EDITORIAL Grenzen ohne Krieg, Hautfarbe ohne Hass: Skateboarding kann das! skate-aid wirkt, denn Skateboarding verbindet! Die einzigartige Integrationskraft des Rollbretts nutzen wir schon vom ersten Tag an. Jedes unserer weltweiten Projekte mit jungen Menschen ist eine Erfolgsgeschichte in Sachen Integration. Unser neues Mag erzählt euch diese Erfolgsgeschichten. Ganz besonders freut mich, dass wir über unsere Workshops inzwischen auch viele Kinder in Deutschland erreichen. Einige von ihnen mussten ohne Eltern aus ihrer Heimat fliehen. Hier leistet skate-aid echte Integrationsarbeit und erleichtert diesen Kids den Einstieg in unsere Gesellschaft. Es ist fantastisch zu sehen, wie schnell Kinder aus Syrien, aus Afghanistan und vielen anderen Ländern in unserem Projekt „Across the Bo(a)rders“ und unseren bundesweiten Workshops mit einheimischen Gleichaltrigen zusammenkommen, Anschluss und Anerkennung finden und auf diese Weise als Persönlichkeit stark werden. Da bleibt wenig Platz für ein Gefühl der sozialen Ausgrenzung. Wir bei skate-aid werden nicht aufhören, Grenzen und Teilung mit dem Skateboard zu überwinden und junge Menschen zu verbinden. Borders without war, skin color without hate: skateboarding can do it! skate-aid works, because skateboarding unites! Since day one we’re using the unique integration power of the skateboard. Each of our worldwide projects with young people is a story of success in the matter of integration. Our new magazine is telling you these stories of success. I’m especially thrilled, that we reach a lot of kids here in Germany through our workshops. Some of them had to flee their homeland without their parents. This is where skate-aid achieves real integration work and facilitates kids the access to our society. It’s fantastic to see, that in our “Across the Bo(a)rders” project and our nationwide workshops, kids from Syria, Afghanistan and many other countries get together incredibly fast with local kids their age, find connection and recognition and get a stronger personality that way. There’s little room for a feeling of social exclusion. We here at skate-aid will not stop to overcome borders and separation with our skateboards and connect young people. Please support our work with a donation, collaborations or through active cooperation in our projects.

Boizenburg ist nicht gerade als Kreativ-Epizentrum bekannt. Umso schöner, wenn sich ein paar Leute an den runden Tisch setzen, um etwas Schwung in die ländliche Idylle zu bringen. Gesagt getan und so durfte skate-aid schließlich gemeinsam mit der Sweet-tec GmbH, der Initiative „Fairhafen“, 1337 MATE und der Stadt Boizenburg eine Aktionswoche für Kinder und Jugendliche aus Boizenburg und der gesamten Region durchführen. Ort der Ferienfreizeit war der Skatepark „Fairhafen“ in Boizenburg in dem sich dann bis zu 50 Kids eine Woche lang intensiv mit Skateboarding, Graffiti und dem Bau eigener Skateboard-Ramps & Co. beschäftigen

konnten. Der integrative Gedanke stand dabei, wie bei allen skate-aid Projekten auch in dieser actiongeladenen Woche im Vordergrund. Am Ende waren alle Teilnehmer und Organisatoren platt und feierten ausgiebig gemeinsam auf der großen öffentlichen Abschlussparty, die von Lina van de Mars moderiert wurde und bei der die skateaid Supporter-Band „The Restless“ aus Bayern die Menge begeisterte. Danke an alle die beim Workshop mitgemacht haben und natürlich an jeden einzelnen, der bei der Planung und Umsetzung am Draht gezogen hat – you know who you are. Last but not least geht ein ganz besonders „Dickes THX“ an Oliver Schindler und Dietmar Beutling von Sweet-tec für die tolle Unterstützung. Wir hoffen, ihr hattet alle mindestens genauso viel Spaß wie wir mit den Kids.

Boizenburg is not really known as a creative epicenter. Even better, that some people got together to bring some action to such a countryside idyll. No sooner said than done and finally skate-aid accomplished an action week for kids and teenagers from Boizenburg and the whole region, in cooperation with Sweet-tec, the initiative “Fairhafen”, 1337 Mate and the city of Boizenburg. The summer camp took place at the skate park “Fairhafen” in Boizenburg, where around 50 kids had a fun week with skateboarding, graffiti and construction of skateboard obstacles. Like in all skate-aid projects, the integrative motto had priority during this action packed week. At the end, all participants and organizers were pretty much exhausted, but in a good way. They partied together at the huge public final party, that was hosted by Lina van de Mars and where the skate-aid support band “The Restless” from Bavaria stoked everyone with their live performance. Thanks to everyone, who made this workshop possible-you know who you are. Special thanks to Sweet-tec for the awesome support. We hope you had as much fun with the kids as we did.

n der Zeit vom 14.02.–07.03.2017 haben wir zum dritten Mal das Inklusions-Projekt der Münsteraner UNESCO-Schulen Schillergymnasium und Primusschule mit ihren Partnerschulen, der A. Shipena High School und der NISE-School for Hearing Impaired in Windhoek/ Namibia begleitet. Umringt von Gittern und Stacheldraht leben die Kinder der Schulen hier manchmal mit 10 Leuten in kleinen Räumen. Nächtliche Kämpfe wilder Hunde vor der Tür und Skorpione im Zimmer waren für mich eher abenteuerliche Erfahrungen… für die Kids sind sie normaler Alltag. Nach der Unterrichtszeit kümmert sich niemand um die Freizeitgestaltung der Kinder. Daher waren sie mit viel Enthusiasmus dabei, als ich mit ihnen und einigen Lehrern zusammen eine Funbox gebaut habe und täglich mit ihnen geskatet

bin. Egal ob sie schon die ersten Ollies versucht haben oder zu dritt sitzend auf dem Board den Weg zwischen Schule und Holzwerkstatt hinab gefahren sind, alle Kids hatten großen Spaß und können es kaum erwarten in dem Skatepark zu skaten, der auf dem Gelände der Schulen für Seh-, Hör- und geistig Beeinträchtigte geplant ist. Da Menschen mit Behinderungen in Namibia mit Ausgrenzung und Vorurteilen zu kämpfen haben, ist es gerade dort wichtig diesen Skatepark als gemeinschaftliches Projekt anzubieten, um Ängste und Vorurteile abzubauen und gemeinsam Spaß zu haben. rom February 14, to March 7, 2017 we have accompanied the inclusion project of the Münster based UNESCO schools, Schillergymnasium and Primusschool, with their partner schools, A. Shipena High School and NISE School for Hearing Impaired in Windhoek/Namibia for the third time. The children of the schools live behind bars and barbed wire in small rooms sometimes with 10 people. Nocturnal fights of wild dogs and scorpions in the room were for me rather adventurous experiences ... for the kids it’s their normal everyday life. After school nobody cares about the children’s leisure time, so they showed great enthusiasm when we built a funbox together with them and some teachers and skated with them every day. No matter if they’ve tried their first ollies or if three of them were sitting on a board were rolling down the way between school and

wood shop; they all had a lot of fun. They can’t wait to skate the new skate park, that is planned to be built on the campus of the schools for the visually-, hearingand mentally impaired. Since people with disabilities are struggling with exclusion and prejudices in Namibia, it’s exactly the right place to offer this skate park as a collaborative project in order to reduce fears and prejudices and have fun together. nicht nur dabei, ein Gefühl für Sprachen zu bekommen, sondern auch mehr über unterschiedliche Kulturen zu erfahren. Man sieht gleich, dass die Kids Spaß am Unterricht haben und offen für neues sind. Ob beim Bauen von Obstacles oder beim Erlernen der Grundlagen des Skateboardens, die Kinder und die Schulleitung waren begeistert und viele Kinder wollten gar nicht mehr vom Board steigen. Es war eine tolle Woche, die allen sehr viel Spaß gemacht hat. Wir kommen gerne wieder… und vielleicht baut skate-aid bald dort ja sogar einen Skatepark, den die Schüler zusammen mit den einheimischen Kids nach Schulschluss nutzen können. SKATE-AID IN THE LAND OF THE PHARAOHS I’m Nia and I interned for two weeks for my school at skate-aid. After one week at the skate-aid office it was very interesting to get an impression of the skate-aid project work on site. The German School in Hurghada/Egypt invited us to be part of a project week. For 7 days we accomplished skateboard workshops for kids

of the classes two to nine. The students have different nationalities, like German, Egyptian, Russian, Suisse, English and many more. That’s the reason why the kids learn up to 5 languages because they have to communicate among themselves and that increases their chance to get a good job, not only in Egypt. They

Ich bin Nia und habe bei skate-aid ein zweiwöchiges Schul-Sozial-Praktikum gemacht. Nach einer Woche im skate-aid Office war es auch sehr interessant, einen Eindruck von der Projektarbeit direkt vor Ort zu bekommen. Die Deutsche Schule Hurghada in Ägypten hatte zu einer Projektwoche eingeladen, in deren Rahmen wir unter anderem für Kids von der zweiten bis zur neunten Klasse Skateboard-Workshops veranstaltet haben. Die Schüler haben die unterschiedlichsten Nationalitäten, wie z.B. Deutsch, Ägyptisch, Russisch, Schweizerisch, Englisch usw. Auf Grund dessen erlernen die Kids bis zu 5 Sprachen, was ihre Chancen erhöht nach Abschluss der Schule im In-oder Ausland einen Job zu bekommen. Den Kindern hilft diese multilinguale Erziehung mit internationalen Schwerpunkten

Der zweite von skate-aid durchgeführte und von innogy gesponserte Skateboard-Workshop fand in den Herbstferien an der Jugendfreizeitstätte Brakel statt. Anstatt auf dem Sofa zu chillen oder die Eltern zu nerven hieß es eine Woche lang skaten, skaten und nochmals skaten. Neben der von uns allen so geliebten Aktivität auf 4 Rollen, gab es auch noch weitere kreative Aktionen. Street-Magier Tobi Müller war mit von der Partie und führte erstaunliche und total verblüffende Tricks vor. Danach waren die Kids selber gefragt sich einen Zaubertrick zu erarbeiten und an den Skateboard-Trainern und den Eltern zu erproben. Die Kids konnten sich außerdem unter dem Motto „skate & create“ und unter der fachkundigen Anleitung eines „Profi-Sprayers“ ihr eigenes Deck gestalten und ihrer Kreativität freien Lauf lassen. Die Woche in Brakel verging wie im Fluge und war ein voller Erfolg. Ein dickes Danke an alle, die dabei mitgeholfen haben. Allen vorweg Ingrid Roland von der „Jugendfreizeitstätte Brakel“. During the fall holidays skate-aid did a workshop at the Youth Activity Center Brakel. It was our second workshop sponsored by innogy. There was a full week of skating, skating aaaand skating, instead of chilling on the couch or annoying the parent. Besides playing around with our favorite wooden toy, we offered other activities too. There was a street magician, who showed his skills with some incredible tricks. The kids worked on an own trick as well and tried to impress trainers and parents. We also had a professional graffiti artist in the team. With his help, the kids could create their own decks – skate and create in its best. The week in Brakel passed by way to fast. Everybody had a blast and it was a total success. And one thing is for sure:…we´ll be back!

Der skate-aid Skateboard Workshop in Altenberge, den wir gemeinsam mit innogy umsetzten, war eine Woche mit viel Skateboarding, Graffiti und Magie. Rund 50 Kids wurde alles rund um das Skateboard beigebracht…von der Gestaltung der eigenen Deck-Grafik, über Materialpflege, bis hin zu den ersten Basics auf dem Board. Die Kids waren mit unglaublichem Eifer bei der Sache und die Lernerfolge waren enorm. Besonders in der Miniramp wurde fast nonstop gepusht bis der Drop-In geklappt hat. Unter Anleitung eines Graffiti-Künstlers designten die Kids ihre Decks und Street Magician Tobi verblüffte alle mit seinen Tricks, wobei er sich anschließend sogar ein wenig „in die Karten schauen“ ließ. Eine rundum gelungene Woche, die wie im Fluge verging und sicherlich einige Skateboard-Fans hervorgebracht hat. Danke an innogy, die Gemeinde Altenberge mit Bürgermeister Jochen Paus…und an alle Kids, die mit so viel Enthusiasmus und Spaß bei der Sache waren.

The skate-aid innogy Skateboard Workshop in Altenberge was a week full of skateboarding, graffiti and magic. About 50 kids learned everything around skateboarding…from creating their own deck graphics and material maintenance to the basics of skateboarding. The kids had an unbelievable determination and the learning success was amazing. Especially in the mini ramp they pushed nearly non-stop until they managed to drop in. With the help of a graffiti artist they designed their own board graphics, a street magician amazed everyone with his tricks and even layed his cards on table just a little bit. It was a very successful week that was way too short and has produced some skateboarding fans. Thanks to innogy, the Altenberge community with mayor Jochen Paus… and all kids that were participating with so much enthusiasm and fun.

„Nicht quatschen, sondern machen!“ Frei nach diesem Motto wurde kurz nach der letzten skateaid-night das umgesetzt, was dort auf großer Bühne angekündigt wurde: NIKON ist offizieller Unterstützer von skate-aid im Bereich Foto- und Video-Equipment. Im November flog somit ein 4-köpfiges NIKON Film-Team gemeinsam mit Maik zu unserem Projekt nach Kapstadt. Die dabei entstandenen 360° Videos, mit faszinierenden Aufnahmen über unsere Arbeit in Südafrika, wurden mit der neuen Action-Kamera KeyMission 360 aufgenommen, die uns auch bei unseren zukünftigen Reisen begleiten wird. Eine Woche lang haben wir nicht nur im skate-aid Skatepark und den Spots mitten in der Stadt, sondern auch rund um den Tafelberg gefilmt. Am Beispiel des 11-jährigen Ebraham, aka „EB“, wird durch einen Einblick in seinen Alltag gezeigt, wie wichtig unsere Arbeit in den Projekten ist, um Straßenkindern einen sicheren Platz fern von Kriminalität und Drogen zu bieten und ihnen durch Skateboarding Selbstvertrauen, Eigenverantwortung und Gemeinschaftsbewusstsein zu vermitteln. „Talk’s cheap…just do it!“ According to this motto we accomplished what was announced on stage at the last skate-aid-night: NIKON is official supporter of skate-aid in the range of photo and video equipment. In November, a 4-member film crew accompanied Maik to our project in Cape Town. The resulting 360° videos with fascinating images about our work in South Africa were filmed with the new KeyMission 360 action camera, which will also be with on future journeys. For one week, we filmed at the skate-aid skate park, at city spots and around the Table Mountain. Using the example of the 11-years old Ebraham, aka “EB”, and an inside view of his everyday life, shows, how important our project work is. Street kids are given a safe environment far from criminality and drugs and are imparted confidence, self-responsibility and community awareness through skateboarding. EB’s grandfather is raising him and his siblings in an area, where you definitely don’t want to walk around after dark. Despite these difficult circumstances, EB is everyone’s darling with his vitality and positive attitude and that’s also partly because skate-aid gives him the possibility to skate every day. Thanks to NIKON for the excellent equipment, that allows us to shoot impressive pictures so we can bring our social work to an increasing number of people. The “Bretterbude” (shack) in Heiligenhafen- a surfer/ skater hotel of a very special kind. Located right at the boardwalk it has its unique style…a brilliant style. Rooms are called “Butzen” (joints) and the massage room is the “Knetkammer” (knead chamber). The inhouse bar is the “Spelunke” (dive bar) and instead of staying in a star rated hotel you’re staying in the “Holzklasse” (wood category). Absolutely superb! Not to mention the concrete mini ramp in the lobby and the “Spezialbutzen”, the theme rooms: there’s for example a “skate-aid Butze” too. We were allowed to design the room individually according to our wishes. With help of designer Florian Bürkle (Floid Design Stuttgart) we’ve created a fresh room with a skateable wallride, a lot of wood, pictures of our projects and the distinctive skate-aid style. And the best thing is that a percent of the booking amount goes to support skate-aid projects. So a visit is worthwhile in several aspects and “Hozklasse” is not to be taken literally…comfort and features are leaving nothing to be desired. Die „Bretterbude“ in Heiligenhafen – ein „Skateboard Hotel“ der ganz besonderen Art. Direkt an der Strandpromenade gelegen hat es seinen eignen Style…und der ist genial. Das Viper Team, mit rund 30 skate-aid Aktivisten, um unseren skate-aid Anstifter Titus hatte diesmal Pech und wurde beim 24-Std-Rennen auf dem Nürburgring durch eine Verkettung unglücklicher Umstände wegen Lautstärkenüberschreitung(?!) disqualifiziert! Und das, nachdem es in ihrer Klasse die Pole geholt hatte und im Rennen sogar sensationell in Führung gelegen hatte! Durch Sponsoren, die die Teilnahme am Rennen überhaupt erst ermöglichten, eine Tombola und viele Spenden kam eine ordentliche Summe für unsere Projekte zusammen. Die grüne Viper fährt seit 8 Jahren für skate-aid und den guten Zweck durch die grüne Hölle, war und ist immer Publikumsmagnet und in diesem Jahr der Sieger der Herzen! 2016 fand der erste skate-aid „Highest Ollie Contest“ in Kapstadt statt. Alle Beteiligten hatten dabei super viel Spaß und daher war schnell klar, dass wir für 2017 mehr vorhaben würden: Ein weltweiter Contest mit möglichst Ländern/Projekten an Bord. Ziel war es auch, den Kids das Gefühl zu vermitteln, dass sie nicht allein sind auf der Welt und das am selben Tag, zur gleichen Zeit Gleichgesinnte, über die ganze Welt verstreut, vereint das Gleiche machen…skateboarden und Spaß haben! Die Aktion war ein voller Erfolg und über das Geld, das an diesem Tag über unsere Spendendosen hereinkam, werden sich die Kids in unseren Projekten sehr freuen. Wir sehen uns 2018…how high can YOU ollie? In 2016, the first skate-aid “Highest Ollie Contest” took place in Cape Town. Everybody had so much fun, that we had to go bigger in 2017: a worldwide contest with as much projects/countries as possible. One goal was to show the kids, that they’re no alone and that all over the world at the same time like-minded kids doing united the same thing…skating and having fun! It was a huge success and the money of our donation cans from this special day will make the kids in our projects happy. See you in 2018…how high can YOU ollie?

Im Rahmen des skate-aid Flüchtlings-Workshops „Across The Bo(a)rders“ in Kooperation mit Dr. MarieChristin Ghanbari und dem Sportpaten-Projekt fand im Skaters Palace in Münster eine „skate & create“ Aktion statt. TV-Comedian und Aktions-Pate Simon Gosejohann und Skateboard-Pionier und skate-aid Gründer Titus Dittmann unterstützten dabei die Kids beim Erlernen der Grundlagen des Skateboardens und Gestalten eigener Boards. Zusammen mit der Hamburger Künstlerin Henriette Wagener konnten auch Sneaker bemalt werden. „Das ist eine ganz fantastische Idee. Ich habe selber eine Skateboard-Vergangenheit und glaube, dass da viele kreative Kräfte entstehen, die zur Selbstverwirklichung beitragen. Ich finde es einfach genial!“, so Simon Gosejohann über „skate & create“. Within the framework of the „Across The Bo(a)rders“ refugees skateboard workshop and in cooperation with Dr. Marie-Christin Ghanbari and the SportpatenProjekt, a special „skate & create“ action took place at the Skaters Palace in Münster. TV-comedian and mentor of the campaign Simon Gosejohann and skateboard pioneer and skate-aid founder Titus Dittmann helped the kids to learn the basics of skateboarding and to design their own boards. Together with the artist Henriette Wagener, sneakers could be painted too. “That’s a fantastic Idea. I have a skateboard history myself and I guess there are a lot of creative powers to be emerged which contribute to self-realization. It’s just awesome”, says Simon about “skate-and create”, Marie Lindhoff (project supervision) und Torben Oberhellmann (skate-aid chairman) also contributed to an exciting day for the enthusiastic kids.

»ACROSS THE BO(A)RDERS« Die Flüchtlingssituation und die damit einhergehende Frage nach Inklusion sind aktuell in allen Medien präsent. skate-aid ist bereits seit vielen Jahren mit vollem Engagement dabei, für Flüchtlinge in Deutschland die Hoffnung mit der Kraft des Skateboards ins Rollen zu bringen. Unser wöchentlicher Flüchtlings-SkateboardWorkshop im Skaters Palace in Münster, der unter dem Motto „Across The Bo(a)rders“ steht, bietet vor allem auch unbegleiteten minderjährigen Flüchtlingen aus Münsteraner Flüchtlingseinrichtungen die Möglichkeit einer sinnvollen und altersgerechten Beschäftigung. Kids, die regelmäßig und verlässlich an den Sessions teilnehmen und sich gut innerhalb der Gruppe einbringen, können sich anhand eines von uns entwickelten Punktesystems auch ihr eigenes Skateboard, Schutzausrüstung und Skatekleidung verdienen. Der Workshop ebnet den Weg zu Inklusion, Persönlichkeitsbildung und Sprachvermittlung, damit sie selbstbewusst in eine bessere Zukunft blicken können.

The situation of the refugees and, as a consequence thereof, the question for help is currently present in the media. For many years and with total commitment, skate-aid is already at it to keep the hope of refugees in Germany rolling through the power of skateboarding. Our weekly refugees skateboard workshop at the Skaters Palace in Münster, called “Across The Bo(a)rders”, enables especially unaccompanied, under age refugees from refugee facilities in Münster, to have an age-appropriate occupation. Kids who are reliable, group oriented and who take part at the workshops on a regular basis can join a point system with which they can gain their own skate stuff. The workshop paves the way for integration, personal development and language teaching, so they can look with selfconfidence at a better future. help across the board | 33

wieder erstaunlich, wie schnell und mit welcher Begeisterung sie lernen. Da fühle ich mich ja in meinen jungen Jahren schon fast alt. …und da sind sie auch schon…die berühmten letzten Worte Skateboarding ist zu 90% probieren und scheitern. Aber die 10% Erfolg sind es trotzdem wert, jedes Mal zu kämpfen und immer wieder aufs Brett zu steigen.

ie bist Du zu skate-aid gekommen und was verbindet Dich damit? Ich skate jetzt seit 17 Jahren und skate-aid passt einfach! Soziale Arbeit in Verbindung mit Skateboarding…besser geht’s ja fast gar nicht. Dazu die weltweiten Projekte. Ich hoffe, dass ich mit skateaid auch mal nach Afrika oder Südamerika komme. Erst kürzlich war ich bei einem Workshop hier in

Deutschland dabei. Das hat super viel Spaß gemacht mit den Kids. Das ganze skate-aid Team ist mega und das Engagement ist einfach ansteckend. Skatest Du jedes Terrain? Mittlerweile fahre ich hauptsächlich Bowl und Miniramp, aber ab und zu auch mal Rails und Curbs. Welche sind deine favorite Spots/Tricks? Natürlich unser local Beton-Bowl am Berg Fidel in Münster.

Lieblings Trick wäre ein McTwist, den ich aber leider niemals lernen werde. Erzähl‘ doch mal einen Schwank/ein besonderes Erlebnis/eine außergewöhnliche Erfahrung/aus der Projektarbeit mit den Kids Bei den Workshops ist einfach jeder Tag ein erfolgreicher Tag. Alleine wenn man sieht, wieviel Spaß die Kids am Skateboarden haben. Es ist immer

ow did you get round to skate-aid and what connects you with it? I’m skating for 17 years now and skate-aid just fits. Social work in connection with skateboarding…how good can it get?! Plus the worldwide projects. I hope, that I can go to Africa or South America with skate-aid one day. Just recently, I participated in a German workshop and it was so much fun to work with the kids. The whole skate-aid crew is awesome and their determination very contagious.

Do you skate any terrain? Nowadays I skate mainly bowls and mini ramps but once in a while a rail or a curb too. What are your favorite spots/tricks? Of course our local concrete bowl at Berg Fidel here in Münster. My favorite trick would be a McTwist, but unfortunately I’ll never learn it. Tell us a funny story/a particular moment/ extraordinary experience from the project work with the kids. At the workshops, every day is a successful and special day. Just looking at the kids and seeing how much fun they have skateboarding. Again and again it’s amazing, how fast and with how much enthusiasm they’re learning. Seeing that, I nearly feel old sometimes, even at my young age. …and here they are…the famous last words Skateboarding is 90% trying, failing and bailing. But the 10% success are still worth fighting every time and going back on the board again and again. help across the board | 35

Sean van Rooyen Sean, Du kommst ja aus Kapstadt. Was machst Du da genau? Mein Name ist Sean van Rooyen und ich bin der skate-aid Repräsentant für Südafrika. Ich kümmere mich hauptsächlich um unser Kapstadt-Projekt, mache die Instagram und Facebook Accounts und arbeite auch mit den Kids... Wie wird Skateboarding bei euch wahrgenommen? Skateboarding wird nicht mehr unbedingt als ein rebellisches Ding für pubertierende Heranwachsende gesehen. Heute ist es schon fast als ein „Sport“ angesehen hinter dem eine große SkateboarderGemeinschaft steht. Es ist ein perfektes Mittel, um gefährdeten Jugendlichen die Chance zu geben sich in respektable Persönlichkeiten zu verwandeln. Sie fühlen sich zu der „extremen“ Skateboard-Szene hingezogen, die aber eigentlich schon von der Gesellschaft anerkannt und respektiert wird. Skateboarding ist kreativ ohne Lehrplan und ist Individualsport und gleichzeitig verbindend mit Gleichgesinnten. Für

Stell Dich doch mal kurz vor… Mein Name ist Patience Habib aus Uganda/Ostafrika. Ich bin Skateboarder und von der Uganda Skateboard Union, skate-aid Freiwilliger/Aktivist und ich LIEBE Skateboarding! Du bist das erste Mal auf einem anderen Kontinent und umgeben von fremder Kultur. Was würdest Du gerne mit nachhause nehmen von dieser 2monatigen Erfahrung? Also erstmal darf ich nicht vergessen mein Skateboard wieder mitzunehmen… hahaha…Bis jetzt habe ich schon so viele Erfahrungen gemacht…die Leute, das Essen, die Kultur und die unterschiedliche Lebensweise. Manche Sachen sind schon wirklich erstaunlich und manche Sachen sehr inspirierend. Vergleiche doch mal das Skateboarding hier, mit dem, in deinem Heimatland. Das kann man eigentlich gar nicht vergleichen. Hier skaten alle auf so einem unglaublich hohen Niveau. Da wollen wir bei uns auch mal hinkommen. Und Skateboarding ist hier nicht illegal! Ich würde gerne mal eine Vert-Ramp skaten…irgendwo muss es hier doch eine geben. Du hast ja letztens einen neuen Spitznamen bekommen. Erzähl doch mal… Ich habe keine Ahnung, wovon Du redest!

I’ve been a sporty guy all my life but skating is creative, non-textbook and can be done as an individual or with your [team] mates. This is freedom and good mental nourishment to me. Am 12. November fand im Skaters Palace in Münster die C&A skate-aid-night 2016 powered by Lexus statt. Bereits zum 11. Mal lud unser Anstifter Titus zu dem Charity-Event ein. Rund 280 geladene Gäste, unter ihnen Prominente wie der Schauspieler Wotan Wilke Möhring und Comedian Simon Gosejohann, wurden von André Gatzke und Lina van de Mars charmant durch einen unterhaltsamen und bewegenden Abend geführt. Am Ende kam die stolze Summe von rund 57.000 Euro für die weltweiten skate-aid Projekte zusammen. The C&A skate-aid-night 2016 powered by Lexus took place on November 16 at the Skaters Palace in Münster. For the 11th time, our initiator Titus invited to this charity event. 280 invited guests, among them celebrities like actor Wotan Wilke Möhring and Comedian Simon Gosejohann, were guided charmingly through the program by André Gatzke and Lina van der Mars. At the end of the night there were 57.000 Euro provided for the wordwide skate-aid projects. Titus Dittmann: „Wahnsinn, wie sich die skateaid-night entwickelt hat! Sie war Wochen im Voraus ausverkauft und ist zu einem echten Magneten geworden. Ich bin begeistert, wie viele Menschen darauf brennen, mit uns ein Stück Hoffnung ins Rollen zu bringen.
