Congratulations forward looking back-country shredder! I would like to thank you for believing in my Skeats™ skin cleats enough to make a purchase so early on!! The cleats work great as they are right now. And we are always tweaking the design, s o any ideas or constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated. The first two minor changes I'm considering have to do with the velcro pieces and the way that you fold each side of the skin cleats on top of the other after you have affixed them to your boards. 1. We are considering sewing the velcro onto the strap. While the Skeats™ skin cleats function just fine without the velcro, I thought it might neaten things up and prevent any excess strap from flapping around in an annoying manner. Right now the velcro is just glued on. 2. We are also considering attaching a small elastic band to the end of the straps. This would enable the user to slip the ends through each other when buckled to keep the excess in place. See pic below. The third and fourth changes are to the physical plate. 3. Third change is regarding the shape and alignment of the spikes. We are working on fin shaped triangular spikes that would assist with glide and traction. The new spikes will be off set and not lined in parallel on the bottom of the plate. 4. We are working on getting an 85mm and a 60mm plate out there ASAP for those of you with skinnier skis. Please, as you use the Skeats™ skin cleats this winter, help me to make them better. All of you who purchase a pair before December 1st 2017 are eligible for a free upgrade as soon as I have any improved models available.
I only ask that you send me a suggested improvement, and/or send me a link to any social media that shows you using the Skeats™. And you must promise to give your older model to a friend to use in the back-country:)!!
