187 Luba Caryatid Stool, the slightly concave circular seat supported by the heads and hands of a Janus male and female caryatid, each figure standing on the low domed base with exaggerated feet and short stocky legs set wide apart, their tapering oval faces each with protruding rectangular mouth open and teeth bared, flattened nose, pierced eyes (two blue glass bead inlays remaining), and low smooth forehead, the female with an incised coiffure, rich reddish-brown patina, ht. 12 in.
