This is the 3rd DCM that I have attended and the whole event was very enjoyable. I was surprised by how many Savanna students showed up. I was able to see people I am close with and was able to converse with them. I think this was the first time I have seen students from Division 30 North. They’re purple and have rhinos as a mascot. After checking in, the people who checked in the students, gave us a number on our hand. I was able to sense that we were going to be separated into groups. Not surprising but a good tactic. The numbers were 1, 2, and 3. That meant there were going to be 3 different stations and 3 big groups of people. Each group is going to rotate into different stations so they could each do a project there. I first started off with the dog toy station. It was easy to knot and braid the shirts together because I have done this before and it was fun to braid. Then after a chant was yelled, we rotated and went to the card making station. It was card making for the elders, they shall live a good life. We took many pictures during the break and the school representatives were selling snacks and some drinks. I bought the strawberry slushie, it was good and cold. The last station I was assigned to was the peanut butter and jelly sandwich making station. They ran out of gloves and bread to make more….. I guess the other participants had lots of fun as I heard someone yelling, “Don’t make a lot! Other groups need to make them too!”. It was really fun and I want to attend more DCMs in the future.
