MAYOR’S WELCOME Dear Friends and Neighbors, Welcome to our Summerfest Celebration! After a few years of modifying our celebration schedule it is my privilege to invite you to join us as once again we KICK OFF summer and celebrate the rich traditions we have here in South Jordan. This year our SoJo Summerfest will be held June 1-4 and will be bigger and better than ever! We are committed to providing fun for all ages and hope you’ll join us for our fantastic parade, our fun family carnival and activities, and our beautiful fireworks. South Jordan is a wonderful place because of the amazing people we have here. Summerfest is an opportunity for us to come together as families and friends, to make memories, renew old relationships, and start new ones. Whether you have been here a long time, have recently moved in, or are just visiting, we hope you’ll enjoy the friendliness of the good people who live here and will come back and join us every year at our SoJo Summerfest Celebration. I sincerely appreciate the efforts of our outstanding employees, countless volunteers, the City Council, and all those who work tirelessly to make Summerfest such a great success. To each of you who help with this event, and to those who keep us safe while we enjoy it, we say thank you. With that, I hope you’ll grab your sunscreen and plan to join us for this wonderful kickoff to the season. Summerfest is sure to be an experience you’ll enjoy, I look forward to seeing you there! Sincerely,

He graduated from BYU in 1975 with a BS in civil engineering and worked for Shell Oil, Grace Geothermal, Kennecott, and Trans-Jordan Cities prior to retiring in 2016. Dwayne has enjoyed many opportunities to serve the SJ community and has watched it successfully grow in population from 7,500 in 1983 to today’s almost 85,000.
