Wyoming Snowmobile

Fall is upon us and we are starting to get the snowmobiling itch. We kicked off the season with our first movie Premiere. Boondockers 12 was a huge success! A sold out theatre and a great success. Thank you to Dave See who took on organizing this event along with Ken Ballard. A huge thank you to Boondockers for the movie and auction items, along with Driven Power Sports, Alpine Motorsports and Papa Murphy’s. We saw a lot of new faces and we hope we got some interest in our club. We are working on the Casper Christmas Parade. This has been a long-time tradition for the club to participate and we know the kids are always excited to see what we will come up with each year. The parade is always the Saturday after Thanksgiving. As we all are looking for the snow to start flying we wish everyone a safe but great riding season.

Well, finally winter has decided to come to Wyoming and we are seeing snow here in Jackson! HopeOttobre fully the accumulation in the mountains will be quick and deep! The Snow Devils will hold their November annual general membership meeting on Thursday, November 5 at the Virginian Convention Center. As always in November, we will have a Thanksgiving feast with several members preparing turkeys and hams. Thanks to everyone who volunteered to cook! We have tickets for sale for our annual raffle which benefits the Shriners Children’s Hospital. The cost of $5 each or five tickets for $20. The first place prize this year is a 2015 Arctic Cat HCR 800 donated by ZBroz Racing. Other great prizes include a custom engraved pistol and gift cards. Please email me at jottobre@rmappraisals.com for information on getting your tickets! We still have merchandise such as sweatshirts, T-shirts and hats for sale from last year’s event at discounted prices. See our Facebook page for more information. We have had several Board of Directors meetings in the last couple weeks with the main focus being our sponsorship drive. We hope to enlist the help of professional marketing folks to make the 2016 World Championship Hillclimb bigger and better than ever! Please check out our website at www.snowdevils.org for upcoming events, and for dates and details about the annual World Championship Snowmobile Hillclimb in March 2016. The dates for the upcoming hillclimb are March 24-27, 2016. Enjoy the new snow! jan

Good Day Wrangler Niswender readers!! News from Districts #6 and #10. All the clubs are getting ready for winter: planning rides, stocking safety shelters, working on fundraisers and snow dances. Events vary from vintage rides to family rides and extreme rides. Events for everyone, you pick your pleasure. Don't forget to share your passion for riding with your friends. Bring them to a club meeting so that they can learn that we fight for their right to ride and educate people about avalanche and winter safety. If you are interested in helping out with any of clubs or joining in on any activities contact any club in your area. Our clubs help to send our youth to college and fight to keep our riding areas open for us. With all of your help we can keep our riding for the next generation. No snow on the Big Horns yet so let’s get the snow dance in action.

Greetings from District 9. Our weather is finally cold; can snow be far behind? The annual SnoWest Snow Show in Utah provided ample opportunity to network with the Utah Snowmobile Association director, Marge Wanner of the West Yellowstone Chamber, folks from the Branding Iron in West Yellowstone, Eric Byan of the Flying Saddle and many others about Yellowstone National Park and keeping the Park open in winter for non-commercially guided snowmobilers. Eric Byan and the Flying Saddle Lodge in Alpine are Business members of the WSSA. Thank you, Eric, for your support of the WSSA and snowmobiling. Eric is leaving the Flying Saddle for new adventures. We’ll miss seeing him at the Snow Show as well as in Pete Leibee and Christi Krause riding/hunting Alpine. Welcome to the new out at Sweetwater general manager, David Miller.
