Kuraray Noritake EX-3 Master Ceramics Course DATE: Check online

VERIFIABLE CPD: 7 hours

COURSE FEE: £195.00 + VAT

Registration is at 8.30am and the course will commence promptly at 9.00am and finish at 4.30pm

Today’s possibilities with Noritake EX-3 – taking a classic approach to ceramic restorations through layering on metal and more recent options – the modern management of ceramic materials for aesthetic solutions.

THEORY The aim of our discussion is to determine the criteria which should be applied when choosing both materials and dental techniques taking into consideration, not only their aesthetic potential but also, their physical and mechanical properties. Dental technicians must be able to work on the widest range of materials and techniques so as to eventually allow dentists to select the most appropriate material for every clinical case.

FOCUS We will start by highlighting the great stability and versatility of the classical layering-on- metal technique with internal stains (as taught by Master Dental Technician Hitoshi Aoshima). Our focus will be on demonstrating the strong points of this approach, namely its simplicity and repeatability. In particular, care will be given to their influence on the final aesthetic results. • Shade and light – the optical properties
 • Natural features
 • Match colour technique • Colour chart and recipe

• New Luster Powders • Multilayer technique and ‘Internal Live Stains’
 • Strategy and Clinical cases

HANDS ON Layering technique on metal with Noritake EX-3. We will start by demonstrating the aesthetic potential as well as the physical and mechanical properties of the material by using one simple and repeatable technique. Triple layering and internal staining technique. Considering the great stability and versatility of the classical layering-on-metal approach with internal stains.

Due to the edentulous situation the dental technician can only find a few points of orientation, which he can use for the set-up of the teeth. Based on the full/full prosthetics concept developed by professor Gerber, Merz Dental has developed a method, which determines and allows to check the former positions of teeth. The system also takes into account the statically suitable load areas of the denture bearing area by means of model analysis. This method is called the TiF® method (Total prosthetics in Function) and is wellestablished at German universities, schools and laboratories.
