Pearl River

I would like to tell everyone about our little Town of Pearl River. Pearl River has one of the largest commercial parks in St. Tammany Parish. Associated Wholesale Grocers and Rooms to Go employs hundreds of people throughout this area.

Lacombe has always been a beautiful place to live, work and play. While our Highway 434 corridor is thriving with growth, the southern Lacombe area is the place to enjoy Bayou Lacombe, the Trace and world class restaurants including Sal & Judy’s and La Provence.   Our citizens range from original Choctaw Indians and Creoles that have been here for hundreds of years to newly retired families seeking an acre or two of  quiet country life.  We may be located just 15 minutes away from the BIG cities of Slidell and Mandeville but we are now seeing more and more folks coming to Lacombe for their higher education, our newly developing subdivisions and many doctor’s offices.

Pearl River has some of the best fresh water fishing and hunting in the State of Louisiana. The Pearl River is a Scenic River that runs through the Honey Island Swamp. It’s also a Recreational River; natural sandy beaches have been formed by the river which makes it heavenly bliss. Our historical Museum located at 39437 Highway 41, Spur, tells the history of Pearl River through photos and artifacts. Daily tours can be scheduled through the Town Hall. We have our community park in the Town where there are parties booked throughout the year in our pavilions. In the summer, children in the area enjoy the cool and refreshing Water Park that is adjacent to our community park. I am proud to call Pearl River my home. My door is open and I am always available to answer any questions or concerns that you may have about our Town. God Bless, Mayor David McQueen

As we all know, development north of Interstate 12 is now necessary due to insurance concerns and expensive development costs in other areas of St. Tammany Parish. That is making centrally located Lacombe an area that will continue to grow and prosper.  Our area NEVER has a traffic jam in the CBD of Lacombe because of our ever moving and beautifully landscaped traffic circle. Nature preservation thrives as we have the United States Fish and Wildlife facility and a portion of the Nature Conservancy land in southern Lacombe, keeping hundreds of acres untouched for our wildlife existence and growth.  Our biggest nature preserve is Bayou Lacombe where fresh water fishing flourishes while leading to Lake Pontchartrain for blue crabs and a large variety of salt water fishing. Lacombe is definitely the “PLACE TO BE”! Al Hamauei
