When reading, surfing the web, or checking your email... If possible, invest in a exercise ball and swap it out with your desk chair. The slow bouncing motion helps to tone your core, butt, and thighs. Squats are the next best thing to an exercise ball. Also try holding your legs straight out instead of bending them when sitting. This simple movement will surely work all muscles in your legs and core.
If youâ€™re on your phone or tablet or are reading a book, put it on the floor in between your arms while in a plank position. Reading will distract from the pain, I promise!
When checking your mailbox, walking to the car or bringing the trashcans in... Think of any exercise that requires you to move from one place to another. The most obvious answer is running, but the more practical answer is lunges. Also try parking your car further away from your destination. The longer the walk equals the more calories burned!
When walking up the stairs... A flat-footed walk will help tone your butt whereas walking on the balls of your toes will help tone your thighs and hamstrings. Running up and down the stairs is a great cardio. Try skipping a few steps and lunge walk up the stairs for a killer leg workout.
