here’s still so much to do. As her son’s May due date approaches, Ali Fedotowsky needs a car seat, a stroller and, oh, a name. “We cannot come up with one!” the former Bachelorette star, 33, says of the struggle she and her husband, radio host Kevin Manno, 34, face. “I feel like I blinked and this pregnancy flew by.” Thankfully, the mom of Molly, 21 months, has one major task checked off: the nursery. “I like to get things done in advance, so having that finished is huge,” the Ali Luvs blogger tells Us. “I wanted something classic. Yes, it’s a nursery, but I didn’t want it to feel too babyish. It’s something he can grow into.” She opens up about her great expectation.

You’re in the home stretch! How are you feeling?

1

Massively pregnant! This little guy has been measuring about five weeks big every single time I go to the doctor. I’ve been so big for so long that it’s caused physical strain on my body. And, of course, I’m caring for a oneand-a-half-year-old. I’m exhausted!

Have you been able to work out? Molly has pretty much been my only workout since she was born. Being a parent is the hardest workout there is, in my opinion. I can’t lie down on the couch for an hour and binge-watch my favorite show. But I’ve definitely gained more weight this pregnancy, which is fine. I’m like, “Give me an extra piece of cake!”

What are your cravings? Everything sugar! I always want a sundae at the end of the day. I had Kevin go to the store and get ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream and little candies to sprinkle on top. My doctor told me to cut back. [laughs]

What excites you most about a son? Molly is a daddy’s girl and everyone I talk to says sons are mama’s boys. I’m looking forward to that motherson bond! I am nervous about how much energy boys have, though. My girlfriends have sons and they’ll come over and be jumping off walls. I hope Molly’s sweetness rubs off on him.

How have you prepped her for this big change? We try to teach her through books and little dolls. We tell her the baby is going to come out of mommy’s belly. At the end of the day, she is only 21 months old, so she doesn’t really get it. But, she hugs and kisses my belly. She’s going to be the best big sister because she’s so loving!

How do you and Kevin sneak in alone time together? We don’t! To be honest, parenting takes a toll on your relationship. Since Molly was born, we have probably been on less than five dates. And by that I mean, his brother comes over, we go to dinner and we’re home by 7 p.m. We love each other and we’re best friends, but we’re in full-on parent mode. After this baby comes, we’re definitely going to make that a priority.

Biggest challenge about having two under 2? When I need a break, I can just say, “Kevin, you take Molly.” Soon, there will be two of us and two of them. I’m worried about finding time for me. Right now, one percent of my time is for me. I’m either working or I’m with Molly. How am I going to make room for this baby? That’s my fear. But people say two is easier because they keep each other occupied. Whether that’s true, I’ll find out!

ASHLEY BURNS PHOTOGRAPHY

Do you want more kids? How has Kevin been doting on you? Kevin is what my friends like to call a unicorn. Men like him don’t exist. Because I’ve been so uncomfortable, he’s taken on 90 percent of the parenting. I’m almost embarrassed to admit that By Jamie Blynn

2

[laughs]. I feel like someone needs to come give him a break!

No! [laughs] We’ve got a boy, we’ve got a girl. We are good to go. In a perfect fantasy world, it would be great to have a bigger family. Will another child happen? I can’t say. There could be an oops moment, you never know!

He added, “Prince had no idea he was taking [something] that could kill him.”

T

he third time around, Kate Middleton knew exactly what to expect. So when she began feeling contractions in the early morning hours of April 23, she was more than ready. At home in Kensington Palace’s Apartment 1A with husband Prince William, the duchess alerted her medical team — including royal obstetricians Guy ThorpeBeeston and Alan Farthing — then waited. When her labor had progressed far enough, she and Prince William made the mile-long drive to St. Mary’s Hospital. Just as he had before the arrivals of Prince George in 2013 and Princess Charlotte in 2015, William hopped behind the wheel to usher his wife to the famed Lindo Wing at 5:20 a.m. local time. Though they were practiced, they were just as cautious. Once at the hospital, their small group — which included just two senior aides — continued their cloak-anddagger operation, getting Kate through the doors with maximum secrecy. “She was driven in via the back entrance of the Imperial College Medical School building,” a hospital insider tells Us.

Though remarkably similar to the dress Diana wore for Prince Harry’s 1984 debut (inset), Kate’s “clever choice” of a red and white Jenny Packham was meant to honor England’s St. George’s Day, a source tells Us.

COVER STORY Once inside, continues the source, a “relaxed” Kate “was escorted by protection officers through a secure tunnel to the entrance of the Lindo Wing,” then to the same third-floor suite where she welcomed her other children. Notes the source, “It was all very hush-hush.” And remarkably on schedule. Less than three hours after Kensington Palace announced that Kate, 36, was in the early stages of labor — and on her exact due date — she welcomed their third child, an 8-pound, 7-ounce baby boy. “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs,” Kensington Palace announced via Twitter and press release. While the world cheered upon hearing the news of the tiny heir’s arrival, no one could compete with the enthusiasm of big brother Prince George, 4, and big sister Princess Charlotte, 3. After all, notes a royal source, “Will and Kate were making sure they felt included in everything” all along.

A PRINCE’S WELCOME Before big bro and sis — who were at school and at home, respectively, during the event — could greet their baby brother, William and Kate got to spend a few precious hours bonding with their newest charge. And though William, 35, joked with media outside the hospital that having three children meant “thrice worry now,” the source tells Us the parents are total pros. “After you’ve 46

had two children,” notes the source, “the third usually feels like something of a breeze.” Sharing word of the new addition with loved ones was certainly familiar. As with Charlotte’s birth, it was previously determined that members of The Firm — including Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla — would forgo meeting Baby Cambridge at the hospital in favor of visits to KP in the upcoming days. But kin, like uncle Prince Harry and future aunt Meghan Markle, who stepped out at a memorial service in London just hours after Kate gave birth, were no less thrilled to hear of the arrival. As the palace stated, “The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted.” With everyone up to speed — including Will’s former longstanding private secretary, Miguel Head, “who may be one of the godparents,” notes a source — Kate’s next task was to prepare to leave her $9,650-a-night luxury suite. After she gave birth to Charlotte, she was in the hospital 10 hours. This time, she beat her record by an impressive three hours! But before Kate could return to her 22-room home, she had to be camera-ready for the new prince’s debut! Among the

Well-wishers from across the globe, including Michelle Obama, who Instagrammed about the birth, sent their love to the family (on April 23).

ROYAL DEBUT Once the family’s welcoming party had wrapped, the fifth in line for the throne was ready to meet his adoring fans. At 6 p.m., Kate stepped outside to greet the crowds in a custom red Jenny Packham dress — the same designer she wore when she presented her first two children to the public. At just seven hours old, Baby Cambridge was also following tradition, sporting a G.H. Hurt and Son Ltd. shawl — the same brand that draped not just his siblings, but Charles, William and Harry too. And though the newest royal family member — who at press time was yet to be named — had a designer entrance into the world, Mum and Dad will still make sure he remains down-to-earth. After all, notes the source, the heir’s nursery “is filled with hand-me-down clothes and toys.” 

PIPPA IS PREGNANT! PREGN NANT! The family keeps growing! A source confirms to Us that Kate’s sister Pippa, who wed 42-year-old hedge fund manager James Matthews in May 2017, is expecting her first child. A pal predicts the 34-year-old will definitely turn to her big sister for advice: “Kate has so much knowledge to share. She’s a walking baby encyclopedia at this point!”

CLOCKWISE FROM LEFT: SAMIR HUSSEIN/WIREIMAGE; (2); TERRY FINCHER/PRINCESS DIANA ARCHIVE/GETTY IMAGES

first in Kate’s room postbirth were her longtime hairstylist Amanda Cook Tucker, who went to work on the duchess’ chestnut locks, and clothing stylist Natasha Archer. The latter “had zipped out” about a half-hour before the prince’s birth “to collect Kate’s departure outfit from Kensington Palace,” says the source, and had returned with dress in hand. As Kate’s style team worked away, William slipped home to fetch George and Charlotte, who had been under the care of grandmum Carole Middleton and nanny Maria Borrallo. The tots had been anticipating this day for some time — so much so that not even spending 25 minutes with the newborn in the hospital could quell their excitement. “It’s unlikely they’ll be asleep” when Kate and William return home, the source predicted. “They’ll be up all night excited about their new brother!”

Get in Line!

How does this prince shake up the order of succession?

A

t 92, Queen Elizabeth has a long line waiting for her gilded seat — but as she stated at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting April 19, eliminating rumors her eldest son may be skipped, “It is my sincere wish” that the next king be Prince Charles, 69. The Duke of Cambridge is next in line, followed by George, Charlotte — thanks to a 2011 law eliminating gender as a factor — and the new prince. Harry, 33, is now sixth in line, behind the three tots.

Just six days after welcoming daughter True via C-section on April 12, the new mom praised the duo on her app for “how they can handle it all.” That includes managing their broods — they each have three kids — and fielding their younger sister’s questions. “Even though I’m not big on taking advice — I don’t believe there’s only one-way-or-the-highway and we all have to adapt into our routines,” she wrote April 18, “it’s so comforting to know that I have sisters whom I can ask about anything that may come up.” But some answers she has to arrive at on her own. Since learning boyfriend Tristan Thompson, 27, allegedly cheated on her with at least five women throughout her pregnancy, Kardashian, 33, has faced an agonizing choice: Should she stick with the NBA pro — or leave their Cleveland home and return to L.A. to raise their daughter alone? “If there

Right now, there’s no timetable.”

KHLOÉ’S PRIORITY Well, not completely. While the Cleveland Cavaliers power forward is competing in the playoffs possibly through June, Kardashian has decided to stay put in Ohio — but only for the sake of their baby. “If she were to leave now, Tristan wouldn’t be able to fly out to L.A. to bond with True,”

explains the source. “It’s important to Khloé that he spend significant time with his daughter.” That thinking doesn’t extend to the Revenge Body host and Thompson (who also has 16-month-old son, Prince, with ex Jordan Craig). “Khloé is completely focused on True and isn’t

But combined with her diet, it was enough to shed the weight and build her confidence: On April 17, the 31-yearold made a triumphant return to the Florida beach — this time, in a bikini, noting, “I feel like I’m back to my normal self!”

But though many moms say breastfeeding helps shed pounds, the reality star found it had the opposite effect. “I had crazy nursing cravings,” she says. “I was ravenous and felt like I could eat a 16-ounce steak!” Once on Nutrisystem, she found her favorites, including omelets and pasta, in portion-controlled versions. Explains Roper, “It keeps me on track.” And it does the same for her husband — who gained 20 pounds of sympathy weight during Roper’s pregnancy. “He was in such denial!” jokes Roper. “Then one day he could not put his pants on.” So the 30-year-old started the plan too. As he notes, “It’s been easy, because she can eat what I eat and I can eat what she eats.” Especially now that dinners out are a rarity. “Date nights are slim,” admits By Jamie By mie Blynn nn

When temperatures are freezing in their hometown of Kansas City, Missouri, “Jade will do lunges while holding the baby,” says Tolbert. “Emmy is her medicine ball!” Indeed, the 5-foot-5 TV personality has completely tossed aside her strenuous prebaby workouts. “As a new mom, I still try to be gentle with myself,” she says. “I go on walks with Emerson in her stroller around our lake.” The slow

“I cherish him,” Javid tells Us of her newly minted husband.

During the ceremony, Farahan sat with the bride’s mom and dog, who served as a ring bearer.

“We had the best day,” says Javid, who exchanged these wedding bands with the groom.

Wedding planner Leora Soleymani of Best Bride tells Us the decor (and also the cake from JJR Cakes) was mostly white with “a pop of gold.”

“Everything looked just beautiful,” says the reality star, who incorporated Persian traditions into her special day.

After exchanging personalized vows in front of 160 guests — including Javid’s Bravo costars Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi, Shervin Roohparvar, Mike Shouhed, Destiney Rose, Sammy Younai, Reza Farahan (who served as her “man of honor”) and Farahan’s husband, Adam — the night continued with a “magical” first dance to “Simple Things” by Miguel, followed by plenty of champagne. “A lot p of guests let loose and had o tthe drinks flowing,” says Javid, 45, confessing that although she usually hates to dance, she tore up the floor: “Our DJ [DJ Yoav of Yoav Entertainment] was amazing and knew exactly what everybody wanted!”

HAPPILY EVER AFTER HAPP At the end of the night, Javid aand her marketingprofessional profess s hubby invited

everyone up to their hotel room for an afterparty that lasted until 5 a.m. “This was the dream wedding. It was exactly what I wanted it to be,” says the bride, dubbing the modern deco–themed affair — which featured Persian traditions and music at Javid’s request — “classy, fun and beautiful.” As she notes, “There was not a single person who wasn’t there without their hearts swelled up with a lot of support and happiness. These are the moments that make life sweet.” Once the pair — who met on Tinder in 2015 — get back from their honeymoon (Javid is hoping to fly to Honolulu’s Waikiki Beach when filming wraps), they have big plans. Says Javid, “We’ll be opening the next chapter of our lives, which is starting a family.” 

working harder than anyone else they know. Instilling a strong work ethic is so important to us.

Do they have chores? RW It’s more about schoolwork and

sports for them, but they have to pick up after themselves and keep their rooms in shape. It’s an age-old battle with young kids, but the key is to win more battles than you lose — and to pick your battles.

The Wahlbergs share some of their favorite personal snaps with Us

What sports are they into? RW All my kids love sports, and

You’re both very into fitness. Does that help your union? MW You have nothing without your

health. And happiness is limited if you don’t feel good about yourself. RW Staying fit helps any marriage. When I’m feeling good, it makes everything that comes with being a mother of four easier to deal with!

How do you encourage your kids to stay fit?

our youngest girl loves horseback riding. She’s so good at it. It’s a little nerve-racking watching this little girl on such a big animal, but she has good trainers. The boys play anything with a ball, and both play football, soccer and run track.

MW I eat all day at set times and

mostly ketogenic [low carb] with fresh greens, clean protein and healthy fats. I use Performance Inspired supplements, the line I cofounded, to help me recover and as meal replacements or healthy snacks. RW I also have a PI Ripped Protein shake before most workouts if I can’t eat right away. And I’m always adding fruits and vegetables to my diet.

How do you keep your kids down-to-earth? RW They are normal kids who do

the same things as other children. They see how hard their dad and I work and how busy we both are running the day-to-day life we lead. Mark travels a lot, so with four kids it’s a daily fight to keep everyone on track. The kids see both of us always

Do they know how famous their dad is? RW They know, but they are not

impressed at all! [laughs] MW It’s a nonissue for them. They only pull the “Dad’s famous” card when they want to go to a concert or meet someone famous. They see me as Dad and that’s all I want. They see it as more of a pain when we are being followed on the street, but they deal with it all really well and I’m proud of them.

Would you have more kids? RW We are done! We are very blessed

to have four healthy and special children and lucky to have two boys and two girls, so it’s even. No ganging up! MW It worked out great for us! • USM AG A ZIN E.COM

Pour tequila into a glass over ice. Muddle jalapeño, ginger, lemon juice and simple syrup in a shaker. Add ice and shake until chilled. 2 Strain into glass and top with ginger ale or ginger beer; add bitters. Garnish with lemon wedge and serve.

Season pork belly heavily with salt and pepper and leave to sit overnight in the fridge uncovered. 2 Add belly to a large Dutch oven, making sure it lies flat. 3 Add lard just to cover and cook in 275-degree oven for 4 to 6 hours or until fully tender. 4 Carefully remove from oven and allow to chill overnight. 5 Remove pork belly from lard and slice into 5/8-inch pieces. Crisp in skillet as you would bacon. When crisp on both sides and hot all the way through, remove from pan and set to drain on a wire rack. 6 Slice the onion thinly and season with salt, pepper, cider vinegar, oil and chopped cilantro. 7 Build tacos with tortillas, the crispy belly, the marinated onions, sliced avocados and fresh squeezed lime if desired. Serves 4 to 6.

EAT UP!

Guy’s Guac Bar If you think you know guacamole, think again, says Guy Fieri: “It’s way beyond smashed avocados, and it works so well with so many flavors.” The Guy Fieri Family Food cookbook scribe shows Us h how to turn the side dis h wit nt into a main eve the help of DIY extras.

1/2 lb Mexican chorizo, browned 1/4 cup frozen shelled edamame, cooked according to package instructions 1/4 cup pepitas, toasted and seasoned with salt and pepper 1 fresh corn cob, husked and silks removed 4 ripe Hass avocados, pitted and peeled Juice of 1 lime 2 tbsp chopped cilantro 1 tsp flaky sea salt Freshly ground black pepper 4 small radishes, cut into fine matchsticks 1 oz (about 1/4 cup) cotija cheese, crumbled 1 cup diced fire-roasted poblanos (see box) 1 cup pico de gallo (see box) Tortilla chips, for serving

HOW TO FIRE ROAST POBLANOS 1. Start with about 6 to 8 fresh poblano chiles. Use a grill or, if you have a gas oven, the burners on your stove top. You can also use the oven broiler (set the rack about 4 inches from the flame). If using a grill or broiler, place the chiles directly on the rack. If using gas burners, you can place the chiles on the grate above the flame. 2. Turn the grill, broiler or a burner to high. Fire-roast the chiles over the open flame until the skins are charred and black all over, about 2 minutes per side; use tongs to turn the chiles. 3. Remove chiles from heat and immediately place them in a large bowl. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and let stand for 3 to 4 minutes for small chiles (the steam will help to loosen the skins), or until cool enough to handle. Remove the plastic and scrape away and discard the charred skin. Cut in half and remove and discard the seeds, stem and membrane.

MAKE YOUR OWN PICO DE GALLO! 4 Roma tomatoes, cored and finely diced 2 tbsp chopped cilantro 1/2 red onion, minced 1 garlic clove, minced 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced Juice of 1 lime 1 tsp fresh celery juice (optional) 1/2 tsp kosher salt Freshly ground black pepper 1

In a medium bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for about 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld together. 2 Drain any excess liquid, and serve.

Set the chorizo, edamame and pepitas aside each in their own small serving bowls. 2 Heat a grill to high, or set an oven rack 6 inches from heat source and turn broiler to high. Grill or broil the corn for 4 minutes on each side, until charred. Let cool slightly, then stand the corn upright in a large bowl and use a sharp knife to remove the kernels from the cob. Set kernels aside in a small serving bowl. 3 In a large bowl or molcajete, crush the avocados with a fork or tejolote until well broken up. Add the lime juice, cilantro, flaky sea salt and black pepper to taste. Mix to combine. 4 Place the radishes, cotija, poblanos and pico de gallo in small serving bowls. Serve the guacamole and condiments with a big bowl of chips. Serves 6 to 8.

Zach Braff’s Return to TV

I

t was time to grow up. Eight years after Zach Braff signed off as Scrubs’ goofball doctor J.D., the actor “wanted a familyoriented project,” he tells Us. “It’s harder to do PG comedy. Everyone gets a laugh out of something dirty! But to have jokes adults and kids will laugh at is a real challenge.” And one he was up for. As the titular star of ABC’s new comedy Alex, Inc., he plays a journalist dad of two who quits his job to start a podcast. “He’s forging his own path,” Braff, 43, says. “I’ve always done the same. I try to veer off the normal route and do unique things.” The single star shares more. Q: Ever think about giving up acting to start over like Alex? Sometimes. I dream of running off and starting a new life. I’d come back as an architect. Right now, I’m renovating my house, so I’m getting my fix. Q: Favorite podcasts? I started with true crime podcasts, like “Serial” and “S-Town.” And then I got into celebrity interviews, like Anna Faris’ “Unqualified.” Q: Have your TV kids made you want a family of your own? I love these kids! They’ve put me over the edge. I took Audyssie James, who plays my daughter, to Disneyyland the other day and just watching ng her light up and smile — I’m ready. y. McAdams), her married childhood friend, and it’s clear from their awkward body language they share a secret past. They soon fall into each other’s arms. But is their future doomed? Both actresses are in fine form, with Weisz as the modern, stubborn woman coping with grief and McAdams as the obedient housewife aching to break free. There’s a delicacy to the storytelling, albeit a turgidity in its pacing. The end could have used a bit more resolution.

For Rachel Dratch, inspiration struck close to home. As overbearing, frazzled mother of the bride Debbie in Netflix’s new film The Week Of (streaming begins April 27), “I channeled my own mom,” says the actress, who plays the wife to Adam Sandler’s frugal Kenny. “My mom is always making sure everything is running smoothly. She’s the hostess with the mostest!” The comedy — which follows middle-class parents as they plan their daughter’s vows to a welloff guy — will resonate with most families, insists the 52-year-old. Though the antics are exaggerated, “this is everyone’s parents at one time or another,”
