Kuraray Noritake EX-3 Ceramics Course (1 day) Presented by Tatsuya Minami Tatsuya Minami Tatsuya studied dental technologies between 1999- 2001 in Tokyo and qualified in April 2001, after which he did an internship at the Tokyo Showa Dental University. Between 2002 and 2010 he worked in Germany at the Dental Laboratory Art-Oral Klaus Muetherthies. Since February 2011 he works at “Art Oral Spain”. In 2008 he began a part-time dental

techniques instructor course at the Dental Techniques School in Tokyo , which is on going. He has worked with numerous dental techniques and systems including ‘Cercon’ , ‘Zirkonzahn’, Art Oral and Jan Langner modeling systems and published jointly with Klaus Muetherthies and Gerd Koerner an article with Art –Oral.

Course Description Excellent handling properties make the fabrication of PFM restorations and all-ceramic veneers in EX-3 remarkably easy. Its ideal fluorescence provides vitality in all lighting conditions and it is also highly resistant to silver-induced greening. Due to its distinctive features EX-3 is superior to other porcelains because its coefficient of thermal expansion remains stable during repeated baking. Therefore when firing long-span bridgework, each unit may be precisely customised with repeated baking of the entire span with minimal risk of cracking.

Lab 39 18

or 19th June

Lab 39 was founded in the 1960’s by Dr. John Bunyan, later run and then owned by his son Wilky Bunyan. The primary goal was to produce the highest quality restoration no matter the cost. The house at 39 Harley Street was a hub of innovation and education. Study meetings with some of the top practitioners of the time, including amongst others Peter Kay Thomas, Charlie Stuart, Niles Guichel and Earl R. Pound. The knowledge and philosophical approach from this time are the values that keep the laboratory in good stead. Lab 39 is continuing to build on its core philosophy of occlusion and attention to detail. In 2009Dr James Dewe Mathews took the bold move to take the lab into the 21st century by moving to new and improved state of the art premises on the corner of Cavendish and Wimpole Street, still in the medical pinnacle that is the area in and around Harley Street, London.
