PICK and CHOOSE

Det består av korta och intresseväckande texter på teman som On the Beach, A Visit to the Doctor, Eating and Drinking och Midsummer.

Two men are trying to rob a bank. It's very hot. They are alone there. After the explosion, all the safes are open. There is money and jewellery on the floor.

Crook 1

Put your mask back on, stupid! Someone can see who you are.

Crook 2

Well, I can't breathe with a mask on. And now I can't find it. I had it in my pocket. Now, it's gone.

Crook 1

Gone? You must be mad. You're a robber. Remember? And robbers wear masks. Do you want to go to prison?

Crook 2

Of course I don't. But it's too hot to wear a mask today. It's the hottest day of the year. My face is all wet.

Crook 1

Oh, you're just too stupid.

Crook 2

Well, I'm an expert with dynamite.

Crook 1

Yeah, and that's about the only thing you're good at. You're a complete idiot!

B. Right or wrong?

WRONG

1. The men are murderers. 2. Crook 2 thinks it's too hot to wear a mask.

Crook 1

No, never! I'll say it again. You are a complete idiot! And I mean it!

3. Crook 1 wants to go to prison.

Crook 2

So you think I'm a fool. Well, I'll teach you. Hands up! Kiss my shoes! NOW!

4. They want people to see who they are. Kopiering förbjuden se sid 2

A Pet in School

Hi, I’m Debbie, the hamster. I live in a big cage in a big classroom. The children are here Monday to Friday. But they come here and give me something to eat on Saturdays and Sundays, too. I like maths best. But I like history, biology and geography, too. I know where Stockholm is on the map. Do you know where it is? Well, let me tell you. Stockholm is a city in Sweden. And Swedish people speak Swedish.

You see, I’m a hamster, and we are good learners. I can read and I can write. I can write with a pencil, and I can use a keyboard. You see, in the afternoon I start reading. There are lots of interesting books here. So now I can spell. I know the alphabet and everything. I’m good at maths, too. Two plus two is four. You see?

Hi, ______________________________________________ starts at eight every day of the week.
