This year’s Parade of Homes is a testimony to the talent and hard work that our area builders bring to their communities every day. This year‟s „St. Johns County Parade of Homes Showcase Home is Benchmark Custom Luxury Homes‟ Found Forest model in Ponte Vedra Beach‟s Marsh Landing. The home is an elegant showcase for Benchmark‟s extensive repertoire of design elements. With the Found Forest, Benchmark Custom Luxury Homes set out to create a unique home that blends classic design, modern techniques and many genuine antique fixtures and architectural details. The finished product captures the look and feel of an authentic Old-World home, while offering the latest comforts and conveniences. Benchmark incorporated an extensive variety of unique design flourishes, using genuine antique elements in as many areas as possible. The design includes antique doors used as ceiling tray details, imported antique columns, custom metal work and many other features. No effort has been spared to make each aspect and each room of the home a unique treat. Designed by the heart of the home, the kitchen, which opens into an expansive family room, features distressed wood beams, textured stucco and antique Dutch oiled hardwood floors, Modern appliances integrate into a rustic design without compromising the antique atmosphere. Viking appliances blend unobtrusively into the cabinetry. The range features a hood of stucco and antique woodwork. The refrigerator/freezer melds into custom Luxor cabinets. An Italian onyx island top features a matching custom sink, while other counter top surfaces are honed Italian marble. An additional island/bar includes a handmade copper counter top with integral sink. A butler‟s pantry holds wine units and an additional refrigerator/freezer. The Master Suite was designed to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment. The Bath features imported stone floors throughout. His and her sink areas feature vanities and cabinetry with a custom designed distressed rustic finish. The centerpiece of the room is an imported handmade copper bathtub with specialty fittings. The theme continues in the master shower, which includes a full complement of luxury plumbing fixtures, shower heads, hand showers and body sprays. An imported mosaic adorns the shower wall. The bath suite also includes spacious his and her closets, as well as a full secondary laundry room. Other rooms in the home hold their own unique appeal. The formal dining room lies across a wide-open foyer from the living room, which in turn is separated by a two-sided fireplace from a richly appointed study.
