Hey folks, Take a close looks at this picture, Brenda Miller your charity chair, Senator John Barrasso and myself. We had a great visit with Senator Barrasso about snowmobiling in Wyoming. Our conversation was vast over snowmobiling and the Highway bill which contains the Recreational Trails Program. Senator Barrasso was very kind to us and was very interested in our conversation. Senator Bert Miller Barrasso is very pro to helping find funding for the Highway bill and was very supportive for the sport of snowmobiling. This picture was taken in Washington DC during the DC Fly in April. We also had a good conversation with Representative Cynthia Lummis and she was very supportive. Bless her heart she was suffering from a very bad cold. WSSA-Access Wyoming your dollars fight for your rights. Well folks fall is really in the air and we are starting to see some white stuff showing up in the mountains! I think your snow dances are starting to work. I hope you are all having some good luck selling these WSSA Raffle ticket. This is a great way to help out WSSA and make some extra cash for your clubs. Well let’s keep thinking SNOW!

We have had a beautiful fall in Cody Country but I think it has been a little tough on the hunters. Anyway, our highway cleanup is done for this fall and we have cleaned up our back trail. As the season starts to get underway I would like to share a letter that was sent to our club members by our directors. Maybe member of other clubs are wondering some of the same things… Do you remember why you joined the Cody Country Snowmobile Association (CCSA)? Was it because of the mutual enjoyment of snowmobiling? Was it to create new friendships? Was it because it was a club that had families in mind? Was it because of the camaraderie? Maybe it was for all of these reasons. Do you know the purpose of CCSA? Our purpose is: 1. To promote good will and enhance the image of the sport of snowmobiling 2. To promote and preserver existing snowmobile areas. 3. To study the development of new snowmobile areas. 4. To cultivate cordial relations among the members and encourage cooperation with private land owners, the Forest Service, the National Park, the Game and Fish Commission and other federal, state and local agencies to obtain permission to use such property for the benefit of snowmobilers. 5. To promote safety in the use of snowmobiles.
Sometimes differences of opinions, suggestions from the younger generation, politics or just being stuck in a rut take its toll and we lose site of the reasons we joined a club in the first place. We all know that we aren’t the only club that this happens to. However, as the directors of CCSA we would like to ensure you that we are willing to help in any way we can to make sure that all of you feel good about being a member of CCSA. Please feel free to contact any one or all of us. Our doors are always open too for any of your concerns, comments or praises. Here are some good quotes for thought: “Individual commitment to a group effort, that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work” – Vince Lombardi “The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don’t play together, the club won’t be worth a dime.” – Babe Ruth “Respect your fellow human being, treat them fairly, disagree with them honestly, enjoy their friendship, explore your thoughts about one another candidly, work together for a common goal and help one another achieve it.” – Bill Bradley So, let’s all work together and have great season, Dustin Rosencranse Rob Marshall Levi Signor Bert Miller Dennis Meabon

Hello everyone out there. Nights are getting cooler and snow has been falling at times. It definitely looks like it’s time to get the machines out and checked over. Cal Anacker has volunteered to be our President again for this year, which is good news as he does a great job. We received some unexpected money from our local Recreational Board for our new groomer, we also received some money from the State for unused funds for grooming from last year. We also received some money which was donated for trail maintenance. Looks like we will not be operating out of our saving account as much this year. Rocky, our representative from WSSA, presented WSSA news. Yellowstone Park has raised their fees to $40 a day per person to ride in Yellowstone. Rocky passed out raffle tickets for this year’s WSSA raffle. Fun Days planning is going well, The Headwaters Center in Dubois is available; motels will be getting back with availability and prices. On Nov. 7 or 12 there will be a meeting in Dubois to talk about Fun Days. It was suggested that at our Christmas Party in the first week in December that we combined club meetings to talk about plans and needs. Bruce Kamminga our Vice President said on Jan. 15 the Winter Carnival show will take place and that the Antique Snowmobile Show could be included into that event at Riverton. Our highway cleanup went fairly well and we got our section of highway picked up. We will firm up our schedule of events and post it on sleddinthewinds web site soon. See ya on the trails. The Snowy Range club has had a busy fall of meetings, wood gathering, and safety shelter maintenance. We had our first official meeting in October and had a lot of great discussion about the upcoming season. We also discussed the new 75/25 split of the Schnapps bottle auction between the scholarship and Access Wyoming accounts. Our club fully supports the WSSA director’s decision and look forward to boosting the Access Wyoming account, while still supporting our youth. On November 1, about 20 members of the club met at the safety shelters to do annual maintenance. Both of the cabins needed a good cleaning and sweeping out. We have had trouble in past winters with water building up on the floor behind the stoves in both cabins, so we installed floor drains to hopefully eliminate this problem. We added some bracing under the seams of the floors as well. Also new for the cabins this year are heavy-duty kindling splitters and all new posters from www.snowmobilers.org. Thank you to everyone who came and helped out! When the season is over, we plan on bringing both cabins to town and doing some much needed painting and fixing up on each one. Check out our Snowy Range Snowmobile Club Facebook page and give us a like. Don’t forget the November 15 and 12 inches of snow rule if you plan to ride off trail in the Snowy Range soon. We look forward to our first rides of the season and hope you all are as excited as we are!
Deadline for the December Wyoming Snowmobile Wrangler will be November 23!
Hello fellow snowmobilers, The Dubois Sno-Katers will have their first meeting by the time this reaches print. We will District 12 be working on the calendar of activities and planning the upcoming snowmobile season. Representative It’s still quiet here in the high country. There’s snow on the mountains with the forecast of more to come in the next few weeks. I think the foremost thoughts about this time of year are the excitement and anticipation of the snow season to come. Trent picked his sled up early and is getting it ready. My son picks his crate up today and will start putting the new sled together this weekend. Excitement and anticipation are running full throttle! I remember last year, one of the best rides we had was in the powder the day before Thanksgiving. So, yes, one of the best parts of November is the excitement and anticipation of what is heading our way. The club is busy getting safety shelters cleaned and wood cut. Riders are checking sleds to be tuned and ready, so we’re ready to ride when Mother Nature brings the snow! The checklist includes getting trailers ready and winter gear out. Be sure to get those beacons ready with new batteries. All this thinking about snowmobiling escalates the excitement and has one looking at the clouds hoping for snow! Hope all of you are as excited as the Dubois Sno-Katers are for the upcoming season. Geared up for sledding, John Lee Jay Slagowski photos

Powder River Sno-Buffs
Greetings fellow snow enthusiasts! I am excited to report that we had snowcapped peaks in the Big Horns last night and a solid chill in the air! Snow-caps are a sure sign that riding season is just around the corner. There are a few other tell-tale signs. Top five indicators that your family might be anticipating snowmobile season. 5. The coffee table is strewn with the newest issue of Snow West magazine 4. There is a family fight over who gets to read the Wrangler first. 3. Camouflage is replaced with cold gear in the coat room 2. Mysterious parts packages show up on the doorstep from UPS 1. Your kids don’t ask, “How many days till Christmas.” They ask, “How soon can we go ride?” All joking aside, The Powder River Sno-Buffs hope that this issue finds you preparing for a great season of riding. Safety first! Check your gear, service your sled and pray for snow! It will be here before we know it. Let it Snow!
Districts 6 and 10
Fall is upon us and we are starting to get the snowmobiling itch. We kicked off the season with our first movie Premiere. Boondockers 12 was a huge success! A sold out theatre and a great success. Thank you to Dave See who took on organizing this event along with Ken Ballard. A huge thank you to Boondockers for the movie and auction items, along with Driven Power Sports, Alpine Motorsports and Papa Murphy’s. We saw a lot of new faces and we hope we got some interest in our club. We are working on the Casper Christmas Parade. This has been a long-time tradition for the club to participate and we know the kids are always excited to see what we will come up with each year. The parade is always the Saturday after Thanksgiving. As we all are looking for the snow to start flying we wish everyone a safe but great riding season.
Well, finally winter has decided to come to Wyoming and we are seeing snow here in Jackson! HopeOttobre fully the accumulation in the mountains will be quick and deep! The Snow Devils will hold their November annual general membership meeting on Thursday, November 5 at the Virginian Convention Center. As always in November, we will have a Thanksgiving feast with several members preparing turkeys and hams. Thanks to everyone who volunteered to cook! We have tickets for sale for our annual raffle which benefits the Shriners Children’s Hospital. The cost of $5 each or five tickets for $20. The first place prize this year is a 2015 Arctic Cat HCR 800 donated by ZBroz Racing. Other great prizes include a custom engraved pistol and gift cards. Good Day Wrangler Niswender readers!! News from Districts #6 and #10. All the clubs are getting ready for winter: planning rides, stocking safety shelters, working on fundraisers and snow dances. Events vary from vintage rides to family rides and extreme rides. Events for everyone, you pick your pleasure. Don't forget to share your passion for riding with your friends. Bring them to a club meeting so that they can learn that we fight for their right to ride and educate people about avalanche and winter safety. If you are interested in helping out with any of clubs or joining in on any activities contact any club in your area. Our clubs help to send our youth to college and fight to keep our riding areas open for us. With all of your help we can keep our riding for the next generation. No snow on the Big Horns yet so let’s get the snow dance in action.

Greetings from District 9. Our weather is finally cold; can snow be far behind? The annual SnoWest Snow Show in Utah provided ample opportunity to network with the Utah Snowmobile Association director, Marge Wanner of the West Yellowstone Chamber, folks from the Branding Iron in West Yellowstone, Eric Byan of the Flying Saddle and many others about Yellowstone National Park and keeping the Park open in winter for non-commercially guided snowmobilers. Eric Byan and the Flying Saddle Lodge in Alpine are Business members of the WSSA. Thank you, Eric, for your support of the WSSA and snowmobiling. Eric is leaving the Flying Saddle for new adventures. We’ll miss seeing him at the Snow Show as well as in Pete Leibee and Christi Krause riding/hunting Alpine. Welcome to the new out at Sweetwater general manager, David Miller.
