PLAY TRUE DAY 2016 Play True Day is a day dedicated to the clean sport. It was originally initiated by 17 South American countries, which, in cooperation with WADA and based on Montevideo Declaration, declared 10th of April as “Play True Day”. The purpose of “Play True Day” is to acquaint sport and public with global fight against doping. In the scope of Erasmus+ project, all organisations that are participating in the prePLAY project (Slovenia, Estonia, Latvia, Croatia and Malta) decided to enforce the Play True Day in Europe as well and organize numerus doping prevention activities in the week before and after 10th of April. Play True Day was organized for different target groups – from athletes and their support personnel to students and lawyers. Play True Day campaign was carried out at more than 100 different events and more than 4.000 signatures were gathered for the support of clean sport. This report contains main activities that were carried out in prePLAY countries. Play True day was also celebrated in Romania, countries of Caribbean RADO (16 countries), Puerto Rico and in Paraguay.

Play True Day in Estonia Play True Day was celebrated for the first time in Estonia. Several activities were organised from April 3-16. EADA appreciates most that a wide range of different sports organisations were involved in organising the Play True Day. The partners were two different big fitness clubs MyFitness and Golden Club, also sports federations (basketball, swimming, volleyball, badminton, archery), action sports centre Spot of Tallinn and sport store chain Sportland. The variety of organisations shows that the idea was received well and that encourages the organisers to plan it on a larger scale the coming year. Events from April 3-16 April 3 – outreach program at the Tallinn TV-Tower Run 2016 April 6-10 – anti-doping educational leaflets will be distributed in the sports club MyFitness and Golden Club April 5 – lessons on clean sport at Miina Härma Gymnasium in Tartu April 6 – lessons on clean sport at Jõgeva Secondary School and High School April 7 – lecture for the physical education teachers in Tallinn April 8-10 – outreach program at Latvia Estonia United Women’s Basketball League http://www.wbbl.eu/ April 10 – outreach program at the international swimming competition in Tartu April 10 – outreach at the Estonian volleyball finals in Pärnu April 10 – outreach at the action sports centre Spot of Tallinn April 10 – leaflets and stickers were distributed in the Sportland sports stores in Tallinn and in Tartu April 16 – outreach at the Badminton Tournament GP-5

Play True Day in Croatia Croatian Institute for Toxicology and Anti-Doping (CITA) carried out from 3rd through 17th April 2016 several anti-doping activities within the prePLAY program. The aim was to promote widely to sports and general population the message of clean sport. AntiDoping ambassadors played the active role, participating with great enthusiasm in all kinds of educational activities in the field of anti-doping. Play True Day in Malta In Malta several activities were carried out in the period before and after 10th April. They adopted the slogan ‘Train Hard Win Clean!’ and incorporated these into signing boards and they asked the participants to sign as a pledge to clean sports. The board was then donated to the club so it can be displayed in a prominent place to serve as a reminder to the athletes of their commitment to clean sports. They also used one of these boards with a cut out to serve as a frame for pictures of the participants to show their commitment. These then were shared on social media. The following were the activities intended to promote Play True Day: March 23 – lessons for coaches at the Continuing Professional Development Seminar for Handball coaches April 4 – outreach program at the football training ground of Sliema Wanderes Football Club April 9 – outreach program for the Junior National Water polo teams April 16 – prevention activities for junior golfers at Royal Golf Club Malta May 6 – prevention activities at National Sport School May 7 – prevention activities for young athletes at Mosta Cycling Club

Play True Day in Slovenia In Slovenia Play True Day was organized in the week before and after 10th of April and was targeting various target groups. Play True Day campaign was carried out at more than 64 different sport events and we managed to gather more than 2.700 signatures for the support of clean sport. Several Slovenian media published the news about the Play True Day. Prevention activities were carried out at: April 5: seminar for coaches that are included in the sport programme of Ministry for education, science and sport, Municipality of Ljubljana or National Sport Federations April 9 – 10: prevention activities at National football matches (1st league, junior and cadets league) April 9,10: prevention activities at national championship in shooting April 10: prevention activities at semi-final games of national championship in American Football April 9-10: outreach program at Marathon Istra April 4-15: prevention activities at 17 high schools with sport departments April 11: outreach program at Fitness centre X9 April 12: prevention activities at Woman's Football match Slovenia: Macedonia April 13: legal seminar for lawyers and law students April 13: round table for medical students and professors at Medicine Faculty in Maribor April 16: outreach program at Spring Day of Sport in Ljubljana April 2-17: outreach programs at shopping malls in major Slovenian cities April 10, 17: prevention activities at national championship in Floorball
