimation technology, images are printed on Chameleon 25 mm Optimal with razor-sharp quality. The colour white is displayed as transparent. This means that the basic colour of the felt, including the felt structure, becomes the most visible.

This product allows Chameleon to live up to its name. 25 mm Optimal is a highly sound-absorbing wall covering that can be made in any colour. The colour is approximately printed on the panel. There are four different V-cut designs to choose from, which are cut into the panel. In this V-groove, the gray base colour of the panel is visible instead of the printed surface colour.

• 25 mm thick PET felt with excellent acoustic properties.

• European-produced PET felt, partially made from recycled fibers.

• Base colour of PET felt is light grey, colour is printed on the surface. The printing colour may slightly vary from the chosen colour on each panel.

• The sides of the panel are beveled (bevel-cut), concealing seams in the V-cut pattern.

• Mounting with adhesive.

For this product, a quotation is offered based on wall dimensions. The wall is filled with multiple panels, each measuring up to 150x300 cm. The required height is custom-cut and delivered, with the pattern for patterns OPT111 and OPT112 being scaled accordingly. For patterns OPT109 and OPT110, the patterns are cut to fit the height. In terms of width, the panels maintain a width of 150 cm. Filler pieces are made to complete the wall.

2.13 Creative Divider Panels

A double-layer panel of 18 mm, consisting of two layers of 9mm PET felt. Different colours can be chosen for the front and back layers. The pattern cutout goes through both layers. This creates a see-through effect when the panel is freely hanging in the space.

The Divider Panels are supplied with steel cables for hanging from both fixed and suspended ceilings. They can be hung up to 2 meters below the ceiling with an adjustable connector.
