Rainbow Rumble was my very first DCM ever. Since I am a freshman it was something new for me and I could say it was one of the most fun experiences I've had so far this year. When I first arrived at the event it was a bit awkward because I didn’t know anybody except for the people who went to Savanna and a few friends from other schools who I met up with. People were in line to sign up, food was being sold, and everyone was just talking to their friends. After everyone got settled in we had our division council meeting. I didn’t know how it worked and couldn’t hear anyone, but all I know is that Savanna won 1st shining club of the month. LET'S GO REBELS AND SUNS!! Once that was all done we finally got the powder and we had to make a big giant circle with the dragons and otters. I and my friends ended up talking to the girls right next to us who are from Rancho Alamitos High School. They were some of the sweetest people ever and I definitely hope I get to see them one more time this year since they are seniors. For most of the event, we stuck with them and got to know each other a little more. We played a few games, took pictures, and threw powder everywhere. Towards the end, while taking the big group photos with the other divisions, I met someone else who goes to Santiago High School. Me, my friends, and he all got along pretty well. He is also a senior so I hope I get to see him once more this year. The event was coming to an end, I made sure I got all the amazing people’s Instagrams I had met and said goodbye to each other. I’m glad I decided to go to September’s DCM because if I didn’t I knew I would regret it. Never miss out on any experience, you could meet new people, learn new things, and have fun. I love Key Club.
